Whitebeard is epic, but just not the type of character to wriggle his way into my heart as a "favorite character".

Only GOATs like Usopp, Buggy and Bon-chan can pull that off.

And that's exactly why I didn't care for Dressrosa. It's not just that it was a long, drawn out arc with superflous characters I didn't care for, it wasn't even for the benefit of the Strawhats that remained. That arc was just to set up Luffy's growth as a Yonkou. Necessary, but nothing I was partically interested in seeing play out as it did.

Franky's fight was fine. It was just a fight. I don't care of the Tontatta, so him helping them didn't do much for me. I honestly forgot he did that.
Zoro taking on Pica, again, was just a regular fight. Fine, but nothing unexpected.
Robin didn't get any major moments. Her one time to majorly shine was stolen by Kyros and Rebecca, two of the worst parts of that arc.
Usopp, as already been discussed, had regressed greatly in that arc, to the point where he was about to abandon a crewmate.

To me, the WCI crew had much better moments that added to the overall arc and saga compared to the Dressrosa crew. Their character moments were significantly more well written than anything in Dressrosa. All of this is in my opinion of course.

Well, cannot argue on subjectivity, but post TS, it would mostly be wrt to the greater things at play and increased world as a whole. So, expecting just SH growth is kinda gonna end in disappointment most of the times.
Even in WANO final war, am expecting some to have greater panel time dedicated to them and some SH's will get short end of stick depending on contests. Much like how MF played out. Melee with all getting their moments.

Lot of points for daddy, although being dead for so long now.

Just an appearance in a chapter gives so many hype moments after all.

Aokiji is another surprising choice. I get it though. I'm more of an Akainu man most of the time.
