At the moment you are in the cycle and your parents are poor, you are fucked in the US. And you have no way to get out except if you are exceptionally talented and also lucky.
The child has an opportunity to get out, they just have to be smart in school, take advantage of any opportunities offered to them, and make it to college even if they have to work while in school. A few years of working a bit harder than their peers will pay off later in life. Parents need to realize their actions play a direct role on how their childrens lives will be. Smart parents would have figured that out, and even ones that are living in adverse conditions can be smart enough to support their child even with just words to stay in grade school and encourage them to go to college. The current American higher education landscape enables the poorest of kids to go to college.

That is simply not true.
That is only true if the child is significantly smarter than anyone else in school. Then they might get a stipendium if they are lucky. if not, it's bye bye university, and by your logic, bye bye having a good job.

Leave out the parents now. regarding your logic, they are horrible people who deserve to starve for all you care (or at least you talk like that here9:
Focus on the child.
Fact is the child has no influence on their upbringing. It has also no influence on their intellect.
And if it is a normal child with a normal intellect, it is not going to get a stipendium no matter how much it tries. Simply because the rich kids with their tutoring lessons and less worries at home try, too, and get more help.
And then it will work in a McD and you will tell it that it deserved that.

And that's bullshit, plain and simple, and i cannot comprehend how you can say you are into christianity when you say things like that.
That is the most antichristian thing i have ever heard and i attend occult rock converts a lot.

Again the suckers who lost things in that recession made a poor life decision by living beyond their means.
This sentence alone is the definition of malicious ignorance. I once had the suspicion that you might look upon the poor and disadvantaged with contempt, but now it's obvious. How so very Christian of you.

If you have that huge debt why would you go out and purchase a house. 6 - 7K a month is plenty when you just have a resonable car and are renting an apartment even one as lavish as $3K rent a month. Employee sponsored health insurance is pretty cheap, gas is cheap, food is cheap, so yes, at 80K a year and living in reasonable accommodations people arent going to be stumbling around hungry making that amount of money even with a 30K+ education loan.
My point is that there are many things to consider in the adult life. Those are just simple examples that can slow down, if not, disrupt repaying a debt. It all comes down to the lifestyle and the obstacles in the future.

It is very easy, people just make poor life decisions. Saving for a kids college fund versus buying that mortgage to your 5 mln dollar house and having three new cars, the smart decision should be clear.
Who says buying a $5 million house w/ 3 cars is something every low-income people gets? Because I sure as shit don't know any low-income families who does such a thing.
You've completely ignored about what I've stated. I said that it's not easy to save up money to support their child because we don't know the future. There is no guaranteed clear-path that the money you've saved up for decades is going to appear in the future, which would not only be nearly impossible for that to happen, but also the unpredictable events that could turn things around. Here's an example: My dad works as a Taxi Driver, and he wants to save up some money for Hajj (Pilgrimage) in the future. However, because the Taxi company is losing business (on top of rent costs increasing), he couldn't save any spare money to put any aside (in fact, he's losing money).
And no, he can't change his employment job because there aren't any other jobs around here. If there is an opportunity at stake, then he wouldn't continue being a Taxi driver.

In other words: You can't expect the future to be perfect the way you think it is. If that were the case, then we'd have more rich people in the nation and better opportunities for everyone (let's also note that it would also enable the world to be at peace if we knew what the future would be like).

Again the suckers who lost things in that recession made a poor life decision by living beyond their means. You shouldnt need to have financial agents be the ones to tell you if youre capable or not capable of being a home owner.
Is this a joke? You're saying that people who lost their homes and jobs from a Housing Bubble that blew up and crooks who spend people's money made a "poor life decision" when they had no clue what the fuck is going on? If that's what you think, then it's no wonder why you're contributing to the problem that we are in. You're saying it's perfectly OK for those sons of bitches in Wall Street and many other places to commit White-Collar Crimes, but for people who were affected by those greedy sons of bitches are called "poor life decisions"?
If you really want to get informed about this, watch "Inside Job" 2010 Documentary, and hopefully that will give you an idea about how fucked up this incident was.

Haven't you guys realized by now that conservatives rarely live in reality, and that they make up their own fantasy world where bankers who cheat and rob people are good while laborers and fast food workers who work hard are somehow lazy and it's their fault; or how everyone somehow has equal chances at life; or whatever else bullshit they believe in.

I'm not blindly anti-conservative, at least like Gary probably believes. People like Shark and FB friends I know are why I'm anti-conservative.

No dude, you don't understand. Your dad made a bad life decision by choosing a low brain-power job such as a Taxi Driver in the first place. He also made a bad life decision by choosing to live where he did.

You see how callous and ignorant this way of thinking is when you personalize it?

Driver jobs are unfortunately going to be replaced by low cost alternatives and eventually automatons so its really the fault of start ups crowdsourcing the market that taxi jobs arent lucrative. Even if its a low brain powered job it doesnt appear that it hasnt enabled his offspring from having access to higher education opportunities further suggesting that my statements that people can avoid the fate of their parents is true and not a pipre dream or alternate reality as @M3J believes.

Correlation doesn't imply causation. Saying something about yourself doesn't make it true. Nothing about what you're saying here gives off "positive vibes" to me, sorry. You're either really this ignorant and clearly need to educate yourself in the ways of empathy and on the actual issues the average person faces, or you're just trolling.

And on the off chance that you are trolling, kindly fuck off back to the bridge you crawled out from under.

Wow...yeah. Says it all.

Well, for your sake, I do hope you're trolling. I don't really have much else to say on this topic.

Again, you seem to have never experienced real life at all, or you were born into a well-off family where you never had to worry about anything. There's no such thing as low brain powered job, only someone who is heartless, selfish, and egotistical would think of such thing.

The offspring would have to work twice as hard, at least, to make some sort of success. Wealthy people have it easy because they're connected and have money to solve problems, while poor people would have no connection and have no money to send their talented kids to a good college, which would prevent them from doing better. Many times it is a pipe dream, at least if there's no scholarship available or anything.

Of course he made a bad life decision, but that's not the point that I was making. The point that I was making is that shit happens in not the way you expect it (hence the inability to save up some money because unexpected reasons).
He didn't chose to live here; it's more of a personal problem that involves my family.

Ugh. It wasn't my intention in posting what I did, I was being sarcastic to prove a point...

And to me, I don't see the point in making value judgments like that, the result would always be subjective. Being a service provider or having a trade is nothing that anyone should be ashamed of. If more people took pride in what they did, society would be in better shape overall IMO. One of the obstacles to this is people trying to shame those who work these jobs or trying to say that people make too much money for the work they do, a la Trump during the first GOP debate with his "wages to high" moment. It's just a preposterous notion, and it makes me question the worldview of people who sincerely think that.

I agree with some of the things Shark says. People should not get married unless they get along and have the financial means to support themselves. People should not have kids before they can assure financial safety for the kids. People who are earning low should not try to live beyond their means. All of this is true. But the thing is you cannot control other peoples lives. You can't stop others from having sex, having kids, taking loans, buying things. Sometimes people suffer for their bad life decisions, sometimes for misfortune and sometimes it is a combination of both.

But the thing is if you are an offspring of a couple that made terrible life decisions, then does that mean that you should not get the same opportunity that others get? What's your fault in it?

Life is not that simple. Hard work doesn't always pay off. Our luck and our different situations play a major part too. That's why it is better not to judge. Its better not to label people who does menial work as lazy or idiot.

If we do social politics, we, in my opinion, have to get rid of words like 'ought' or 'should'.
We simply know that it happens that people get a child who are not ready for one. And that nasty divorces happen even if you try to play it safe.
We also know that it can change very quickly what your 'means' are. People are actively encouraged to buy stuff or even go into debt for buying a hosue or studying. If suddenly conditions change and they are screwed, that is not always their fault.
Or at least the fault is more along the lines of 'you were simply too easy to deceive'.

That is not to say that there are no people who screwed themselves over by being insanely stupid.
But if a lot of people are in a bad situation, chances are that we have to tweak the system.

I simply refuse to call a single mom whose life didn't work out the way she wanted to (for example due to a nasty divorce after her husband became an alcoholic) who does her best to support her children 'stupid' for making 'wrong life decisions'.
In fact it makes me angry if people do.
Most of the people who boast about working hard for their wealth had better starting conditions than most others.
And even the freak cases of someone who became wealthy after living in poverty are exactly that: Freak cases.
For people who are very bright and/or very lucky.
It's like lottery winners blame the loser for just not gambling hard enough.

Abortion is a good way to stop kids, though, so there's no reason for Shark to be against it. Condoms aren't 100% effective, only one thing is.

Real life is different from what we want. Bad decisions will happen no matter who you are, and life has a tendency of blindsiding you. It's not fair to judge people or hurt them in any way just because we have a set of beliefs.

Ive never called people stupid or dumb for making poor/bad life decisions. I dont think there is anyone who hasnt ever made a poor or bad decision, even the affluent people make bad/poor investments for example.

So why should someone who made a 'bad life decision' (which often is due to circumstance or poor bad luck) be punished forever in a job that cannot sustain his family?

I never said or implied or even am a proponent of the belief that people are permently stuck in their position. In fact, I think Ive made it clear that people just have to get a good education and make good decisions then they too can partake in the joys of a new American century. People are just lazy in these low brain power jobs and never want to get out, stuck working as a cashier at a fast food joint for years and years and years doing little to go to a 4 year accredited institution to do more with their life. Just last night I stated that people need to get degrees.

So apparently trump just threatened to put hillary's lawyers in jail. Did he borrow he 2-bit dictator manual used by every demagogue in south america? Make no mistake though, this sort of thing sounds sad but it should be treated as terrifying.

But you encourage policies that make them unable to do so.
You imply that they are 'lazy' if they cannot get out of a bad job, but this is just a flat out lie.

Fortunately, it is not like it is actually in the power of the american president to do stuff like that.
