I was just reading some old chapters yesterday and I realized something. Has Ultear demonstrated the greatest range in magical abilities? She has Arc of Time, Ice Make, Transformation, Mind Magic, and Requip. Those are 5 completely seperate sets of magic, which I think may surpass what even Makaov has shown (Titan, Fairy Law, Defense, Light).

I don't think so. You also have Makarov doing minor things closer to the start, like setting the complaint letter from the council on fire, revealing the transformed Macao who'd been pretending to be Natsu, and Kinana's backstory has Makarov being the one to break the transformation curse on her. He's also the one most likely to have set up the minor magics used for route control during the S-Class exam.

I was also thinking, how much more dangerous she would be if she left that orb behind and used a knife or gun for Flash Forward? Though that'd probably been too hax.

Personally I figure it's a matter of control. For a knife she'd have to account for orientation in addition to location when moving it about, which is problematic given that's she's moving it around using time magic rather than telekinesis. For a sphere on the other hand, orientation is irrelevant.

I would think the greatest range of magic was shown by hades. Chains, amaterasu, fairy law, magic bullets, demons, eye thingy.... and he taught the seven kin all that lost magic. Of course, makarov and gerard were said to have a wide range of spells outside of their primary stuff. Makarov was specifically said to use a number of different types of magic outside of titan and we have seen a few of those. Luxus was also said to have many types of magic at his disposal.

More or less. Theoretically, the timeskip chapter had been officially out in Japan for a couple of days, which is more than enough time for the information that there was a time skip to circulate in ways other than reading a Edited Manga. But Edited Mangas is going to be the natural thought of probably everyone involved. Not the stupidest thing I've seen as far as Edited Mangas and manga authors, but still pretty facepalm worthy, and kind of rude considering it was likely a spoiler for a number of people in the room.

Add FIRE also...I remember Makarov burning the complain from the Councilor members then Natsu ate it.

Erza can change her attacks according to her armor...we seen her using fire armor....and lighting armor...and water armor....list goes on....she can control all elements if you ask me...

Ultear could just age the armor and the swords until it turns to dust. IMO, Ezra could only beat Ultear with plot no jutsu.

I guess she'd need a "timeless" armor and weapons - ones that come from the beginning of time and don't age no matter what. Or it needs to be mixed up with living parts or parts from living beings (like dragon scales?)...

I thought the comparison started with how much "Magic" can Ultear use.....I'm not saying who can win in a fight between Ultear n Erza...

just that Erza can use all kind of elements so she can control...fire lighting water....so on...in order to do so she use the armor of that element....so she can control more elements than Ultear ....


btw....if she uses same technique against Azuma.....Ultear Arc of time...is useless......if we are talking who gonna win

Lucy's New Key?

In chapter 257, Father's 7 Years, we see that Lucy got a gift box from her father. We don't see whats inside it, but it's a long thin box. The perfect box shape for a key. Given that Lucy's father was married to and then raised a Stellar Spirit Mage, he probably knows at least the basics of the magic. And he certainly has enough money to afford a key pr two. And while the landlady says that "The letter that came this morning had seven years worth of rent in it", this is clearly an unopened box, not a letter. So what do you guys think? Is it a new key? and if so, which one?

About the two new DS introduced, I have my doubts of them being real DS. One of them seems to go against the norm with the DS we have seen and seem to have his guild tatoo over his left shoulder. It also seems like one of them is an iron DS which IMO would be quite strange. I would lean towards them being dragon lachrima users.

But then again they seem to know Gajeel and natsu and were trained by them and also DS tend to have cats I don't see Laxus having a cat and cobra had a snake...or rather Kirara xD

I don't think they were trained by natsu or gazille. The manga simply implied they looked up to gazille and natsu, nothing else. In all likelyhood natsu and gazille don't even know they exist.

Training Outcome

Hi Everyone,

I would love to know what everyone expect from FT members, and how they gonna develop to be ready for this coming event:

I'll start

Natsu: Control the fire lightning mode, but I hope he will have a session or two with Laxus about this matter.

Wendy: With Levy help she will be able to finish what she's reading before the tournament starts.

Lucy: I'm really looking forward to see what kind of spells a Stellar mage can learn.

Gajeel: Secret training....he has a good partner. I have high expectations for him.

Kana: Would love to see her preforming some CRASH magic.

Laxus Team: They are already OP not sure...about that part. Although imagine "Freed" faster in casting his restrictions spells how handy that would be ?

I really hope Natsu gets considerably stronger in his basic Fire DS magic ( at least up to Elza's pre-timeskip level or a bit stronger) and also learns how to use Fire-Lightning DS Mode. And I expect him to use all his basic attacks in this mode.
Wendy will surely learn those two spells and maybe get a bit stronger overall in her Air DS magic.
Gajeel and Lily will both get stronger. Gajeel will get up to Natsu's pre-timeskip level or a bit stronger and Lily will have way longer perioud of usage of his Edolas Mode. And I also hope Lily will get physically stronger.
I also hope for Luxus to get stronger. More or less closer to Gildatrs pre-timeskip level.
Also it would be great to see Happy developed in some way. I also want him to fight like Lily.

Well, my only expectation is that merely staying in the stellar spirit world will have granted them a greater volume of magic, basically the idea of the stellar spirits would have been to make a gift for all of them in that regard aside for the party. I do expect natsu to have a little more control over his lightning flame however I also expect the lightning to be a temporary factor here, it does not seem like the sort of thing which should be permanent.

Natsu: maybe a dragon force form would be good and more lotus flame attacks or rather secret fire attacks, maybe lightning mode and fire god mode control but it seems it wears off after a while.

Wendy: Good control over the spells she got and expecting some new offensive spell and a defensive spell

levy: i rather think of her as the strategist

Lucy: another key probably, maybe the tournament reward might be the last key as i suspect her father giving her the other one (or maybe one of them), SPELLS she needs spells, im pretty sure celestial mages are strong when they combine spells and their holder magic.

Gajeel: With lily they can refine some sword techniques and iron dragons secret spells so he's quite covered

Kana: crash magic would be cool, but her card magic is not bad, maybe a combination that would work just for her

Laxus Team: maybe bettering their teamwork

gray and Juvia: if these two team up it could help training together so i'd expect more powerful and refined spells from both

Erza: OH MY GOATS she's kill them all if she gets more powerful :/ no but seriously some armor for far range combat maybe?

takeover siblings: i want to see some other forms from Mira im sure she has more, Elfman should take over other beats souls! an Lisanna should refine her takeovers maybe add more animals and such.

i wonder if lucy can summon and fight with 2 spirits at the same time. Ffor example archer and leo at the same time, experts in close and range combat + Lucy Kick to finish off an enemy

I think that's her next step in growth. We know that the more summons you have out, the more magical energy is consumed. That's why she's training with Capricorn in ch.261(?) to increase her magical power.

I hope she gets there soon so we can see some celestial double teams and such

Hahaha...I really miss "Lucy Kick" I hope Mashima use it soon hehehe..so far the best finish move in Fairy Tail...it's more epic than Fairy Law xD

Makarov got nothing on Lucy...he can't do Karate xD
