I think they will end the second season either with the end of the second Nether arc or with the beginning of the training with Benimaru. Don't think they will cover further than those two points.

But where's Kurono ?

He will find his way to Amaterasu eventually (probably his superiors will order him to come lol). After all, Amaterasu is technically related to Haijima.

Nataku shouldn't disappear too ?

Oh, I forgot that (probably cause Nataku was the only Pillar that wasn't shown disappearing). Then more reasons for Kurono to come lol.

- They arrive in front of a huge gate they manage to open with an external battery despite being out of power. - Before they go inside a large plague mask with a black robe appears suddenly behind them. - Lisa pushes Giovanni back and Yū is frightened.


- Vulcan asks him if he’s okay but Yū says with an extremely positive attitude he is fine. - Giovanni thanks Vulcan for the key and Vulcan claims that he stolen his ancestors’s. - Vulcan asks Giovanni if they’ll find Pi inside and he confirms it.

- Giovanni reveals that Pi is the destruction spell that the Evangelist prepared since ancient times. - He adds they managed to solve Pi. - Vulcan says it’s impossible but Giovanni claims that it was true before the Great Cataclysm.


- Now that the world has changed, the physics law was altered as well. - Since it’s solved, mankind has reached the end of the evolution according to a theory that destruction is the end of the evolution.


- The desire of death that they imagined is the image of the Great Cataclysm. - Vulcan replies that this is just a cult. - Giovanni reminds him that religions and cults are the same and the Evangelist is the one who brought their extermination in mankind’s mind.


- Such as the worship of the sun and its image of destruction so they can go back to flames and to the sun. - Vulcan doesn’t understand what Giovanni means by sun and death. - Giovanni finally reveals that the sun was created during the Great Cataclysm.

Chapter CCXLVII (247) spoilers: - We see a glimpse of Shinra’s face in Adolla. - Meanwhile, Vulcan reports what Giovanni said to Licht through a wire. - Licht thinks they have to believe it while he looks at the 8th’s battle. - Lisa counters Giovanni’s attacks.



- Giovanni reveals that his ancestors collaborated with Vulcan’s to build Amaterasu 250 years ago. - Vulcan’s ancestors found out Amaterasu’s true power after hearing the first pillar crying for help and sealed it by creating a key which brought Giovanni’s to look after Vulcan’s.




- Giovanni admits that he murdered Vulcan’s father and grandfather for disobeying to Adolla’s will. - Lisa still fights against Giovanni but can’t hurt him because his body is just a bunch of insects making her feeling uncomfortable.




- Vulcan cheers her up and tells her he has a plan. - Yū takes a machine out of a bag that is supposed to expand Lisa’s magnetism. - Lisa uses one of her tentacles and its magnetism pushes back all the insects that was making Giovanni’s body.


- His head falls and what looks like spider legs are remaining. - Vulcan looks at Giovanni’s real form and tells him he looks miserable.

Yes. Atsushi was obviously inspired by FMA in some ways, in fact Soul Eater and FMA were both in the same magazine and both mangakas used to do a few crossover drawings so it's no surprise really.
