Summary and Preview

How long will you stay in the game? The last thing Kei and Masaru remember was being struck dead by a subway train while saving the life of a drunken bum. What a waste! And yet somehow they're still . . . alive? Or semi-alive? Maybe it's reanimated . . . by some kind of alien orb with a nasty message . . . "Your lives are over. What you do with your new lives is up to me!" And what this orb called "Gantz" intends to do with their lives is make them play games of death, hunting all kinds of odd aliens, along with a bunch of other ordinary citizens who've recently met a tragic semi-end. The missions they embark upon are often dangerous. Many die-and die again. This dark and action-packed manga deals with the moral conflicts of violence, teenage sexual confusion and angst, and our fascination with death. Hang on to your gear and keep playing the game, whatever you do; Gantz is unrelenting.

about a year ago i found an anime dvd called gantz. the only reason i bought it was because of the 18 cirtificate. i think personaly that manga and anime are at its best when its of an adult nature, so i was suprised to have my expectations fufilled and indeed exceeded when i watched it for the first time.
i then went on the internet trying to dig up info on a second series but was blown away when i found the manga version which needlless to say took me about 2 days to read. i was hooked completely i was loosing sleep thinking about what was going to happen next all the time and how the characters would develop, what plot twists there would be, what aliens they would encounter and most of all the actual motives of gantz and the ability of the gantzers to understand and make sense of them.
im sure that anyone who reads gantz will be instantly hooked and suffer the same withdrawal symtoms as me every time you finish reading the latest chapter! Permalink " "

Gantz is one of best mangas out here! A while ago I saw it's listing, but wasn't sure if I would be 'into' this type of manga. Wow, was I ever wrong! I read the first 23 volumes in one week. And I want more!!! It's well drawn, has a good plot, and the action never stops. I can tell how the artist's technique improved as the series went along; I am very impressed with the well-drawn and realistic expressions he puts on the character's faces. It seens as if his drawings 'evolved' into awesome greatness (and they were awesome to start with, so just imagine!!)! If you're into action, romance, drama, gore, and major mind trips, then this is the manga for you!!! Permalink " "

you may ask your self, whats the meaning of life? then again those life really has a meaning? why are we here? whats to do besides go around just letting time pass by? here its a manga that may answer those questions or just add some more to that tiny head off yours XD, point is imagen your self daying over and over again and again, protecting scum bags like yourself probably haha, these manga takes reality and shows it in a way no other manga does, if you like grown up and toughtfull manga, you have been serve, and for those praying for gore your prayers have been respond and not by god, but from an weird looking alien XD.. Gantz is my favorite series of all time. I began reading it 3 years ago and it truly has remained my favorite ever since I started reading. The art is marvelous(it changes over the course of the series because it was being refined as the series progressed), most of the characters are easy to empathize with due to the great characterization, the mysterious and unpredictable nature of the series make for heavy suspense and more rewarding revelations, the fights are very thrilling, the technology is quite the spectacle and complements the bizarre, exciting, and mysterious qualities of the series(a lot of the mysteries heavily involve the tech), and this series is just one of the most gripping series around. I hope you read this series and acquire the same appreciation for it I have. It's the greatest. Permalink " "

Gantz will seriously glue you to your computer screen sadly for me though its bcoz i really want to know whats gna happen and dont seriously care about each characters fate but still this manga has some AMAZING TWISTS and a bunch load of really cool action scenes !! Permalink " "
