The other big reason I push for armour is that 'the knight' has defined Erza all series.

Just the same as Ice defines Gray in the series, when he received new power it was Ice DeSM. It would have been weird if he had another element like Wind or Water.

I'm open to her getting different magic, but I prefer her to stay in her lane.

Technically speaking if erza just gets an armor that kinda like gray gets a new ice make spell. Her armor are barely a mode. Mostly one spell
So she should become the knight dragon or something like that

Beside mishma doesn't know how to use erza armors. Otherwise start of series erza would have been near gildart tier
Basically erza uses different armors.and fail then dedefeats her opponent without any armour.

Now we know erza was baking inside a dragon for a long time. She has actually more right to turn into a dragon than natsu.
Before dragon thingy. I thought erza
Enchant her swords to explode or do didifferent things or next level of requip like reqiuping into enemies attack. Or unlimited blade work

But not an armour. Because that's not a new magic. Just a spell or a spirit in Lucy case

The fight is by Erza, the story is of her mother and her, the power of ERZA's mother, but whoever wins a new can is a WENDY.
I am reading this forum and I am very scared by the level of hatred that the people have against Erza.
All won UP, everyone can win UP, except Erza.

People keep saying Wendy need a powerup more tthan erza and little while later they will say laxus stomps erza extreme low diff. Natsu and gray have far surpassed erza.

Know how many people were saying juvia should have gotten a power up instead of gray against invel. Or she be the one take out invel.

Unfortunately, it's quite common. Luckily mishma like erza alot. So He is gonna keep giving her bs powerup like everyone else and Bs victories like everyone else

If Erza got some form of Enchantment abilities, that would be okay since her mum is the Queen of them (among other things).

She swaps them to fit a situation. There really isn't a wizard who has the combat variety she has.

Markarov didn't tank jupiter. He was just big. If laxus had durability as high as Titan markarov. He would be killed by it. The entire area Jupiter was big hole blackish thingyon mmarkarov arm

Lol i know she doesnt have the ability or is weaker than markarov

The point is how she uses her powers. Use it once and forget about it
If she used it like haru. Maybe she doesn't have that ability but it was never stated she couldn't do it like that.

She will use adamantine once and next time she will endure the attack.
Same with sourung armor blitz once and forget about it.

Why not mix souring armor blitz with benzikuru in mid blitz

Is the face palm really necessary I for one just think that limiting Erza just one armoer that is going to break and would be fairly limited attack wise when she has always been adaptable yet reliant on her own strength seems disingenuous to the character and seems like people think that the armor makes Erza not the other way around. To me there is no point for this armor to exist Irene would be the only who could credibly craft a slayer armor but then she should have been able to cure herself. If it was some legendary armor she found why would she look for it? Acologia isn't someone Erza would invoke a fight with and both times he attacked the guild was because of outside factors so why would she have it? Plus I think the main reason that Erza favors the fire pants is because Hiro got lazy with armor and an armor that badass would have to be fairly detailed so doubt it.

Agreed but she no longer wears it for same reason plus she would not necessarily have to stop, if learned enchantment it would be more likely she would mix them together, but in this case limiting her to one working armor would also go against Erza's identity

I actually don't think she'll get an armor upgrade. If anything, any power-ups will be dragonslayer related or enchantment-related.

Also, I'm thinking it'll be Wendy who gets the power-up. Erza will definitely get something out of the fight, whether it has to do with her powers or character development remains to be seen.

wrong. Precisely because Erza wears armor that she was not so strong, only when she removed the armor and wore the cloth pants she had identity and got rid of the fear

Yea I know she started to wear normal clothes (a part of her development), but that's why I said "used to".

However I do think they're a part of her character. And as an icon of the series.

It is an "icone" but as 90% fights as armors are broken and it wins without them.
That is, mashima does not connect well to icone ..
Just as the spirits of Lucy were "icone" and now she turned into an Erza using reequip of clothes with powers of the spirits. And with mashima joking in the talking contented was copy implicitly.

Mashima seems to want to vary the mains a bit. He is pushing them outside of their symbolic styles.

Erza is no different.

Natsu is about to become demon (although he will still use fire) thus moving away from his established dragon slayer motif.

Gray although still retains ice, has moved away from the two handed ice make that Ur taught, which was how he beat Lyon on galuna. He's constantly adapting as well.

And Lucy has a more requip style of her spirits now. And even has more casting magic with Urano metria, Aqua meta. And uses magic shots instead of arrows for her star shot. She barely summons the spirits any more.

So that's why I have been thinking Erza's magic will change.

But not sure what could be branched from her armors. Cuz like many people.....

I don't want her to change too much. nor do I want her to add dragon slaying to her own powers.

Maybe she could enchant herself (by-pass the armors) but that would be like take-over.....

The other thing I worry about is if Erza gets her mother's Phoenix dragon slaying powers. Specifically giving her an elemental advantage over fire. Only main fire user left that's a threat would be END. It's just something that crosses my mind when saw the Irene's fire wings seemed more angelic than dragon like.

And another thing would I would personally like is Erza to not be perfect at using the new powers. She can win her battle, but Gray, Wendy, and Lucy had to train during the time skip with their new powers from tartaros.... even tho they won their respect demon battles previously in that arc. In my head, I don't want her to go rescue Jellal from August...

...since Irene vs August was a teased.

And this is happening at same time the other battles are taking place.

Plus back at the end of tartaros Jellal said about her shining so bright that the world wouldn't need CS. Thus that could have been 100 chapters of foreshadowing of Erza defeating the person who owned CS.

I don't think she will get armor as I've been saying it would be pointless since that would practically the only armor she could use going forward but armor has been part of her identity. I think that both will get power ups it would be uncommon to say the least but Irene seems strong enough to justify it I am expecting a longer fight I'm betting on enchantment related power for Erza linked to her eyes as they have been a reoccurring thing with her. Wendy dual element and possibly dual Dragon force.
