Summary and Preview
The setting is in World War era "Garuma" (Germany), but all people are anthropomorphic animals. In the aftermath of World War I, Garuma is devestated. Unemployment is widespread, and political unrest is causing many angry political parties to arise, in addition to the ever-looming threat of a Bolshevik-style revolution.
In these chaotic current times, the displaced student Bau Mueller, who doesn't care for politics, is just trying to get by. Quite by chance, he finds himself pulled into a nationalist political activist group. This group contains people from all walks of life; A widowed duchess who provides financial backing, an exiled professor, a locksmith, a drunken poet, and more. From them, Bau learns about the political forces threatening his homeland, and that even someone young like him can make a difference. Will Bau be able to survive the times and do the what is right for himself and his country?
