All Purpose Sig Contest Discussion Thread 2011

Submitted a sig for this week's theme. Mouse stopped working for some reason,so I did my best with the crappy laptop mouse thingy. I think this character was perfect for this revolution theme

The picture isn't showing up again. I had to pm tsukisama for her help, I'm kindda sorry that I failed twice.
Anyway, that Kamina sig caught me off guard and I..don't think i've ever seen such a manly render before

That Avalanche sig surprised me also.I didn't even think of them for this theme... it's quite good. I always like those kind of sigs. Good job

Despite all of the submissions using the same render, his submission truly did stand out from the pack and stood out from his usual style of submissions. For those who follow the Sig Contest regularly, you might not think this scenic beauty comes from kakashi919, who usually focuses on more action-oriented subjects and even mentioned in this thread how different using this render was for him. Well, it turned out beautifully and really speaks to your talent and progress throughout these contests.

"One Sweet Day" takes the thoughtful-looking girl from our selected render and sets her amidst a beautifully illuminated pasture with lavender butterflies and blue skies. The girl, who at first appears lost in reverie, upon closer inspection seems to be kneeling in supplication to the majesty of nature around her and becoming one with the scene as fairy wings sprout from her back. It is like a scene out of a dream, underscored by the gently appropriate lyrics that increase in transparency as one reads to the right, as if they too are yielding to the natural beauty and becoming one with it like the lass.

kakashi919, it is so excellent to have seen you progress in your artistry with each submission. I can't wait to see you climb even higher. Perhaps it is really at you where the girl's gaze lies. A job most well done!

A well deserved victory! Great job! I think everyone has noticed your progression and "evolution" in these sig contests. You definitely put in a lot of work in your sigs week in and week out dude. It's also great to see you approach certain themes in a different way than usual. Keep it up!

Unlucky, to the other contestants. There were some beautiful submissions last week and it was indeed tough to choose just one to vote for. Good luck to you all for the Revolution theme! This was really unexpected... I really didn't expect to win. All the submissions were really great,even though some of us aren't really accustomed to using that kind of render,all submissions were just beautiful.

@Tsukisama - That was one of the best speeches you ever gave! I have a really huge smile on my face right now It's always great reading your speeches.Keep it up (I think Tsukisama deserves an grammy award )

I'm really glad everyone thinks that I'm improving. It's really because all the great artists here help each other out and give great advice. Thanks for all the advice and criticisms guys!

I'm not being able to keep up with the thread and amost didn't vote last time @__@

hahaha that was the first thing that crossed my mind. Monkey D. Dragon.

Although it is tempting to make another OP-related sig, I decided to leave it for the time being. It took me a good week to figure out how I'm going to tackle this revolution theme and I'm quite pleased to say that I've gone with something a bit more exciting!!

Oh and those promotional signatures that I was working on have officially been placed on hold atm. I got to focus more on my studies this month. T^T

Yes it did, the day I saw the theme ... but I don't want to make a sig with bad renders :/
Anyway... I will give it more time. If I don't come up with something soon, I may drop this one too.

It's not a bad idea actually... Why not try using the dragon logo as a stock? I always liked how badass the blood dragon logo looked.
