It would be weird if it didn’t continue even for a small time as it was left on a major cliffhanger, no plot points illustrated in the chapter were concluded.
the only way it wouldn’t continue is if the chapter didn’t sell.

The problem is that nothing is written in the magazine about a possible continuation.

Ah, the chapter is framed as a one shot... That's a shame because it's really good. I suppose there is a chance of a continuation in the future though.

That was pretty good. Respect to Kubo for knowing how to do a sequel series beginning. Take all the most OP characters from the original series and lock them away. Literally in this case.

And, yes, I'm just assuming he's at least toying with the idea of bringing Bleach back in some form since that was 100% what this one-shot was. This was most certainly not a standalone story in any way shape or form. This was written like it's chapter 687.

Not sure how I feel out the prospects of a Bleach return though. I mean, I enjoyed that world and all that. Before I read this chapter I would have thought it was just a doomed idea from the outset since I just didn't feel like there were anymore interesting stories left to tell in that world. But the new hell stuff seems like a legitimately fresh idea. Kubo may have found a way to draw blood from that stone. Lock away the former "main characters" and build a next generation type story around the less central characters. This is the set up you do if you want to bring in the likes of Harribel, Nel, and that sort. Which I don't hate, at least conceptually. There are some interesting story possibilities there.

Not saying Kubo is back for sure, but this being a oneshot doesn't mean we will not see it continue. Burn the Witch was a oneshot too. They might decide to continue if this oneshot gets good reception.

I might be jumping the gun a bit but as mentioned it doesn't seem like it's designed to not continue especially with the quincy arc anime coming soon. Kubo can sense the money flow coming.

Same here I really hope it's an original Hell character. While it's nice to see the returning characters it's much better knowing what the new characters could possibly bring to the plot development.
I'm a bit curious what similarities that hand and Ukitake has also what warranted the targets being impaled? Szayel didn't really do anything besides terrorising Renji.

Read the one-shot, and must say I were really positively surprised. It actually made me hope Bleach would continue.

Honestly, I didn't like the last few arcs of Bleach at all and I thought Burn the Witch was a snooze fest, so my expectations were really low. I thought this would be a new Boruto. But it wasn't. It was actually a loving sequel, where story flowed well, the new characters seemed cool and the premise was exciting, diving in the corner of the Bleachverse we still don't know a lot about.

For once, well done Kubo, well done.

Am I the only one that read a translation that said "Howl from the Jaws of Hell Arc" at the end of it?

Are you of the opinion that a single one-shot chapter constitutes an arc?

To answer your question, maybe.

granted, i'm not sure if soul reapers know where people go, it's just their job to pass them on. given the fish story, it doesn't seem like he would be particularly
torn up about it though.

Great to see a surprising return of Tite Kubo. Personally I wasn't much interested in the three novels or burn the witch, which both aimed to expand the Bleach universe, but this chapter / one-shot was truely great!

I very much so enjoyed the reintroduction to the "new" technology-affine Soul Society to a point that it tingles my mind thinking of all the aspects these new merchs have changed the old traditional way of life. It's nothing new per se, as we have seen the same in Naruto sequel before, but it worked for me anyways. And it got me pretty hyped about the potential continuation of the story making me realize that I missed Bleach in my life lol

Unfortunately fixing the quincy arc would basically require to double the arc's length. So that you can fit in a second TBTP arc, the context behind the quincy war and a lot of plot that was plainly missing from the arc. Also make room for juhabach to use zanka no tachi AND then volstandig.

Ehhh Zanka to Tachi had its moment. And it was an epic moment, easily the coolest sword in Bleach. . And Juha Bach was basically using Volstandig a bunch to begin with - his Auschwalen thing is essentially a volstandig just with the ability to decide where the captured power goes.

Juha Bach's actual motivation was left a mystery until the end. The nature of the soul king was a mystery right through the end. This whole "He is the qwisatz haderach" thing was also quite the mystery, same as the whole "he can manipulate the present...through the future?" thing. Oh and Ichigo's new bankai design was a jokeshow...AAAUGH.

So much potential. So wasted.

Bleach's anime has always been better than its manga-

they add backgrounds to kubo's scribbles
soundtrack is amazing
the fillers were arguable better than some of the canon material

i don't see why they would bring it back after a delay to just half ass it...

There comes a time to just cut your losses.

I know the anime is coming and there is the hope it will somehow spin straw into gold but I can't say I think that will actually happen. It might be entertaining and "turn your brain off and watch stuff blow up" kind of way but anything beyond that is a long shot. There is one good moment in there with the Kenpatchi Unohana stuff. The rest is pretty bad.

For the manga I feel like the only way to handle the quincy arc for Bleach if it does restart. Just pretend quincys never existed and move on. Treat them like anime filler. It's really all you can do with that. Everything and everyone too connected to that arc needs to just be... somewhere else. Because, personally I think 95% of it sucks. It's like the Naruto war arc. There is nothing redeeming in that story by the end. The only difference to me is that Kubo could still produce cool art.

If Bleach is to be good. I think it needs to work with all the things that got pushed aside in that push toward the final arc. Every Bleach fan in existence still wants to see Yoruichi's bankai. Every single one of us. And there are a lot of things like that.
