Yeah, I also initially thought the same thing as you. To me it seemed like Sting was the leader for Sabertooth and Lyon was the leader for Lamia Scale. But after going back, I realized that Minerva and Jura were the leaders to their respective guilds.
If You See The Animie Erza is Potrayed as The Leader.It was definitely Erza. It was shown indirectly on the cover of Chapter 316.
The leader is always the first one listed. You can tell by the icon for Leaders and Members. Not to mention there is a pattern with the other guilds too.

Also, one more question. This has been a lump in my mind. Was Phantom Lord a dark guild? If I am not wrong, in anime Juvia said Phantom Lord was a dark guild and under Oracion Seis' control. But if this was correct, why was PL's master, Jose Porla, given the title Wizard Saint?

Technically it is still correct that Jenny had used "Take Over: Machina Soul" in the battle with Mirajane in which she transformed into a well-armoured outfit. The exact extent of her Machina Soul is unknown since she did not get to extend further of her ability and was defeated by Mirajane in one-shot. This scene was shown in both manga and anime.
