"Better than Fairy Tail, because it has darker tone" is an overused excuse of EZ fans, In fact the darker tone ruins it and makes it worse, because it never folowes it through completley (lost a hand) or comes with an excuse to justify following it when it doesn't need too and overcomplicates things (Valk).
World Building? if you call different planets feel like the same planet (but different towns), than sure.
Mc main goal is a generic trait of every Shonen protagonist for no concrete reason, Go on adventure and make friends.
Likability of characters is questionable, more so it tryis to make you feel sorry for them from the get go, rather than make you like them. How long was it before we found out Erza was a child slave and Lucy was stuck with an Abusive (from grief) father after introducing them? Becca 2 episode, We know her tragedy.

Dude, at least can you add a SPOILER tag? The anime hasn't reached anywhere there....

I'm no EZ fan either, just got into it a month back. But there is no denying that it's far better than Alverass and whatever we've got in 100YQ so far

I don't know but maybe Mashima is bad at doing fight scenes except for maybe guild battles. Don't know about rave though.

Guild battles in the 100YQ weren't good either, but relatively better.

I think he can do decent fights, many fights pre Tenrou were good. Mard's fight was also decent

I think it's just that he no longer cares (esp about FT)

Debatable and subjective, it depends on which point of view you look at it. If you look at FTYQ100 as a new manga and compare it to EZ you probably find it better, but EZ has 11 arcs and 158 chapters while FTYQ100 has 90 chapters and 3 arcs. But if you compare FTYQ100 as a sequel, then FTYQ100 is ahead of EZ as it expands its universe and is much richer in characters, charisma, theme, pacing, etc, and try to fix some gaps in the plot of the prequel. In fact, FTYQ100 works more for me as a sequel than other series like Boruto, DBS or four knights of apocalypse

This way of thinking is completely silly, how do you take seriously a fight that lasts no more than 2 chapters?

Mainly a teased fight for a long time and let's not talk about , lieutenant , mini boss , boss fights with OS or casi OS.

It is a huge flaw that he does not want corrected and that his editor does not tell him anything.

And that ALL the fans reproach him and ask him to lengthen the fight.

This is a rather crucial piece of information. I think now I feel more comfortable saying Gildarts will beat a BDSK considering statement from Mashima himself. He'd probably appear when all BDSK's turn up. The goal of top FT mages is to reach Gildarts' level by the time they fight BDSK's. My guess is they will be Laxus , Erza and Jellal. Not sure about Jellal though considering his joke-like treatment in the sequel so far.
