I don't mind people claiming that Laxus will win this fight. But it is absurd to say he wins with less than High Difficulty... Saying TO Chelia isn't Spriggan tier or that she will get stomped by Laxus is completely underrating her. Both of these characters have similar feats and were able to match a Spriggan on equal levels.

Yup...
  • Laxus = at least a mid tier Spriggan level Dragon Slayer (I consider Wall a mid-tier even if all are consider around the same caliber)
  • TO Sherria = at least a low tier Spriggan level God Slayer (won't say mid cause her GS advantage over Chronos/Dimaria gave her additional effectiveness against beating her, and I consider Dimaria a mid-tier)
Not a stomp, not a wash. A Dragon and God going at it would make it a good fight, Laxus will win off of brute strength but Sherria can heal herself until she tires herself out, so it won't be a stomp. Lowkey disrespect to her status

Hardly. In what way do these characters have similar feats? Laxus attacks are portrayed as being able to one-shot average spriggans with a direct hit, Chelia can only one-shot a Spriggan with super effective magic. Chelias best speed feat is intercepting Dimarias laser, which DF Wendy was fast enough to perceive (and would have likely dodged had her leg not been damaged) whereas Laxus has outright blitzed a Spriggan. Chelias best physical strength feat is matching blows with DiMaria (who has not shown much physical strength herself) whereas Laxus is able to tango with someone who can send you a block away in physical strength. Chelias best durability feat is taking a blow from DiMaria to the face with decent damage (I consider her knocking the laser away a fusion of durability and physical strength) whereas Laxus has taken blows from a character far physically superior to DiMaria to the face with nothing but a small bruise. Chelia has the added healing factor, but that won't help her much when a direct him from anything other then regular punch/kicks from Laxus is OHKOing her.

Chelia cannot match Laxus in CQC and she is most certainly trumped in magic attacks. I'd argue that Laxus could probably take the win without even using any magic attacks. Chelia is out of her league here, she'd fair better against the likes of Jacob.

Attack

Laxus attacks are portrayed to one-shot average Spriggans by who? The fanbase? If we're talking about manga portrayal, it was never even suggested that Laxus could one-shot a Spriggan. Were there hints of him being able to deal major damage? Maybe. But not a one-shot...

Chelia one-shotting a Spriggan with magic that is super-effective is still a decent feat. That means even without slayer advantage, she could still beat Dimaria (with higher difficulty of course). Besides, did Chelia use PoF and Nakama power in her fight against Dimaria? No. Did Laxus? Yeah. That's literally the only reason why Wahl lost.

Durability

When you assess durability, you also have to take their conditions into account. I agree Laxus took heavier blows compared to TO Chelia, but who was hospitalized and unable to move in the end? Laxus. Meanwhile, Chelia was fine. She would still be fighting if she had her magic powers.

Durability is only one factor of perseverance. Endurance and stamina being the other factors. And because Chelia can heal herself, she would be able to last longer in a fight. Laxus is not knocking her out in one-hit, so your point is invalid...

Speed

Deflecting Dimaria's laser is nothing to laugh at... Wendy (who is one of the faster characters in the manga) was able to perceive the attack and arguably dodge it because she was stationary. On the other hand, Chelia actually had to cover some distance in order to block it.

Either way, TO Chelia kept up with Dimaria (God Soul) who is on par with Wahl in speed (if not faster). And because Wahl can land hits on Laxus, I don't see why TO Chelia couldn't either. Laxus' Lightning Body doesn't last very long, so Chelia still has one of the better speed feats...

Magic Power

The more posts I read, the more I see Third Origin being downplayed. I don't know if we all have a clear understanding of what it actually is, but I assure you that Chelia can match Laxus in magic power quite easily. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if she has more MP than Laxus.

I agree that its probably a mid diff fight but high diff??? I don't think so. I already explained why Red Lightning affected Wall. saying that it is a PoF is a bad argument, otherwise Erza' fight against Azuma and Kyoka shouldn't be counted at all. heck, Sherria gave PoF speech to Wendy.

Chelia and Laxus defeated Spriggans of the same level. Even if one of them had a slayer advantage, I don't see how the difference would be so significant to the point where one defeats the other with Medium Difficulty.

I'm not saying we shouldn't count Nakama power-ups... But we shouldn't put too much emphasis on them either. Plot devices exist and can skew power levels so we shouldn't take every feat as a matter-of-fact. With that said, labeling something as PoF is not a bad argument as long as it is true.

There is a quite a difference between Chelia and Laxus' final attack. For Chelia, she was reflecting on herself and the experiences she had with her magic.

For Laxus, he literally inherited the power of feelings from Yury Dreyar.

but what difference does that make??? keep in mind that Laxus didn't use any of his strong spells like Raging Bolt and his DS magic, DS magic which should/is much stronger than his regular lightning attacks. he engaged Wall in COC with low infused lightning punches and Shellia used her arguably the strongest move to finish off DiMaria. lets not mention that his Roar and other ranged spells would have zero effect against Wall. and slayer magic does have advantage. iirc Wendy stunned a dragon and Natsu also stunned a dragon. I guess its Wendy, Natsu > Jura. plus, Red Lightning is not a power up.

even if you say that its a high diff battle, it will be Laxus without DS against Shellia. Laxus with DS should mid diff her, not to mention Fairy Law although that is restricted.

Laxus(no DS) > Shellia high diff
Laxus(DS) > Shellia mid diff

if you think that its Laxus > DS Laxus then we shouldn't even discuss this.

People who say Laxus would low/mid diff this clearly don't understand the meaning of portrayal.

It seems pretty obvious to me that Laxus and TO Sherria are shown to be at equal level. Both of them managed to defeat a Spriggan after a power-up (Red Lightning and Third Origin) with help of another magic (Jutsu Shiki and Enchantments). Now I get the point that TO Sherria had a slayer advantage against Dimaria, but does this "slayer advantage" mean Sherria would be able to defeat any god? Clearly not, the GMG arc already showed us that Dragon Slayers weren't able to even defeat low tier dragons. But even though, she did get help of her slayer advantage which I won't deny. But since Chronos Dimaria's durability is clearly portayad to be above Wahl's, I think things get pretty compensated.

In brief:

Sherria with advantage (+ Third Origin and Enchantments) > high rated durability Spriggan

Laxus without advantage (+ Red Lightning and Jutsu Shiki) > low rated durability Spriggan

All by all, the portrayal of their power ranking in this arc are quite even.

So up to now, I'd say TO Sherria = Laxus in portrayal. But when it comes to feats, I'll still stand by my first statement in this thread which is TO Sherria >= Laxus. I won't go further on that aspect since I don't want to start another war.

By August implying that Ajeel would have died, hence why he opted to save him. I could settle for just doing major damage, but thats still WAY more then what Chelia can do.

No its not. Need I remind you that DeS Gray basically one-shotted Mard, who had just moments before tanked a secret art from DF Natsu. Chelia could have been GMG Laxus level and still one-shotted DiMaria with a super effective attack. She can't beat DiMaria without super effective magic, she even required help from Wendy. The PoF and nakama power argument is absolutely terrible, don't use it.

No, your talking about endurance right now, which I actually forgot to mention. Laxus took WAY WAY WAY more attacks then Chelia did, naturally he was hospitalized. In regards to durability, he took a physical blow from Wahl to the face and only received a bruise whereas Chelia took a physical blow from DiMaria to the face and started bleeding. Wahl has greater physical strength then DiMaria and Laxus still received a lot less damage then Chelia did from a blow therefore Laxus durability is far greater.

Durability is only one factor of perseverance. Endurance and stamina being the other factors. And because Chelia can heal herself, she would be able to last longer in a fight. Laxus is not knocking her out in one-hit, so your point is invalid...

Indeed its not, but its still not that impressive in comparison to blitzing an actual Spriggan.

Yeah I agree that DiMaria is around as fast as Wahl, if not faster but Wahl only kept up with base Laxus speed. Once he uses lightning coat he is able to blitz him, so he can blitz Chelia.

You clearly don't know what portrayal is it if you think they're equal. Chelia had everything in her favour and barely one won, the opposite was for Laxus and he still won.The only Spriggan Chelia can beat is a restricted Dimaria.....Even then Wendy had to help her.

Oh yeah you calling Dimaria a Spriggan with high durability and Wahl with low durability was pulled straight from your ass. Dimaria was hurt from a kick from base Wendy.

Laxus takes this mid to high diff, TO Sherria is easily mid Spriggan level considering she was able to tango with Dimaria, an actual mid level Spriggan 12 opponent, but Laxus edges out at the end since I think he should be at least mid Spriggan tier, and at best high S12 tier..

Wait, Chelia had everything in her favour and Laxus didn't? That's certainly not true. Yes, Laxus did get affected by his illness when he fought Wall. But when his illness came into play, he was literally overpowered by Wall all the way around. I'm talking about the part of their fight when Laxus WASN'T affected by it, and he actually had many things in his favour. For example, Laxus all of a sudden received a new spell that was super effective against him. It brought him into an advantage just like Sherria was due to her God Slayer Magic.

I don't get why you even complain about Wendy using an enchantment on Sherria while Laxus' ass was literally saved by Freed's magic..

And yes, Dimaria was restricted. But unrestricted Dimaria >>>>>>> Wahl and restricted Dimaria ≈ Wahl.

Oh yeah you calling Dimaria a Spriggan with high durability and Wahl with low durability was pulled straight from your ass. Dimaria was hurt from a kick from base Wendy.
Uhm, Wall was crushed into bits by the first spell that actually had effect on him. As for Dimaria, she was hit many times by attacks from full-powered Wendy and Sherria. She even withstood some attacks of TO Sherria, even though she had a slayer advantage. So yes, it's a fact. Unless you can show me where Wall showed off better durability feats.

Oh, and I'm talking about Chronos Dimaria not Base Dimaria. Chronos Dimaria didn't even flinch when DF Wendy attacked her :cookiestare

WENDY PHYSICALLY HELPED CHELIA WHILE FREED TAUGHT LAXUS THE JUSTU SHIKI ITS NOT THE SAME. That's like saying every fight Natsu wins is because of Igneel and Gray because of Ur and Silver. That is not comparable.

Wahl was crushed by the someone MUCCH stronger than him, that doesn't make him weak at all. Taking a hit from DF Wendy isn't impressive because she's much weaker than Laxus while Dimaria was getting hurt by regular punches from Chelia.

Laxus didn't use strong spells but neither did Chelia. Did we see her use high level God Slaying spells? No. Both of them pretty much defeated their respective Spriggans in one-hit. The only difference is that one was PoF and the other wasn't.

As for Laxus not using Raging Bolt and Dragon Slaying magic, it doesn't matter because his Red Lightning is already his strongest attack.

By the way, I don't separate non-DS Laxus from DS Laxus. To me, they are the same. DS is not a power-up. It's just another set of spells that Laxus can utilize.

By August implying that Ajeel would have died, hence why he opted to save him. I could settle for just doing major damage, but thats still WAY more then what Chelia can do.
I don't know about Chelia, so I can't assume. But I wouldn't be surprised if August reacts the same way when Chelia uses high level god slaying spells (i.e. Heavenly Gathering of Clouds).

DeS Gray was on par with DF Natsu back in Tartaros. So the fact that Natsu could inflict quite a bit of damage only makes sense that Gray's magic would "one-shot" Mard Geer. I put it in quotation marks because it wasn't actually a true one-shot.

Technically speaking though, TO Chelia defeated Dimaria in her base form (not god soul). She only used her god slaying magic to revert Dimaria back to her original form. So even Chelia's magic was super effective, the outcome was still because of her power.

Let me explain it this way. Chelia was always a god slayer. That never changed. So why did she struggle against Dimaria to begin with? Because she just didn't have enough attack power... So Chelia at GMG Laxus' level would not be able to one-shot Dimaria, let alone defeat her. GMG Laxus is sort of fodder at this point (his attack power isn't sufficient in defeating a Spriggan even with slayer advantage). Anyways, going back to my original point. Chelia defeated Dimaria after receiving Third Origin. Why? Because her powers simply increased.

I'm not saying slayer advantage is a non-factor. But to say it is the main reason as to the reason why she defeated Dimaria? Not really.

I'm not saying Endurance = Durability. But it is something that is also worth to consider.

I also don't deny that Laxus has better durability. That much should be obvious. But to say he has more endurance than Chelia? I wouldn't agree, especially since Chelia can heal herself. She also demonstrated her stamina and endurance in her fight with Dimaria when she was in good condition after taking multiple blows.

Someone like Gray who is more susceptible to taking damage (he always has blood over his body), still lasts just as long as Natsu (who is known for having decent durability). Just look at their fight with Mard Geer. Gray took more damage and was still able to stand longer than Natsu. Does he have lower durability than Natsu? I don't think so even though some say he does. But the outcome is all that matters.

If he uses one of his more powerful lightning attacks then yes he is OHKOing her.
The only way you can knock somebody out in one-hit is if it's a No Difficulty fight... which is not happening...

Depends actually. Chelia's speed is impressive in a way that she can maintain it for such a long time even when injured. Laxus' speed, on the other hand, is quite average... Not to mention, he can only gain a boost in speed for a short amount of time.

I don't know about you but if we're talking about the whole duration of a fight, Chelia's speed is a lot better and more useful in a sense. Therefore, I would rate it equal to Laxus overall if not better).

I would reply to this whole post but I'm on phone but did you completely ignore the fact that Laxus fought Hades right after Wahl??????????????
You mean a pre-timeskip Hades? The one that doesn't even have the actual power representation of the real Hades himself? Hades should be non-factor in his condition.

In case you guys aren't getting the point of my posts, I'm not here to say TO Chelia > Laxus. But to say Laxus stomps TO Chelia? That has got to stop...

Red Lightning is NOT his strongest attack. go read Volume 55 and you will see what Red Lightning really is. his DS spells are far superior than his regular lightning. that's obvious. he added the property to his lightning where Wall couldn't analyze, it bypassed his immunity and he got vulnerable to it. also, Sherria used Secret Art against DiMaria. big difference.

also, you said that Ajeel would win against Hades(no heart) with low - mid diff and yet heavily rekted and worn out Laxus managed to down that Hades when he used one DS move. sure, it was off panel but he received little to no damage prior to that move. heavily worn out Laxus did that.

also, we have that casual nuke from Laxus that would at least give Ajeel moderate to high damage and that's me being generous. Sherria' best damage output is having a huge advantage against DiMaria.

I'm surprised that you guys are not arguing over TO Sherria vs Natsu.

oh the headache. better to leave this thread.

bye.

No, I'm complaining about what nonsense Red Lightning was. In the end it's nothing more than a plot armour which was created to get rid of Wall. "Lightning that surpasses lightning". Uhu, it was truly a pathetic way to end someone who was supposed to be IMMUNE to lightning. But anyway, that's not the case here. Red Lightning brought Laxus in an advantage against Wall, just like with Sherria's God Slayer Magic against Dimaria.

And again, the part where Laxus' illness affected him in his fight against Wall isn't relevant here :cookiestare

Whatever you're trying to say, Jutsu Shiki is Freed's magic which was even emphatically stated by Laxus himself.

I don't care if Laxus "activated" it. Freed wrote it, so Freed did save Laxus' ass out there. It's the same as Wendy saving Sherria with her enchantments. Both of them got help from behind the scenes.

Wahl was crushed by the someone MUCCH stronger than him, that doesn't make him weak at all. Taking a hit from DF Wendy isn't impressive because she's much weaker than Laxus while Dimaria was getting hurt by regular punches from Chelia.
Damn who do you think Laxus is? A god? He isn't "much" stronger than Wall. He is slightly above him, around the leagues of a low or mid Spriggan tier at most. Wall being defeated by an attack that was nothing more than a punch boosted by lightning did show his durability is pretty low. Not to mention that it was just one, single attack.

Dude, Dimaria single handled a Dragon Slayer at its full power. That's already more impressive than being destroyed by some low AoE rated attack :cookiestare

Red Lightning is stronger than Laxus Dragon Slayer techniques, it's easily Laxus's trump card at this point which should make it stronger than all of his named techniques so far in the series

Etherion >>> Red Lightning. Don't know why people think Laxus could oneshot or mid diff Wahl when Wahl wasn't even taking the fight seriously and at the end of the fight he went mentally retarded for no reason. A robot went mentally retarded :notrust... yeah people need to stop acting like Laxus could low diff low-mid S12 lvl opponents when those low level S12 tiers give actual S12 trouble.

Please show me what amazing feats that Wahl's Etheroin has to be out over the move that one shot him? Wahl wasn't taking the fight seriously? That's exact why he changed his personality to become serious right? He took Laxus seriously despite being immune to all his attacks. But keep making up shit and contradicting what the manga says. And yes it became apparent Laxus is low-med diffing the weaker of the 12 when he one shot Wahl and was about to shit on Ajeel with a casual attack.

So you're crying plot BS in order to try and downplay Laxus' victory. And no red lightning wasn't an advantage, Wahl not being immune to Laxus' attack isn't an advantage

It isn't? LMAOOOO It fucking is and it's the only reason why he got pushed soo far.

HAHAHAHA. That in no way means that Justu Shiki is Freed's move that's Laxus thanking Freed for teaching him that.

Laxus is much stronger than Wahl. The second he was freed from his illness he one shot Freed. 'Nothing more than an attack boosted by lightning' HAHAHAHA by that logic anyone who loses to a dragon slayer is weak. Laxus is a top tier among the main characters and a high tier overall, not to mention red lightning should be one of his stronger moves, please get that bullshit out of here. If your only defense for Wahl's durability being low is saying red lightning is a punch with lightning around it, you don't have a good argument. Being one shotted by someone much stronger than you doesn't make you scrub.

Handled a dragon slayer? She handled the WEAKEST DRAGON SLAYER. Wendy is in no way comparable to Laxus, don't even try to compare them. Red Lightning>>>>>Anything Wendy has currently.

I don't know about Chelia, so I can't assume. But I wouldn't be surprised if August reacts the same way when Chelia uses high level god slaying spells (i.e. Heavenly Gathering of Clouds).

Not really.

The only way you can knock somebody out in one-hit is if it's a No Difficulty fight... which is not happening...

Please stop, Laxus was battered and brusied and Hades himself is still no pushover. Saying Hades is a non factor is striaght up ignroant because that is what pushed Laxus to his current condition, hence why he didn't pass out straight after the Wahl fight.

Just passing by, don't mind me! I just want to clarify something because i think there is a misunderstanding.

I don't care if Laxus "activated" it. Freed wrote it, so Freed did save Laxus' ass out there. It's the same as Wendy saving Sherria with her enchantments. Both of them got help from behind the scenes.
I might be wrong but i disagree with that. So one of us is wrong, that's what i want to clarify :P
Because in my eyes it is clear that Laxus in fact wrote the runes himself, not Freed.

In the first panel we see Laxus drawing rune symbols to complete the runes. The barrier gets activated.
In the second panel Wahl says Laxus was able to conjure the magic circle during the course of their frantic battle. Which means it wasn't just the 2 lines he drew in the first panel, it was something planned and done during the whole battle. Or just at the end when he was struggling on the floor and trying to move for 20 seconds while Wahl was taunting.
And i don't see how Freed would have written the magic circle. He had to know the exact location the fight would take place, that makes no sense to me.

Anyway, i don't know if i convinced you. But imo the magic barrier was indeed taught by Freed but made entirely by Laxus and all the credit is his. It shouldn't be compared to Sherria receiving help directly by Wendy.

Alright peace out guys, im outta here

EDIT: @BluePegasus i might ave misunderstood you though, that's very possible. I might look as a dummy as a result but eh. Who cares xD
