Finally had some time to read the chapters released last week:
The best of the lot for me was probably Chainsawman, loved how the fight concluded
Then there was Haikyuu, pretty intense chapter. Had me on the edge of my seat the whole chapter with all those awesome spreads and the cool action just to get a single point.
Dr Stone: pretty nice chapter, looking forward to knowing more about the twist that happened at the end of the chapter and what the consequences will be for the story.
TPN: nice chapter
Samurai 8: good chapter. The series overall is interesting but I feel like it's lacking in punch. I might switch to reading the series though volumes only when those come out as it seems that the story is better read this way instead as being focused on week to week developments like Chainsawman is.
KNY: only reading through the volumes so waiting for the next volume to be released to read from the chapter I stopped at (between 140-150)
MHA: same as KNY, only reading through volumes so gotta get back into reading the series at around chapter 220 as I feel the series is a much better read through volumes.

weird that MHA will put out a character book without a new volume on that date
anyhow, will we see the return of handsomER Todoroki?

speaking of Kubo, is anyone watching the Tokyo game show? I just saw Sakura Wars box art and thought it looks cool

also, I'm gonna go out on a limp and make a prediction that Kubo will talk about his next work in the interview

well, vol.25 & Vigilantes 8 was initially scheduled for October

but hori kept doing shorter chapters so more chapters per volumes needed to fill, it hence more weeks needed,

and Vigilantes just follow the main story at this point.

it would have been good synergy with s4 and all

IMO should have delayed it to December to coincide with the Movie

the only reason I can think of not delaying it is there is something in it that need it to be released at that time

so...

this and Boukyaku Battery are not on M+ for some reason
meanwhile KoLD8 and Moon Land are there

i don't understand why don't they pick them up now? if they can do 6 volumes of Land Lock they can do 1 volume from Interrogation Princess
I dont know when those series debuted but Mangaplus usually only do 1 new series per month, so they picking up something that isnt new is unlikely.

February - Arata Primal
March - SpyxFamily
April - Heart Gear
May - Nothing
June - Hina Change
July - Dear Sa-chan
August - Nothing
September - ???

Also, KoLD8 and Moon Land were series that got picked since the start of Mangaplus to have something exclusive for the new service. They served mostly as filler for the launch of it.

There are not enough chapters to fill volume 25 at present, so having to get something out they went for the datebook

Actually the length has always remained the same ...

No it hasn't, the last two arcs were mostly 15 pages per chapter. The earlier arcs were 17-20 per chapter. The most recent volumes also have more chapters per volume then before.

I hope not, I don't want twitter to filled with insufferable folks. I'm already dealing with Kishi stans enough as it is.

Also, I doubt Kubo is going to do another weekly serialization, Bleach really damaged him by the end.

Anyway, Chainsaw CP!

I know, I'm saying why did they pick stuff that are not doing well for M+ when there are stuff on Jump Plus that's doing better?
BB is the best selling sport manga on the app ever
Princess is written by a famous mangaka so it had a good shot of being a success
and neither of them are ecchi so why aren't they there?

I know I'm saying they should have push it back with the volume

technically that's consistent, he have been putting out 15 pages chapters for a while

interestingly, the last 2 chapters are 17 pages
more interestingly, the chapters that's coming out next week is 19 pages the last time he did 19 pages was 7 chapters ago
what's the common thing between them? both have covers and lead color pages (really makes you think)

Well it wasn't that consistent, MVA was all 15 pages but one chapter was 17 pages, and before that JT was all over the place with 11-17 page chapters.

I think Hori altered his schedule to reduce his pages to lower the workload. Understandable since he is both writing and drawing and bnha has a lot of drawing detail.

yup, mha volumes having been 11/12 chapters per volume for a year is definitely normal unlike other series that are 9/10 chapters per volume

I said "shorter chapters" , not "shorter and shorter chapters"

Yeah, but not the length that the series started out with. Earlier chapters were usually 18-20 pages, and volumes had the standard 9 or so chapters per volume, as the series went on, chapter length shortened to about 13-15 pages per week, and now more chapters are needed to fill each volume.

It's not a question of whether the series is meeting the standard page count per chapter, its an objective observable decrease from the start of the series to current.

Great interview. So this one is a more newer editor considering that he's just 4 years on WSJ.

But he worked on Black Clover, Jujutsu Kaisen and Summer Time Rendering so he's quite experienced already, I guess.

"At that time he had just finished his second one-shot manga in Jump, “Rokkotsu-san”, and I was the one who submitted it. Afterwards he told me he wanted to create a series, and we started working on “Haeniwa no Zigzag”, which after failing to be serialized would become his third one-shot publication. I continued to mull over how to make best use of Gotoge-sensei’s style and talent. I came to the conclusion that an easy to understand theme would be best. With that in mind we chose to work off of his award winning debut title, “Ka Gari Gari”. "

Gotoge is a girl theory ded??

Probably just the translation. Per the anime director, Gotoge explicitly keeps their gender a secret.

The Venn Diagram between Jump characters and the cast of Danganronpa shrinks with each passing year of the modern era...

it's just so unnecessary

like what does having a scar add to Tanjiro design? how does it make it more impactful? Kenshin having a scar isn't the reason Kenshin grabbed people attention
same with rest of the scared mc, takes the scars away and their design is still memorable

i bet you if you showed their images to 10 people then removed the images and told them to redraw what they just saw 8/10 will forget to draw the scars
