Thanks, I forgot about this panel. Giltena seems bigger than Arakitashia and Ishgar both. Weird how Team Natsu got from the southern tip where Valeria is located to the centre of the continent, where Draseel is, so quickly lol.

That's because we don't see the rest of both of the continents, right? We just see the edges of both of them.

Also, didn't they take like 10-15 days between Merc and Aldo arc? Considering train and all that, maybe it's somewhat reasonable?

Anyway, we shouldn't try to calc and estimate distances from inaccurate manga drawings lol.

I was just reading through Aldoron arc and noticed stuff that indicated Mashima had no idea what to do with white witch, and was basically making stuff up on the spot

Seems like Mashima wanted to do something with her, and then decided he can't be bothered with all that.

What a terrible waste of potential. 89th chapter is likely the last we will see from her.

It truly is a shame, she had the potential to be an awesome villain, her not being able to touch the orbs was interesting and should have been explored more. Were they blessed or something? Did Mashima ever give a reason on why she couldn't touch them, or was it just she can't touch it because of reasons?

no its not been explained, and to me at that precise moment, Faris was really the white mage for mashima and the story but really, there was no story that it was fake or whatever.

I wonder if Mashima still has plans for the or a White Witch, if I remember correctly, didn't Faris say something about her just adopting the persona of her? So, maybe Mashima has something planned for the real deal.

I liked the hype, the build-up, the mystery enveloping Faris back then. Her design is pretty decent too. But when it's revealed she's just being made use of, my head ached lol. And now even Selene had her embarrassing moment too early...

I wouldn't mind that twist, Elefseria being the true villain and him wanting his competition (Dragon Gods) out of the way.

Nah, Granny isn't her, Faris took the identity of the true White Witch when she got to Earthland. I really hope we get to see the real one, and that she actually gets some good feats.

Her reaction to the orbs was visceral to say the least. I mean, half her body crystalized.

Obviously Mashima made up everything on the spot, but it was clear that he, at that moment, wanted to do something with the character, and she was in fact the white witch in Mashima's eyes

Then he scrapped all that, invented this whole "Faris" character, made her a tool of Selene, and gave her a laughably bad sob story.
So, when Mest came to her a few chapters later, her crystallized body magically vanished.

Garbage tier writing tbh. So yeah, at this point, she couldn't touch them cause reasons

I'm pretty sure at the moment he drew the panels I posted, she was 100% the real white witch in Mashima's eyes.

it will be a collaboration with some other game as in his last "great and important announcement". but if he's not a troll again then I hope FT City Hero is adapted to anime. or that FT will come back to do weekly again. nothing else matters. (I don't think FTYQ100 still has anime, usually it always has a long season and so far the manga has 3 arcs)

Looking back, the Elentir arc strikes me as an instance where an idea was set up, but someone in production (be it Mashima, Ueda, or someone else) ultimately didn't like how it was going, and arranged for it to end earlier than originally planned. I say that not only with how quickly it's resolved (assuming it began with chapter 65, and ended with chapter 89, it was only twenty four chapters), but also concepts that seemed to have been set up, only to be dismissed fairly quick. I see that in the brief sub-arc when the girls (plus Happy) were tuned into yokai; the fact that they gave each one a complete design, and set up powers they had (Spirit Power), implied to me that this conflict was meant to go on a bit longer, or maybe even go in a different direction that what ultimately happened. For all we know, maybe the original idea was for Selene to be defeated by the heroes in this arc, but they decided to keep her relevant in the story for longer.

Note that this is only me offering an idea; don't jump on me for it.
