Well, once again long since I came here..Oh well, let's see.First of all, a very good review @Belserion ...I liked it but I disagree on NaLu point but it is ur view and I respect that.

Now for few other things,

Same man, I do it for fun as well. So, this post of urs is a bit different from ur previous post where u said it is bad to make other do reviews and then not post them......So, I do understand that u and I do it for fun and don't care but there are a lot others that do.Well, DOUGH's method clearly invites war and skirmish and I think we have enough already on chapter's thread. So, I fully decline his method of selecting and sticking to that. It is not SURVIVAL of FITTEST here , is it now ?

Yep, I agree here. Not a selected person but different persons everytime and as for figuring out which to post or how many to pot , I will explain that later on.

OK , this is ur personal opinion and I respect tht..Bur , how does this supersede other methods and which methods...Please explain. The way I see it is this is nothing but invitation of chaos and fights for future. As for other people u mentioned, no one has time for that...But , u do understand the simple fact that FT fandom here is huge and just a single opinion on a single thing varies from one person to another...People who liked certain panel but reviewer has his own point will surely look for other which satisfies their taste...As for consensus and cataloging , not even a single rule has been stated how it will be selected, what contents are to be looked or what r the methods for selection ............

Ur above written thing basically looks u r suggesting people to ditch the thread and don't read it or say it if u don't like and making it seem others are less relevant.

And no issue in FT until now has been solved easily.....I have been for quite sometime and it is very easily seen that no issue has ever been resolved easily....or rather some are not even solved at all... For example - If it was that easy, we would not require notices again and again , now do we ?

Simple thing I perceive from above is u r powerless for now as u have been instructed (by Blues or reds) to do so:nah.... and other thing is JOB SATISFACTION and easiness for mods and not people:nah...If u had posted this in the beginning , no one even would have begun argument as we do know there are things which are within and out of ur limits.:nah

Now as for rules :- I think for reviews , it is like this.
"For reviews that should be pretty intuitive: someone (regardless of whether it's a regular members or a staff member) posts a review, if it's good we're going to contact the creator and get their consent to post the review on the front page. The earlier a chapter review is posted after a chapter's release, the better (obviously). Also, we're not promoting a chapter review if the following chapter has already been released since discussion will have moved on by that point. That restriction does not apply to volume or series reviews though, those are fair game at any time. Finally, if more than one person posts a review, the first one will be featured on the front page and any others will be edited into the post of the first review as links. "

Cons of this :-

From above, The ones deciding..What are the rules ? Intuitive to one is opposite for other. So, when there are 2 characters fighting/......especially FT, there are people who are on both sides ....and naturally the chosen one will have bias towards the characters they support. So, in those conditions, how and which will be chosen and as u know , the people in FT section are most.. The reviews essentially are creating wars in there....It is already enough with these threads.. So, basically, that is what I want to say.

The lack of no proper methods, no proper decision, and lack of any specific path will turn this in to more troublesome things in future.

My suggestions :-

1) Select the no of reviews as per the content of chapter or its respective spoilers.See both conflict are seen in actuality context and includes satisfaction of both sides.

For example - This chapter was just a single panel and we have skirmish..So, in future, there are many more like END, ACNO, GRAY etc and it will be worse when there will be GRAY vs END or some other things.

So, reviewers will have their own stand on such characters. So, for that time, select 2 which satisfy both sides ...I mean which includes context from both perspective because even without reviews , it is salty enough to create skirmish and fights. This will only add fuel to fire...

So, basically, I m suggesting, select as per chapter's needs and see both conflicting parties have their own one which they want to read or can be satisfied with. This can reduce fire as well as maintain harmony between 2 or more conflicting issues....

2) Reviewers will be free to write their views . No need to hold back........

3) As for selection, MODS can decide how much are required and which 1 or 2 may include all aspects as well as see to the needs of FT fandom...U have been modding for a while . I entrust that to mods wisdom.

4) Give time limit within which they have to be posted...MODS will consider the reviews within time limit and decide from those which best describes and also satisfies conflicts.......The rest can post and they will be kept as archived...

CONS ;-

1) MODS duties will increase..Oh well, their duty and things are already increased by the way it is going and it will go..So,not much difference anyways with these system too.......

Well, this is for future reference because , the way @Brandish says, he is currently unable to do anything :heeand this method, if continued in future is surely going to cause a lot of skirmish and fights.....So , at that time, they will have 2 options

1) Change method somehow or make little improvement in existing one
2) Give notices of greens, blues as well as reds, followed by deletion of messages and bans...basically a concentration camp following.

Oh well, this is what I think..

And @Aizen , man, I also think some likes to put panels..and by mentioning that u were referring to me.Thank u for taking me in to consideration, bro but MEH, I am not much interested in making or asking them to change that as they already have issues with current method already. We both do it for fun.We r least interested in other things.:)

I already have other home FF .. If u get bored out here, come there.:super
I think you misunderstood a few things i meant man lol.
First of all i just said that for MYSELF only, others may take their reviews more seriously i simply do not know. While i do it for fun i can say if i were to submit a review and it not be chosen, i would be annoyed to have had to follow such guidelines. So once again i was just saying what i myself would feel, as that's all i can go off of. Another point i should make is i did not actually know that you could still post reviews below the first one, so i suppose they would not all go to waste that way either as long as people were ok with not being the "main" one that week.

I actually meant that for many people, but i do know you are one of them man. I post emoji's as well, so i it was more for many people not a single person. I also did not mean that as a suggestion to Brandish's review thread. I simply meant that a good way of doing things would be to have that thread for formal reviews under the guidelines, and the normal chapter discussion for any others (such as ours). Anyways i think this is a good idea @Brandish overall, and i hope you guys find a good way of doing things that allows many to share their thoughts, while also not being too exclusive. I am sure you will find just that. :super

Therefore, I am open to the idea where people who wish for their review to be featured, will PM a mod a few days in advance before the chapter is released.

From there, the mods would pick their frontline reviewer (first choice basically) for that week, as well as 2 or 3 back-up reviewers in the event that the "frontline reviewer" cannot make it unexpectedly that week or ran out of time in creating one...

Or maybe the frontline reviewer who PMs a mod is a troll and didn't make a serious review, which in that case, the post would be disqualified, and the mods would move on to the next back-up reviewer..

This way, we assure everybody there is no bias or surprises in picking the reviewer. Additionally, people get preparation time in advance, that way nobody wastes time creating a high-quality review.
This is a perfect suggestion tbh. I think it's way better when people can volunteer for writing a review before the actual chapter comes out. It would be more efficiently if a mod makes some sort of shedule where everyone can see when and about which chapter they will write their review.

Natsu vs Zeref ( Round 2)

Brotheeerrrr,
We meet again!
Last time I saw you, was back with your band.
I will slaughter and kill and i will not let it slide.
You might be panjandrum, but you can not hide.
You resurrected me as a demon, I will finish you here.
I will stop you bro, Nothing you can do dear.
Alverz empire, prepare your ass.
Now i'm coming to make a crevasse.
Celebrate now, The coming death of a king.
A slayer of kin, who covets all things.

How dare you, i kept in you an egg shard.
Resurrected your ass from the graveyard.
Soaked up all the Ankh curse just to save you.
You stupid little thing.
Was there nothing you could do?
Driven by your demon instinct? I do pity you.
But you've got to believe me. There was nothing I could do.
You got sucked away into this time that we now stand.
I remember the days, When we played hand in hand.
What do yo want more? How I wish I could help.
You always were, A stupid little whelp.
You think you're full of power, With no brain in your head.
Which is the reason why, I'm going to drop you dead.
You think because you're a counter, i will flee?
Haha i'm the legendary black wizard. Just come at me.

Base or not I'm ready to go, Standing in front of your spriggans
As a giant scarecrow.
Volcanoes erupting from under the ground.
stunning you in your place Leaving isn't allowed.
Bringing you down. and hold you in place.
Happy got to work. Shit all over your face.
Here comes the burst let's see how well you can mange.
you're going down, here's some collateral damage.

I was writing the review btw but i suddenly stopped to write this^

In my opinion, I think changing the way the "Review thread" is being currently handled is a bit unnecessary at the moment. The original concept of this idea was the most beneficial and efficient for the community...

Making constant changes such as these will open up more room for errors and miscalculations in the future. Keeping it as simple as possible will assure that the system will continue to function smoothly and properly.

We've honestly been only one week in, and I am voting to keep it static for now and see how it works as more chapters are released.

There is no reason to rush in perfecting the idea. We need to give the system time to adjust accordingly and naturally.
Well, I understand your point but I disagree. Changes are necessary when needed. I agree that we shouldn't be picking every single problem and fixing it. I actually don't mind whether links are present or not. But I do find the current system to be a little flawed. The problem with "first come, first serve" is that people will be rushing. Just take a look at the Spoiler Thread. The moment a spoiler drops, everyone rushes to be the first one to post it. Sometimes, you even see repeated spoilers in which moderators will have to delete the subsequent posts.

Also, for others, it's impossible to have their review featured on the homepage. The chapter is released during the day for some people, so its a lot easier for them to write a review. Meanwhile, it is in the middle of the night for others so by the time they wake up and finish working, everyone is posting their predictions for the next chapter (exaggerating a little). I'm thinking about the minority here, and I'm just saying that if we were to allow a whole day before reviews are picked, that would be more fair.

Not to mention with a whole day to write a review, they will be better in quality.

Apart from that, I do want to outline a few things:

1.) I don't know where people got the idea that the review on the homepage is representative of the Fairy Tail community.. This is an inaccurate and false representation of the original concept.

The review on the homepage is called the "Featured Review". In other words, it is just a single perspective on the latest chapter by a fellow member.

By no means is an "absolute" or overall consensus of opinions by the majority here. It is not showcasing what the FT fanbase has to offer, instead, it is a mere interpretation.

So, I actually don't see the point in putting links to everybody else's reviews... That defeats the purpose of a "Featured Review". Might as well just read all the reviews in the regular chapter discussion/prediction thread, to be perfectly honest.

2.) The way the review is chosen seems to be the main subject of debate. Although I don't mind the way it is now (first come, first serve), it seems many people despise it because of the "wasted effort that they put into the review".

First and foremost, a review should be something that a fan is passionate about... but I do understand that it is time-consuming to create a high-quality review.
I agree that the review posted doesn't represent the whole community. In fact, all it does is advertise the Mangahelpers' site which is important in itself.

As for the review being time-consuming, I don't see a problem with that. People should write reviews because they want to. It doesn't have to be considered a "job" so to speak.

I write one a few times and I really don't expect people to read all of it. Actually, due to its length, I expect people to skip over it. The only reason I write a review is so that I can express my thoughts. There is always someone that will read your post. Whenever I visit the Chapter Discussion/Prediction Thread, I usually read the reviews. I tend to skip all the sarcastic comments or one-liners that contribute nothing but salt (no offense). So I don't see why anyone would be against picking a random review from a list of them. The only downside is that it may be more time consuming for moderators and I realize that.

Here is Nemispelled's proposed idea to resolve this issue:

I don't think this is a good idea. Somebody already mentioned something similar and I refrained from quoting them. This plan really doesn't change much. I mean you are basically saying that the first person to PM a moderator will have their review posted which is no different from the first review posted being picked. Like I said, if you feel that writing a review takes a lot of time, then don't do it. I write one but it usually comes after 500+ posts.

Besides, this system is inefficient for the moderators because they will be receiving a lot PM's. Plus, people might PM more than one moderator so they will have to talk with each other to see who was the first one to PM them.

Honestly, I can see a lot more fights breaking out this way as well.

I am, however, AGAINST the idea of the polling options.

That concept will burn out fast because it is just way too time consuming for it to be prepared each week. You would have to set a time period for the polling to take place and then the chosen reviewer would need a fair amount of time in advance to create his/her post.

By that time, people will already be talking about next chapter.
Fair enough. I agree that my idea wasn't that great; hence, I told everyone not to take my post too seriously to start out with. But just to note, spoilers usually come out 4-5 days after the chapter is released. So you have a period of 2-3 days to get the review out. Even 1 day is fine. But the "first come, first serve" is more like an hour (exaggerating again)...

Well, we can't deny that it is time-consuming. Someone like you should know that a high-quality review/post isn't something you can dish out. And I'm also well aware that some people have very busy schedules.

Especially since FT chapters are generally released on Monday, where people go to school and work.

But as I said in my previous post, I do agree that people who write a review should be passionate about it. That's why I want the reviewers to know when their review will be featured, that way they know when to spend the necessary time to meet the post requirements.

Honestly, I can see a lot more fights breaking out this way as well.

My idea is a bit different. The "PMing the mod act" is not a first come, first serve concept.

Basically, what happens is, users will submit their name to a mod, saying something like "I'm in for a FT chapter review" in their PM to the mod.

The mods will then keep a list of names and randomly assign the reviewer for that week (or just go in the order of PM to be honest). Once the reviewer has been chosen, their name will be crossed out to give a chance for others to have their review featured.

This will eliminate the timezone problem.

When all names are crossed out and they run out of reviewers to choose from, then they refresh the list and start from scratch again.

I would advise this process to not be random. There is no benefit in somebody saying "What the hell?! I'm picked for review this week? Hell yeah!"

Except maybe getting a kick out of it.. but that's not what a review is supposed to be. It's supposed to be a serious post that conveys your thoughts on a particular chapter.

They should know their role before their week's turn to review for time and organizational purposes.

Ah, the power of cake. It'd be an interesting gag moment if that did happen, totally out of place but totally fitting for Erza and possibly Irene at the same time xD
Also, can I just say I ship @Brandish and @Crescent_jinxgrace on the down low because they both ship the solid pairing of Landi (Laxus and Brandish)? Possible contender for next year's Community Awards maybe? It'd lose out to me and @Yahate though :3c

Yeah even if the current way is flawed from the stuff pointed out it does supersede the cons of the other methods. Especially since FT is a weekly manga so it would just be the first come, best dressed cause I would want to read it before spoilers drop. I personally like only having one review (the one posted on the main page) to read and would really only read that review that's posted in the thread and not 5 other peoples, ain't nobody got time for that lol. I just don't wanna see that thread cluttered with hella reviews in my opinion of the same chapter even if told in different perspectives because if I wanted to look back on old review threads to understand a specific part better I wouldn't want to scour through the best review out of 5-6 of them. The main one isn't a consensus but it's better for cataloging. Rather we just keep the current for now, the picking of the one who does the reviews after wanting to do it is really the only issue which could be solved easily.
Or, instead of just one, what about top two? First place gets the prime feature while the second place gets a link or put below the first place?

I just don't like "first come first serve" method. Just look at Sleepyfans' Edited Mangas of Naruto with that method, and compare it to Binktopia's, who was about quality :arf

Before MangaStream took over and took liberties with translations :-_-

This method isn't bad at all, I just like giving the floor to one person since they were nominated to do the review. I feel like if there was more than one review we wouldn't give all the credit the main reviewer deserves. But it's whatever Brandish and the admins wanna do. One thing is for sure, that attacking someone over a review can't happen... cause I wouldn't want to do a review if fans come for my balls smh lol. Flat out

What the difference between putting review There and discussion Thread. People will read Both and have points they will agree od disagree and they will point that out ( Unless we will allow only positive opinions about review :heh) it's Natural we won't always agree on all points made by the second person.

If someone is writing a review he/she should be aware that People will agree with some points and disagree ..

I will later come for that balls:hurr

Ya I know, which is why I rather just one person gets exposure lol I just don't see the need for more than one review when there's already a chapter discussion. The reviews varying from week to week is perfectly fine with me. There will always be something people agree/disagree with like you said, attacking someone is way different though.

I will later come for that balls:hurr

I can see Mashima doing something like this and I would laugh my ass off if Mashima did this. Irene and Erza can then bond over cake, like mother like daughter.

Well, the benefit for top 2 is that it motivates more members to do reviews because they still get attention somehow.

more like, being asshole towards the reviewer/s shouldn't happen. Disagreements will happen, but being so rude shouldn't happen just because they called out a big bullshit on something and didn't say anything about something that could actually make sense.

Chapter we got today will be out in Japan on 28th December, so no, there should no chapter next week. Next WSM issue will be out on 11th January, but we may get spoilers earlier, they should be out on first week of January :) Spoiler schedule around New Year is always a mess :sweatdrop

Some very good ideas in here.

For now it's 'first in best dressed' because that's how I've been instructed. I assume this way is simplest, and easiest to manage for the moderators. The emphasis on 'first in' has the drawback of potential rushed reviews, but it also gets the article out quicker - since this is a weekly manga, a review is most relevant while the reviewed chapter is the current one. I'm not sure how youtube reviewers do it, but I assume they try to get them out ASAP.

I think the current way is fair; but like any method there are pros and cons. With feedback within this section over the course of the next few chapters, I'm sure it can be worked out so that it runs the best way possible. My own recommendation (should there be a lot of people interested in writing one) is to do reviews by self-nomination, so that people who have the time can write it, and so that many people get the chance to write one.

Only 1 review can be posted to the front page, however people are free to write reviews after that if they want to. The thread remains open because of this.
I feel like people are ignoring this. Anyone can post a review there at any time if they choose to do so. Just because it isn't on the homepage doesn't mean it's worthless

Last week was the double issue. This chapter was just early
