This probably isn’t the right place to discuss other types of Haki, but I’m curious as to your analysis.

Shanks CoC was strong enough to where it actually damaged whitebeards ship. Both of them had such strong CoA that when they clashed it split the skies.

My take of CoC is mostly that it is a burst of will that overwhelms those with far weaker fortitude. On FI Luffy knocked out 50,000 fish men and Oda said if Shanks was there he would’ve knocked out all 100,000.

Do you have a theory on what other uses CoC has? I mostly ask because of the situation where Shanks damaged the ship. I wonder if he could use it to shatter weapons or other objects.

I theorize that perhaps CoC can work on inanimate objects because of “the breath of all things” concept mentioned by Koshiro. Just curious on your take.
The first post on here has my analysis on King's Haki, but my Reddit version is far more updated: https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/61hn6e/conquerors_haki_explained/

Also did one on the Breathe of all things a while ago too: https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/6546tf/breath_of_all_things_explained/

Excellent observation in noticing the Shanks's Coc on akainu part.

Also , i would like to add that when luffy was about to be executed he wasnt afraid of death at all and smiled which means that
just like you mentioned that , not being afraid of anything and things along those lines, i think that moment in loguetown also confirms that his Coc will definitely be as strong as other people (who arent afraid of death either).

And since BB is afraid of death , I believe that would help luffy in overwhelming BB's Coc.

Your theory is similar to the one I have in mind and it was worded better than I probably would've done, I also think there has to be more to conquerors haki than we've seen, the power shouldn't be that big of a deal as it's made out to be if all it does is to knock out fodders, but then, one could argue that it's a big deal if 90% of my army is knocked out before we even start and we know how the marines cherish their numbers, anyways, it's a good theory and the chances of it happening are high.

Just curious, can conquerors haki be effective against someone on steroids?, I feel it may not work on weak minded Marines that are on weeds, because they won't be scared of anything or intimidated/overwhelmed, I'll like to know your opinion on this.

The way I see King's Haki, it's not subject to logic, so while this word may be colloquial and ugly, it magically forces people into intimidation, so anyone would be intimidated even with steroids imo.

Well that's weird, because reading your posts it seemed you were, even disregarding kkck's posts as fallacy.

All I'm trying to say here, is that there are tons of translations, and one word can be used for another, which is why we can't take it at face value.
One word alone is not enough to make a whole theory, or to make it sound like your cracked the secret of Conqueror's haki.
As for the examples you showed they can be explained in different ways, especially if we take Oda's comments about Haki into account.

So there isn't much substance to your whole theory at this point. Perhaps we need more data about CoC, that could suggest that it can normally intimidate. If not then I don't see how you can make your point here.

At any rate, please try to stay as civil as possible.
I'm sorry if this is going to sound rude but you seem not to get it, COC is the power to instill fear, to intimidate there is no other use for it that has been shown besides that, your whole argument just sound ridiculous and painful to read because you can't understand this simple fact!

With the recent amount of more Haoshoku Haki/Conqueror's Haki in the passing moments of each arc and surprises on who has it, I think it's good to make a topic of who we all think will get Haoshoku Haki/Conqueror's Haki and why would they get as well fitting them. This not much of a discussion of those who already been canon confirmed to have it (Though your welcome to talk about them if you want to here) as more so who we all feel who Oda might give the power to next whether it's a old character or new character.

http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Haki/Haoshoku_Haki

Lets all discuss our thoughts and be respectful as well peaceful with one another here please :).

Well first of all... Zoro. He already made a comment about it on fishman island that if Lufcy couldnt take out so much, they need a new captain. Also parallel to Rayleigh and Roger.

Akainu i go with it too.
Lucci would be nice too.
And here me out... Usopp. When he finally becomes a brave man of the sea i see him passing out some giants with this.

Zoro is obvious to have it, so I agree with you. Though I doubt he already have it. He probably unlock it later as that comment doesn't mean he has it too as he would have try it already.

Akainu.....Hmmmmm......I can envision why he has it due to his position and truly a strong guy who is determine in his own ideology of 'Justice', but also see him fine without though.

Rob Lucci? Might be a stretch on him having it. While I respect how stronger he has become, he lack other qualities to have it for sure.

Usopp?...Lol that may happen knowing how he does want to be a brave warrior of the sea and Oda troll on him and his reputation, but turn to have legit skill though as he did unlock Observation Haki though, so could unlock Conqueror's Haki especially he has a great bloodline of having Yasopp, his father among Redhair Pirates lol. So might not count him out.

Law stated that Luffy was using too much Haki vs Doflamingo meaning there is a finite amount. Does Haki all derive from the same pool? Seems like regular CoA burns more Haki the harder you push yourself as evident from Law's comment. Makes me think that since future sight is an advance form of CoO, that would burn more from the pool than regular CoO. I'd imagine you can train your Haki reservoir to grow as you use it more. If this idea is correct does CoC draw from the same pool? I always wondered why don't people just spam it more? It aint like you will run out of willpower after 10 minutes but I can see a newb run out of Haki in 10 minutes but not Luffy. Or Zoro. Or Sanji. I better throw both names in there before people start turning this into another Sanji vs Zoro

To get started from my end, these are people so far I think who can possible have it:

Gol D. Roger - He is the Pirate King and center piece of it all. He has a GRAND legacy of turning the world upside down with his actions and many feats to show forth and more to come that we haven't seen it. It wouldn't make sense at all that Roger doesn't have Haki when looking at the people related or with him being Whitebeard, Rayleigh, Oden, Shanks, Ace, and so on. Being in his position, pretty sure it safe to say, Roger knew all 3 types of Haki especially Haoshoku Haki/Conqueror's Haki definitely.

Imu-Sama - While he is recently new and we have no feats or that he even a fighter (probably will be as would be lame that Oda doesn't make him a fighter when hyping him up to deep lvls in Reverie), he has shown to be a very crucial and high point of being one of the center piece of OP as well true head of the Gorosei, World Government, and Celestial Dragons. So with all that hype, it make sense he probably have Haoshoku Haki/Conqueror's Haki on him already and if not, all the Haki Types as well.

Monkey D. Garp and Monkey D. Dragon- While we don't know much of how Garp's and Dragon's life is majority, but we already seen many feats of Garp as a strong-willed guy and probably one of the toughest Marines around too. As for Dragon, he is very notorious and leader of the Revolutionaries as well probably has the largest bounty in the world due to being 'Most Wanted' by the World Government. While we haven't seen him in action much yet, he is a strong-willed and calculated guy person that the WG have to put him as their top priority out of anyone else in the world. Plus since both are related to Luffy who has Haoshoku Haki/Conqueror's Haki himself, their is possibilities they have it in their systems already too with how great of a role they have in the series.

Dracule Mihawk - I feel Mihawk is one of the most obvious people to have it and not just for his reputation as the strongest swordsman and face a lot of people of his time and still, but also he is one of the few and possibly only Shichibukai/Warlord to go one on one with a Yonko being Shanks and tied constantly with him. With Shanks being a heavy user of all the Haki Types especially Haoshoku Haki/Conqueror's Haki, I feel Mihawk would have to be handle his clashes very well to not be that affected by his overwhelming Haki, meaning his Haki is just as good as his including having all types especially Haoshoku Haki/Conqueror's Haki to fit him. With his position and legacy, it make sense why he would have it and fit right in with the clash.

Second Batch!:

Marshall D. Teach/Blackbeard - Looking at the hype and mystery of Marshall D. Teach a.k.a. BlackBeard as he is shaping up to be, I feel it is necessary for him to know Haki and knowing how to use it. Especially knowing he is a "D." and leading of his own crew as well being a Yonko and trying to be the next Pirate King, all accounts point to him having Haoshoku Haki/Conqueror's Haki the most. This put him even more dangerous along with his powers and 'ways' of how he can have more than one DF inside of him and get others for his crew too. I feel it's only right for Blackbeard to be gifted with that power. While he has no lineage or bloodline of a notorious family or royalty of what shown so far, he still has his own right of having the power it is quite a ambitious and determined guy to get what he wants. As he grows and get stronger, no doubt will be an eventual face off with Luffy and his crew for the throne, so more likely to see Haki Clash happen when they fight again.

Trafalgar Water D. Law - I feel Law is one of those to potential have the power due to the fact he is a leader of his own pirate crew, Heart Pirates as well being a former Shichibukai. He comes from a very hard past and have tremendous strong will to still keep on living after it all, so it fits him with that for sure. Plus like many, he also want to go for being Pirate King and since he is often compare with his major rivals being Luffy and Kidd who have Haoshoku Haki/Conqueror's Haki respectively, it make sense for Law to have it on him too. Would be weird that he is the only one without it despite Oda present them the trio as the top tier of the Worst Generation. Plus we can also factor him being a "D." as a lot of known users have "D." in their name in having it after all, so make more sense why he will have it.

So yeah, he has a lot going for him and make sense why he would get. He could possibly unlock it already, but feels a bit weird why he hasn't use the power yet, but then again never been a situation to give him opportunity too and he is more 'exclusive' in keeping things to himself too. Though wouldn't mind him unlocking it over the course of the series too.

Vinsmoke Sanji - Sanji is one of the potential ones to have it and it make sense and not just because he is strong-will and determine person as for traits. While few might not see his dream much of 'conquering' anything, he actually going to face challenges of at All Blue as it probably going to be strongest sea of 'All The Blues' (Sorry for the joke, couldn't resist) and thus going be a lot of Sea Kings and strong creatures that he probably will fight with to cook them up for recipes. Plus there are chances there is someone lurking there having his same dream as him he could face when finding the sea or strong being there who is ruling that sea. Look at the other seas and Blues, there is a possibility of that and Sanji need to be strong for it as need to be a conqueror to tame the sea or anyone who gets in his way.

Also Sanji fits the theme of having royal bloodline or famous/infamous bloodline like the canon users as you see them being of royal class or famous lineage like Boa Hancock, Doflamingo, Big Mom, and so on. Sanji even though he doesn't like being compare to his family, still have their bloodline like it or not, so that insert more reason why Sanji could gain it as well since being rivals with Zoro, Oda will always keep these two at same level and insert who is better, so Sanji will have more reason of unlocking his like Zoro's to compete who can knockout more people with their power or stronger willipower, so it all fits in. Another thing, it already shown that you don't need to be 'true' head of a group to have the power as Rayleigh, Oden, Ace, and Katakuri work under Roger, Whitebeard, and Big Mom respectively and they have the power as well, so it wouldn't destroy the logic or anything for Sanji to have it as well. So I see him probably unlocking it later on in the process (Maybe even same time as Zoro to insert the rivalry more as how funny would it be if they use it at the same time and fight about who knock out who XD?).

Roronoa Zoro - Zoro for sure has traits to prove he is getting the Haki as while he might not be from a royal lineage like majority of the users, Zoro has shown to be quite a strong-willed fighter and determined person as well. With his dream of wanting to be the strongest swordsman in the world, he is expected to face a lot of challenges along the way and eventuality face Mihawk for that title. This comes with the ideal for conquering 'in a way' as he needs to be dominate for that position. Another factor could be, but shouldn't be too comparing on is that others compare him as Rayleigh of the group he is that to Luffy's Roger, but shouldn't compare them too much as Rayleigh does things and do things different than Zoro, but for sure I feel he is getting it more so on that because of who trained him and going after being Mihawk who I discussed above.

Would be awesome seeing Haki Clashes between the two as they finally fight, but not saying Zoro already knows it and Mihawk taught him how to use it. I see him not having it yet as there been chances to use it, and he didn't try to, so pretty sure it be unlock for him. Also like my statement above about Sanji, it shown already those who even work under someone, can still obtain it, so Zoro would fit right in for it too. Probably what I said above with Sanji on unlocking at the same time as him for a funny and epic moment between the two lol.

Usopp - I know this might seem farfetched as hell, but I am kinda with Sach on this as while yes we know we joke on 'God Usopp' and all, but looking at Usopp's dream and how he is developing, it's not as farfetch as you would think for him. Usopp is son of Yasopp, the best sniper of the Redhair Pirates and work under Shanks and probably the whole world. Now not implying Yasopp could have the Haki, but maybe could since he is top guys of the crew (Maybe, but I am feeling 50/50 about it) and it would make sense why Usopp is unlocking these Haki out of his bloodline as we all forget that his father is a strong and brave guy.

Speaking of which, since Usopp's dream is to become a brave warrior of the sea and have thousands of men working under him and such, he is slowly turning his fantasy and lies into reality. If that being the case, I can see him get stronger and develop more to be what he said he will be and possibly he could unlock Haoshoku Haki/Conqueror's Haki and become that as his Haki would knock down enemies without him doing nothing which he always try to lie about his reputation. This would be a defining moment for him as his dreams become reality and he set out to become who he is. He probably unlock it near end of the series, but it so worth it and promising when he does have it, don't you think?

Also like I said with Sanji and Zoro above, you can worked under someone and still have it so Usopp can be that type in the crew with them. I mean Roger had 3 people under him at this moment with the Haki being Rayleigh, Oden, and Shanks, so perhaps Sanji, Zoro, and Usopp will be the 3 of Strawhats to have it other than the Luffy, their Captain alone.

I hope Oda keeps it to a minimum.
It is. There aren't many users to begin with of you compare to all the characters in OP. Also Don Chinjao said there be more to come, so if we take characters words as Oda's voice, then it be like Don said too.

Alright here's what i think:

1) Dragon - He should have Conqueror's haki imo. He wants to overthrow the World Government after all.

2) Im - As the person who's leading the entire world, i would think he has it at least. Plus contrary to marines for instance, the Gorosei and Im seem to want to govern and reign over the world, not much about caring for people's benefits.

3) Mihawk - World's greatest swordsman... I'm sure he has it.

4) Blackbeard - I mean, if even a scrub like Eustass Kidd has Conqueror's haki, how the hell could Blackbeard not have it lol

5) Zoro - it seems fair that Zoro will eventually developp Conqueror's Haki, because is ambition is to surpass Mihawk (who imo has it). Plus, as the right hand of the future Pirate King, just like Rayleigh was to Roger, thisisn't far fetched to believe he will have Conqueror's Haki.

Some doubts about other characters:

- Garp/Akainu: imo they don't have it. He's a marine; no marine has ever shown Conqueror's Haki. I do not think any marine will ever will. The only "kind of" exception would be Im, who isn't a Marine and who's shown to be willing to govern at all costs, being and staying at the top.

- Sanji: tbh i don't see him having it ever. It just doesn't fit his ambition (or lack of ambition), his personality. The thing is, Zoro imo will have it for sure, and if he does, i don't see Sanji NOT having it as well. That would be kind of unfair to give it to one and not to the other. Despite thinking Zoro > Sanji currently, i think they're still always bound to have a rivalry and be kinda close to each other; and at the end of the series, i don't see them being world's apart. If Zoro developps Conqueror, i can see Sanji having it too despite the fact that i think it doesn't match with what we know of Sanji.

- Usopp: i don't get it at all. That seems way too weird that Usopp would get it. Like come on, what next. Chopper getting Conqueror?
Usopp wanting to be a great warrior of the sea is not a reason to get Conqueror. Remember that scene where Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Usopp and Nami put their feet of a barrel while vowing something about what they want to do? They all had a clear thing in their mind with the goals they wanted to accomplish. Usopp was the only one being pretty vague and not really having any clear goal. What does that even mean a great warrior of the sea? We can already consider it done tbh, he's a pirate in the New World.
His admiration for giants should make me think he'll get Conqueror's Haki? How so? I really don't get it at all.
Nami's goal is to make a map of all oceans in the world, meaning she wants to travel the entire world, all the way to Raftel. She doesn't want to "conquer" the seas, but still that is a better criteria for COnqueror's Haki compared to being a "great warrior of the sea". Even Robin would be more fitting for Conqueror, since she wants to discover the true History, so reading the Poneglyphs, opposing the WG, finding the Rio Poneglyphs all the way to Raftel etc.
Really though, Usopp? That's incredibly random. If Oda goes that route i really hope he'll at least find a credible explanation. Being amazed by the giant's might isn't enough for me to believe he can developp Conqueror's Haki, at all.

Is it just me or isnt Dragon already confirmed? Didnt somebody already said, that Luffy has the same color as his father?

Oh no no you are getting it wrong. HE will amaze the giants with it in a outbreak similar to Luffys outbreak in Marineford. Just imagine a broken Usopp, nearly death and then somebody mocks his dream, that he will never become a brave warrior of the sea and after an internal struggle, he raises to his feet, shouts his lungs out ---> a wave of conqueror haki passes out his opponents. Usopp the legendary hero is born.

I could do the same with Nami too. Having a goal in life alone isn't enough to developp Conqueror's Haki, otherwise half of the characters in the series would have it. Plus, as i said, Usopp's "dream" or goal, is one of the vaguest.

I agree with you on those who you feel can get it, that's for sure. As for the ones your feel that it might not happen, don't brush it off entirely as there is possibilities. Oda has surprise up with people we never thought have something especially this special Haki and proven wrong about, so you never know.

I am more for Garp having it than Akainu as Idk if it would be more fitting than him as it is for Garp. A lot of traits points to him having it more and your right no Marine ever shown it, but that doesn't mean one of them or few don't have it. I suspect Garp to have it the most out of them all as again a lot of qualities points him being a very probable candidate to have it and be the first Marine known that can go along with it.

Sanji while I understand doubt due to his dream, but finding the All Blue is a jarring task since if it never been found before and said to be the 'best' of all the Blues and possibly seas, it can go into a combative way as it's unknown what he could find there as could be many strong creatures about or someone as a protector or same/similar dream as him too. So having it for that is another trait and plus Sanji has shown leadership qualities of taking lead before and comes from a royal bloodline which many users of the Haki have on them as well. His personality while yes can be diverse on things, but when he gets serious and show his toughness, he is quite qualify for the task. Plus like you and me said, being rival with Zoro, would be another reason why he have it as Oda like comparing them and keep them as equal to one another.

I can see both unlocking it and plus since you compare Zoro to Rayleigh just because he is right-hand man to Roger and also have the Haki too, that doesn't mean they are the only ones who will have it beside the captain. So far looking at Roger's crew, he has 3 people with that power being Rayleigh, Oden, and Shanks who work under him (Also himself as well), so if we comparing that, Luffy will have 3 people who will have the power too (other than himself) which so far looking to be Sanji, Zoro, and at best probably Usopp.

Speaking of Usopp, who I know you see it very far off from him having it, which I can understand why Usopp doesn't look up to the task, but as I said above, his bloodline and also his dream are main factors on why he could be capable of having it. Plus his dream is more than Nami's who want to map the world and Robin's who want to find world's history. His is more battle-related from how it sounds, so to prove to be a brave warrior of the sea, he probably need to fight more fighters and show his fearlessness (Once getting passed his comical fear of his) and thus boost the reason of him having it. Also if this helps, many of us didn't expect Usopp to have and unlock Kenbunshoku Haki/Observation Haki before especially in the moment at Dressrosa and everyone was shock by that.

So we have to take account on Oda's unpredictable on who will have the power too and moments he reveal it on. So if he was capable of having Haki when we didn't thought, it's possible he could have something more inside of him.

Don't worry, i'm not brushing it off. It's not like i'm saying i know what will happen lol a lot of things will happen that i'm completely not prepared for. Garp or Usopp having Conqueror, as unlikely as it may seem to me, might very well happen.

Regarding Garp, he might have it, but i'm not sold on that. I don't see why he would actually. It seems contradictory to me, that a marine would have Conqueror's Haki. But as you say, i might be proven wrong.
If the manga never showed any surprising factor it would be kinda boring, so i would even enjoy seeing Garp, or any maine for that matter, have Conqueror. For now, it just feels weird to me.

Regarding Sanji, i don't know. Finding All Blue is a huge goal but so is finding all poneglyphs (while going against the WG) or mapping the whole world. Finding All Blue isn't any more fight-oriented than these other two objectives.
Sanji has shown leadership, that is true. Though i would consider him more of a strategist than a leader. The thing is, leadership qualities alone isn't enough for Conqueror's Haki, otherwise any leader would have it. Elizabello, Cobra, even Vivi etc. In terms of leadership in the Strawhat Pirates, Nami could be considered more of a leader than Sanji. But fair enough, this point i can agree with.
Same thing with Royal Blood... Being from a royal family doesn't necessarily mean you'll have Conqueror's Haki. Actually, aside from Oden Hancock and Doflamingo, no other Conqueror user have royal blood. And a huge majority of characters from royal families don't have Conqueror.
Really, despite the fact that i can agree with you on certain things, imo these things are just not enough to think Sanji would have Conqueror, especially if we consider his personality. The only thing that would make me say "yes, he will get it for sure" is his rivalry with Zoro. If Zoro has it, there's a good chance Sanji will too. So in the end, i can agree with you, despite disagreeing on the reasons why Sanji could be fit t have it.

Regarding Usopp... I just can't lol
Again don't get me wrong, i'm not saying this will never happen. As you're saying, the manga can (and will) surprise me on a lot of things, and that can be the case with Usoppp having Conqueror's Haki.
But yeah, i just don't see it.
His bloodline imo has nothing to do with it. You made a point with Sanji being from a royal family, that's not even the case with Usopp. Yasopp is a very skilled sniper, that is all, how is that supposed to make me thing Usopp will get Conqueror due to bloodline? If Yasopp only had Conqueror i could possibly get it. But we don't even know if Yasopp has it, he's just a skilled sniper.
His dream i disagree with it too. His dream, compared to Nami's or Robin's, is extremely vague. He himself doesn't even know what he dreams about. He started to admire the Giants from when he met Dorry and Broggy (or whatever their names were LOL), so now he wants to see Elbaf and he looks up to giants. But i don't see his dream being about being a "warrior" as the fighting aspect of it. Only the pride aspect. He will never (imo) be a fighter. That's exactly why he is a sniper, he's not fit for CQC or 1v1 situations.
It was a surprise that he got Observation haki, though not as surprising all things considered. He has never showed an Observation Haki similar to Luffy's Sanji's or Luffy's, being able to predict and react to his opponents. That would be more battle oriented, which Usopp isn't fit for. His CoO allowed him to sense a person aura frm a huge distance, which is perfect for a sniper.
Plus, having CoO and having CoC are two different things. Rayleigh said that CoA and CoO could be learned and trained by anyone; CoC on the otehr hand cannot be attained through training. Usopp might have CoO and might become very prominent with it, but i don't see him having CoC just because of it. Just like i doubt he will ever get CoA, since (as i said already) he isn't a fight-oriented character, at least not in close quarters. He's a sniper, CoO fits him, not CoA and even less CoC.
Really, i see zero reason as to why Usopp would get Conqueror. Because he looks up to giants? How is that enough.

Though again, i'm willing to be surprised by what Oda has for us.
Merry Christmas by the way. =)

I hope Oda honors the one in a million rarity of CoC but then again, there is a statement from Chinjao saying its not that rare in NW, however, it might seem not that rare because all those with conquerors haki gather in that sea.
If every second top dog in the New World would have it then its nothing special.
Not sure why Oda gave it to Kidd, i totally understand why Katakuri had it but Kidd makes no sense to me. I understand the rivalry between them but its also doable without CoC, Kidd was strong willed anyway.

From those characters that we havent seen using it I can totally see Imu having it, because i think he/she may be the strongest CoC user and thats how he/she rules the Gorosei(parallel to Doflamingo).
The most wanter man in the world would kinda be a disappointment if he wouldnt have it. I expect great things from Dragon.
I could see Garp having it because Luffy and Dragon could also have it but then again, no Marine has it so it may turn out otherwise but Garp is also the only black sheep among Marines, a D working for WG...
I dont think Zoro should have it either, its not necessary for him but he has shown so many scenes hinting towards it. Hopefully, it turns out to be something different, similar to CoC, unique to Zoro, a manifestation of his demonic spirit. So far he is the only one whose spirit has manifested.

All others, I dont see having CoC, simply makes no sense. Sanji has something similar, his flaming aura which we still dont know if its a gag or something more to be explored in future.
WIth the brutal raw strength that Kaido has I dont know if he needs CoC at all...
Blackbeard with multiple DF's needs no CoC either, no reason to stuff everything into 1 character...
