Yep. If there's one good thing about all this though it's the fact that we're holding him to a higher standard than the Right were willing to hold Trump to. Biden doesn't have a cult explaining away his fuck ups. We're all calling him on his bullshit.

That's still a super low bar... And policy wise it's not like Trump is an alternative to Biden anyways. Imagine wanting paid maternity leave and a simplified tax code and turning to a republican. However that is probably the situation the US is in right now and a trump comeback is looking increasingly likely. Of course, it's great that biden is held accountable, he should be, but this unfortunately won't lead to him getting primaried and replaced as a candidate by someone better. So what we get is that no meaningful policy gets passed, he fails, trump comes back and there is no upside. Or who knows, maybe even then nothing fundamentally changes...

TBH my main issue is not that the policies Biden campaigned with haven't been passed. Biden is a president, not a king. My main objection remains that it just looks like they haven't really fought for them. I mean, there have been negotiations but a lot of the stuff that was removed was popular across the political spectrum but also removed by "democrats" manchin and sinema. Sure, their states are more conservative than most blue states but they also removed stuff which is popular across the board. I could have understood if they wanted to remove stuff which their constituents specifically don't support but this clearly went beyond that. There is always a concern about them loosing their states but... what did it matter that they kept them at this point? All democrats and their constituents get from them is them protecting their stock portfolios.

Mn, what's the difference? Is student debt something biden could have done something about unilaterally? To me the bare minimum that Biden should have done is simply go "people of Sinema's and Manchin's state... YOUR senators want x and y and z provisions removed from the bill... even though you actually support these provisions. Give them a call and let them know you support this (and don't give a crap about their donors and stock portfolios). And if they don't change their minds, don't vote for them again and instead vote for someone who will support the stuff you need.".

How so?

Because woke is just another way of saying sjw or snowflake. It's a way to dismiss the concerns of people as being "overly emotional" so that you don't have to address their actual claims. It shows either a lack of intelligence or a lack of empathy.

When Dr. Seuss's estate chose to stop printing two or three books because it was problematic, the right somehow thought that was cancel culture in effect and whined about it, but I've yet to see any left or liberal bring up how those books were problematic.

The irony here is that the right are just as happy to partake in "cancel culture," if it's with someone they don't agree with.

So I have followed up a bit on the rittenhouse case... What a stupid, stupid case. You have a fucking child crossing state lines with a gun which he isn't allowed to carry... Then he starts trouble and because US laws are idiotic it turns out he is the one defending himself. As in, laws in the US regarding guns are so staggeringly stupid that you can actually provoke someone (mentally ill or not) and when the provoked person does something you can defend yourself with lethal force. It's the george zimmerman stupidity all over again. I won't be surprised in the least if rittenhouse walks because he felt threatened...

Crocodile tears, or maybe this trial is a realization that accepting beers from adults for killing people wasn't the best way to endear himself. Or you know, be on camera punching a 13 year old girl in the face. It's astonishing how easy it is to paint someone as a victim when they look like Rittenhouse, isn't it? Too bad it's not so easy for anyone else.

This is the kind of behavior that is encouraged among those chomping at the bit to be police officers when they can't even drink legally, I guess.
