I guess popularity of FT's not on its way down. That's nice to hear :3 It means Japanese liked the arc, or so I think.

You're actually looking at old information there. Volume 28 came out back in August, and that's just the first sales. Second week it fell to third place and third week fell to 17th place, and fell off the top 30 weekly sales chart after that with the last known total sales being 442,512 copies. All told it'll probably sell around 500,000+ copies this year. Pretty standard for a volume of Fairy Tail these days. Though Volumes 26 and 27 don't reflect that, but that's because they had a limited edition version as well which is counted separately and split the count. First week sales data for volume 29 should be coming out sometime this week. Also note that 440k+ sales in three weeks on the chart is very very good. 150k+ sales and two weeks on the charts is just very good, and new series are lucky to manage 30k+ sales and get on the chart for even one week.

On a different note, for those of you that didn't know, or just forgot, the New York Anime Festival was this weekend, and Mashima was at the Kodansha panel. Here's a rough transcript someone posted:

Note that the panel was held by the people responsible for publishing the manga in the US, and in a large convention like that, they can reasonably assume that a number of people in the room will either be following only the anime, or only the US release of the manga. So they were kind of limited as to what question they could answer.

Anyone has a clue on what this is? After all this chapters even with grimmoire heart gone, the black dragon trashing tenrou island and zeref appearing we have no clue of what this is. It kinda looks like the dragon might have used dragon breath there though.

My guess would be one of the Keys was under there and the 7 Kin (mostly Ultear probably) excavated it to find it.

i found it interesting that there 7 zeref keys. And there 7 Kin people from GH. Could it be that Hades created and taught them specific forgotten magic cuz each of them was supposed to get a certain key? And maybe it could be done by a certain magic? Like 1 key required time magic, another imagination magic? Just thinking out loud

It was never said there were seven keys. Heck, in the chapter where hades asked for the key he asked for 1 key apparently.

Oh wow, someone just straight up told Mashima that they are reading Edited Mangas. I'm not sure how ridiculous it is. I understand
how someone wants to know that reason but seriously..

More or less. Theoretically, the timeskip chapter had been officially out in Japan for a couple of days, which is more than enough time for the information that there was a time skip to circulate in ways other than reading a Edited Manga. But Edited Mangas is going to be the natural thought of probably everyone involved. Not the stupidest thing I've seen as far as Edited Mangas and manga authors, but still pretty facepalm worthy, and kind of rude considering it was likely a spoiler for a number of people in the room.

From what I could read, Lucy's father is dead. 亡 is a kanji that means "die, perish, be not".

By the way, it would seem that just like Lucy is named from a Beatles song, so is her dad. ジュード (Juudo) is what the name is listed as, which I'm thinking is Jude. As in Hey, Jude. I can't figure out if Layla comes from a Beatles song, though.

Layla is a very famous Eric Clapton song

- Hey Jude (The Beatles)
- Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (The Beatles)

Its all from the same Era of music so its interesting.

Well uhm not directly the concept however he did start with a romanji written name Lucky - k. So he always had the romanji Lucy in mind, added to that the name layla and now her dad Judo/Jude. Tbh it might only show he loves music of that era. And nothing more. Also that he keeps grabbing back to Musica (the musica-blade that the cat took haha). So Music is prolly his thing.

I believe he mentioned in an early volume (perhaps volume 1) that he got Lucy's name from listening to a Beatles song, and Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds is the only song I can think of with Lucy mentioned.

Plue itself wasnt all that important in Rave other then being the presence that is always there. So i dont think its coincidence however it most likely wont play any important role. Just like Lilly getting his very own Musica sword wont say that Musica himself will show up :P

So far Mashima has a lot of references in FT from Rave.

-Elie showed up once as cameo.
-Plue is the dog spirit
-Musica swords all over the place :P

So the stellar thing is just a fun thing he put in i think. However i could be wrong ^^.

I was just reading some old chapters yesterday and I realized something. Has Ultear demonstrated the greatest range in magical abilities? She has Arc of Time, Ice Make, Transformation, Mind Magic, and Requip. Those are 5 completely seperate sets of magic, which I think may surpass what even Makaov has shown (Titan, Fairy Law, Defense, Light).

I was also thinking, how much more dangerous she would be if she left that orb behind and used a knife or gun for Flash Forward? Though that'd probably been too hax.
