It's hyperbolic to say Yamato on my, I hope that point wasn't lost. It isn't a fact that it is Kaido. We never expected two Yonkou to be in a fight this arc, there could possibly be someone else who Luffy has to fight before leaving Wano or on the way out.

On the Haki issue, the manga has factually given us three branches of Haki and not once has it ever been implied that these branches overlap. Luffy himself stated that he needed to use Kings Haki, showing a distinction to what he is currently using.

The implication in this thread is that they somehow overlap and are just stronger versions of each other. This would contradict the whole introduction we received of Haki.

It is fact within the manga that not everyone has Kings Haki, you are born with it or not. Those who are extremely proficient with armament like Luffy is but don't have CoC would never be able to achieve CoC coating because that is a separate branch of Haki.

On Yamato and CoA internal, it really doesn't mean she is stupid, just that she didn't think of using that application. Let's say Zoro or Sanji develop internal damage Haki as a natural progression to their CoA, would this mean they were stupid or simply just unaware of such an application? Was Zoro stupid not to know how to cut steel or was he simply inexperienced in its application? The same with Yamato, simply inexperienced in its application.
Exactly where I am , the application isn’t exactly straight forward , she’s only seen kaido ise it in a particular brutal fashion
It’s easy to say it’s impossible when in reality it could just be reader bias with all ideas and understanding being there

😂 Haki doesn't disarm bombs. It's just more powerful. Just crush the cuffs. It's not rocket science.

Reason it can't be broken with any other form of Haki is... it's not strong enough to break it.
Point still stands, Luffy had to be shown its application and had to practice how to use internal destruction. Whether you like it or not, this is not a skill Luffy or Yamato could magically figure out on their own.

Note: Isn't an item that is filled with explosives a bomb? The unabomber should have got this memo that he wasnt sending out bombs, just really bad boxes and mail.

It's common sense. They said the lurking legend will be Luffy's toughest opponent to date, and you brought up Yamato? You forgot she's an ally? Common now, lol.
It was a hyperbolic statement to prove my point that who it is is not set by your interpretation. Still stands that it could be a third person.

Wrong. He was learning to activate it.
So they had to actually learn to be experienced in using it. Like how you'd have to learn its application to figure out how it could break inanimate objects like cuffs that can explode.

You keep adding to my point.

It's the dumbest Idea to claim Yamato could activate Internal Haki, and couldn't come to the conclusion that if she just squeezed the cuffs, it'd break, lol. She needed someone to tell her the obvious, sure bud.
Once again, what you disagree with is not dumb. Yamato could only know it's application in terms of combat. Why would he risk blowing up on something he has never ever seen work or its application? Luffy only made that connection because of Rayleigh... We have panels that prove this.

Imagine needing someone to teach you to just use common sense to break.
The application of the technique is not common sense. You can use that word until it loses meaning but the point still stands, it's not an ability that you inherently know it's many applications.

Imagine thinking "how do I break this thing with this power that makes me 10x stronger". It's the height of stupidity
It really isn't. Appealing to extremes isn't going to drive this point across.

Luffy didn't even need anyone to tell him, he simply squeezed the cuffs and threw it away. Apparently, that's rocket science, lol.
He actually did. He needed Hyogoro and Rayleigh as an example.

You're just being ignorant is all. Luffy more or less said King's Haki goes deeper than Armament.
Don't move the goal post. You have to prove with manga panels that CoC and CoA overlap. That was the discussion, not that Kings Haki makes Luffys attacks stronger.

I know you can't so Il enjoy how you try to shift this to some random argument or overuse the word "wrong" like it makes you right.

If you say 2+2 = 10, me telling you your arithmetic calculation is wrong or bad has nothing to do with ego, just facts.
Problem is, this is not arithmetic calculations. It's literally you saying a and b are the same letter.

A = CoC
B = CoA

Prove where in the manga it is implied that these branches overlap. Don't tell me your interpretation. Come out here with facts.

Wrong buddy, lol.

Luffy didn't know what Haki was at Sabaody, so it would just have looked like breaking a cuff. So, he wasn't shown Haki since he couldn't recognise it as anything more than hand movements.

Really senseless point. The cuff explodes if you break it.

So, why do you need to learn to break something that simply requires crushing with one's hand that's going to explode anyway?

Your reasoning here is nonsensical, lol.

Reason your logic is laughable is because you're claiming Yamato knew how to activate Internal Haki. If she could, why would she need to learn to squeeze a cuff? Your logic is pretty disjoint and putrid. Your argument is lacking any sense, it's nonsensical.

Once again, what you disagree with is not dumb. Yamato could only know it's application in terms of combat. Why would he risk blowing up on something he has never ever seen work or its application? Luffy only made that connection because of Rayleigh... We have panels that prove this.

Luffy broke the cuffs without thinking, so he wasn't making any connections, he was acting out of desperation. He only made the connection after the fact.

Big Mom appeared, he knew he had to destroy it there and then, so the idea he had to think of Rayleigh first before just removing the cuffs and throwing it is laughable. He was acting out of desperation, it wasn't some calculated move.

Your argument is silly because King's Haki is doing exactly what Armament is doing but better, lol.

You simply have to be delusional and be in denial to say otherwise.

Armament Haki is all about strength, and that's the entire point of King's Haki, making attacks stronger.

Problem here is you can't grasp it.

I think the series made the point that Rayleigh used internal-damage Haki to destroy the devices inside the bomb before it exploded

The device inside? Isn't the device inside the bomb itself? Since the bomb did explode in both explode in both case, the devices weren't destroyed, I guess.
What was destroyed was the collar itself.

The cuffs still exploded, so they were never disarmed. Entire point of disarming a bomb is so it doesn't explode.

All Haki does is make attacks more powerful. Barrier is not as powerful as Internal, and King's Haki is superior to even that by the looks of it.

On another note, it seems Kaido actually has no idea where the Road Poneglyph is located, so that's probably another reason why he has to stay in Wano.

I can't post screenshots ATM but chapter 939, 940 and literally the start of 947 where Luffy recalls what he saw Rayleigh do.

Those chapters focused on Luffy learning how to apply that form of Haki. He already had a foundation of what it could do with Rayleigh breaking/disarming the bomb.

Luffy did, he just broke the cuffs and threw it away. It's not rocket science, lol.
Yeah it's not rocket science, which extends to it not being rocket science that he saw an earlier application and aimed to replicate it.

Chapter 947 proves this.

Wrong.

Your context is non-existent.
  1. Pre-skip in Sabaody, Luffy couldn't see or discern Haki, that's 1 thing you clearly don't realise.
  2. It means when Rayleigh broke the collar in Sabaody, he wouldn't have known it was Haki.
  3. When Luffy broke the cuffs, he wasn't even thinking of Rayleigh. He was just desperate to save Hyogoro and himself.
He only though of Rayleigh after he'd done it and realised he did the same thing as Rayleigh. You don't have your facts right bud.

Your argument only holds water if he first though of Rayleigh, and then did it, but he did it and then realised he'd done the same thing.

In fact, right after he did it, he had no idea what he'd done. He did it without thinking, he was acting on instinct and desperation, not because he was thinking of Rayleigh.

Those chapters focused on Luffy learning how to apply that form of Haki. He already had a foundation of what it could do with Rayleigh breaking/disarming the bomb.
Nope, this is why your argument is nonsensical. He wasn't thinking of Rayleigh, all he did was:
  1. Grab the cuff.
  2. Crush it.
  3. Throw it away.
You're making it sound like he had to get a masters degree to do something so brain-dead easy.

that he saw an earlier application and aimed to replicate it.
Wrong, he couldn't have aimed to replicate it when he didn't know what Haki was, he couldn't even discern it pre-skip, lol.

Really senseless point. The cuff explodes if you break it.

So, why do you need to learn to break something that simply requires crushing with one's hand that's going to explode anyway?
It wasn't a straightforward conclusion and you don't have to just have armament Haki strong enough to break the cuffs otherwise Hyogoro and Luffy would have done so as they were both proficient at basic CoA at that point.

The fact that Luffy did so in a desperate situation, as a last resort means it's something where the connection is not made immediately.

Chapter 947.

Your reasoning here is nonsensical, lol.
Don't try and distract with small insults. Prove your point.

Reason your logic is laughable is because you're claiming Yamato knew how to activate Internal Haki. If she could, why would she need to learn to squeeze a cuff? Your logic is pretty disjoint and putrid. Your argument is lacking any sense, it's nonsensical.
You are too busy trying to invalidate... While not disproving my point at all.

Luffy saw an application of internal destruction Haki from Rayleigh, was taught how to properly apply it by Hyogoro. He didn't miraculously think il use CoA to remove these neckbombs.

There are manga panels of Luffy recalling this very thing.

Luffy broke the cuffs without thinking, so he wasn't making any connections, he was acting out of desperation. He only made the connection after the fact.
No, no he didn't. Before Luffy even got to that desperate situation, he was already remembering what Rayleigh did. Throughout, the basis of the training with Hyogoro was to replicate that form of Haki application.

What he recalled after the fact was confirmation that he pulled off what Rayleigh did which was the goal from the start.

Big Mom appeared, he knew he had to destroy it there and then, so the idea he had to think of Rayleigh first before just removing the cuffs and throwing it is laughable. He was acting out of desperation, it wasn't some calculated move.
Luffy wants to replicate what Rayleigh did, Hyogoro teaches Luffy that form of application, Luffy does what Rayleigh did, Luffy confirms that's what Rayleigh did.

If it was as simple as just destroying the neck bombs, that whole montage was unnecessary as they both had powerful enough Haki to do so.

Your argument is silly because King's Haki is doing exactly what Armament is doing but better, lol.
CoA = The power to coat oneself with Haki to make intangible things tangible. Added bonus of causing internal damage at advanced levels.

CoC = The power to overpower those with weak wills, added bonus is to coat your attacks with it to make them stronger.

Layman explanation sure but those two things are not the same. Don't move the goal post.

The idea is to prove that CoC and CoA overlap, i.e. have the same function.

Armament Haki is all about strength, and that's the entire point of King's Haki, making attacks stronger.
Could you please post the explanation of Haki given by Rayleigh.

Problem here is you can't grasp it.
Disagreeing with you is not an inducement of anyone's intelligence. Stop wasting time with insults. Get to the heart of the discussion and provide the proof that these two things are the same.

So, you're saying King's Haki... doesn't make attacks stronger then?

And only Armament Haki makes attacks stronger?
Don't put words in my mouth.

CoC and CoA do not overlap.
CoC and CoA are not the same thing.

Nope, common sense, he wasn't strong enough to do it, and he powered up when faced by a moment of desperation, lol. You can't even understand something so simple.

Calling something nonsense isn't an insult, stop being so sensitive, lol. Snowflake rebuttal.

Nonsense just means makes no sense, yet you're crying like it's an insult? Common now.

No, no he didn't. Before Luffy even got to that desperate situation, he was already remembering what Rayleigh did.
Sorry, but you're clearly lying here, lol.

When he met Hyogoro, the only thing he remembered about Rayleigh was BARRIER Haki.

Hyogoro was teaching Luffy Barrier Haki, lol... so the idea he was already practicing INTERNAL Haki is BS, factually so.

Convenient of you to ignore chapter 946, lol.

No where while removing the cuff in a desperate situation is he thinking of Rayleigh, so you're lying or you have no memory whatsoever. You're generally just factually wrong, lol.

What did you say again? Before he removed Hyo's cuff, he was thinking of what Rayleigh did? When he initially had no idea what he'd done?

Before Luffy even got to that desperate situation, he was already remembering what Rayleigh did.

Your claim is false. This is chapter 947.

It's AFTER THE FACT he realised he'd done something Rayleigh did. He was never intending to copy this move, he did it instinctively.

You're literally spouting nonsense in terms of the accuracy of your claims, lol.

Luffy saw an application of internal destruction Haki from Rayleigh, was taught how to properly apply it by Hyogoro. He didn't miraculously think il use CoA to remove these neckbombs.
Lol. Hyogoro never once taught Luffy Internal Destruction, like I said, read the Manga.

He miraculously used Internal that Hyogoro himself said is beyond what he can teach, lol.

It's just so devoid of any scintilla of proper reasoning that using a power that makes one stronger to break something hard... requires being taught, lol. It's just dumb, it's like saying someone needs to be told that a cannon can destroy a wall knowing full well a gun is weaker than a cannon.

Your argument is hilariously bad. The flaws are outstanding to say the least.

The irony of you to even bring up ego here is someone with an ego is the someone that can't accept facts or be honest or truthful, lol.

Ego is what stops people from being honest and can't admit to being wrong, so in a pretty poetic and sanctimonious way, you're being a hypocrite as you're guilty of what you're trying to call me.

All you're doing now is saving face by playing victim and twisting facts (e.g. He though of Rayleigh whilst/before breaking the cuff), really?

Honestly, you really think this is valid point? Oda hides things from us all the time, lol.

Yes, the description of King's Haki is to overpower the weak-spirited, but common sense... clearly, King's Haki does more than that since Oda has shown it does that. If anything, that's the weakest form of King's Haki, knocking fodder out is the weakest form of King's Haki or expression of it based on current info, lol.

You're really going to claim Armament and King's Haki aren't doing the same thing? Just because King's Haki was said to just overpower? I'm guessing the above are both just Armament right? Got it.

So, Oda can't add additional information to things anymore, lol.

It's impossible for King's Haki to be able to both overwhelm weak-spirited people AND also increase the power of attacks too? Got it.

They probably just used the invisible versions of those. Which is perfectly reasonable within the series' context.
How is that reasonable post time-skip? We've seen invisible Haki used for Ryou expulsion only.

Still, what are the three types of Haki and their application?

How do you not see that you are arguing against your own point here? If it was as simple as breaking the neck bomb, Luffy would have simply crushed it with his Haki.

The same thing you call Yamato stupid for not doing.

Luffy had to learn the application of internal damage to be able to utilise internal damage Haki. There is a learning curve.

And you bringing up him doing it subconsciously, still proves my point, he was in a desperate situation and had to learn how to actually use it after.

Yamato was not in a do or die situation. The cuffs were merely there to keep him from escaping. Had they been in the same situation Luffy and Hyogoro were in, he probably would have done something drastic as a survival instinct but still needed to learn its actual application.

Nope, common sense, he wasn't strong enough to do it, and he powered up when faced by a moment of desperation, lol. You can't even understand something so simple.
The whole subplot was about Luffy learning advanced application of CoA. What he did was channelling what he was learning in a desperate situation.

The end result remains that Luffy had to learn, like how Yamato would have to learn the application of the technique.

Calling something nonsense isn't an insult, stop being so sensitive, lol. Snowflake rebuttal.
Like I said, stop with these insults and throwing random words to try and distract from your inability to actually back up a point.

Non of this actually aids your argument.

Nonsense just means makes no sense, yet you're crying like it's an insult? Common now.
Trying to provoke really doesnt work Hannibal.

When he met Hyogoro, the only thing he remembered about Rayleigh was BARRIER Haki.

Hyogoro was teaching Luffy Barrier Haki, lol... so the idea he was already practicing INTERNAL Haki is BS, factually so.
Regardless, Luffy saw a demonstration of a technique which he wanted to replicate. Whether internal or not, it's something he needed to learn, which could be applied to Yamato as well.

Convenient of you to ignore chapter 946, lol.
I'm just taking a page out of your book.

No where while removing the cuff in a desperate situation is he thinking of Rayleigh, so you're lying or you have no memory whatsoever. You're generally just factually wrong, lol.
Because he is in a desperate situation. He didn't have time to think what would Rayleigh do. Him confirming that this is what Rayleigh accomplished proves it's something that was always in his thoughts. He wanted to learn advanced application of CoA which he did.

What did you say again? Before he removed Hyo's cuff, he was thinking of what Rayleigh did? When he initially had no idea what he'd done?
I did? Il revisit the post, I'm pretty certain I said he wanted to replicate what Rayleigh did.

You nitpicking what I have said in an effort to find a situation where you come out as right really means nothing.

Prove that CoC and CoA are the same or do the same thing, post the mangas description of what CoC, CoA and CoO are, not your interpretation of them. Otherwise it'll just be you constantly saying wrong and trying to find little victories.

Il go back to the initial statements made, you have to prove these. Don't care how much texts you use, just evidence those and that's that.

Don't post your interpretation as fact and call anything that goes against it as wrong unless you have hard evidence to prove that point.

Again, you're making delusional claims.

Reading back to what I said
Luffy made the connection of what he did to it being internal Haki because of Rayleigh.

I don't recall saying Luffy remembered what Rayleigh did then took off the bombs. Il check my post history to confirm. Otherwise don't put words in mouth.

And lastly, here are the points that you are defending

1. CoC and CoA overlap and one is just a stronger version of the other.

2. You do not need to learn or have an example of CoA application to be able to apply it - since it's common sense. (Hyogoro was teaching Luffy flow/advanced Haki which goes to internal damage).

This is very unintelligible logic.

If she was able to activate Internal all this time, she'd have removed her cuffs ages ago.

And you bringing up him doing it subconsciously, still proves my point, he was in a desperate situation and had to learn how to actually use it after.
Nope, wrong, lol

He was learning to Activate it.

It's application and use is obvious. Armament is for increase the power of physical attacks.

Unless one has the IQ of a gold fish, it doesn't require being told:
  • You can use Haki to break stuff.
To crush a cuff and break it, lol.

Lol, you're literally lying at this point.

I said Luffy never thought of Rayleigh when removing the cuff, he was NEVER practicing Internal Armament, but BARRIER.

And then you said "He was already remembering what Rayleigh did" claiming he was thinking of Rayleigh removing the cuffs before he did it.

1. CoC and CoA overlap and one is just a stronger version of the other.

Then you must think Luffy and Hyogoro are using Armament here then. You're clueless if you can't tell Luffy is using King's Haki to damage Kaido.

2. You do not need to learn or have an example of CoA application to be able to apply it - since it's common sense. (Hyogoro was teaching Luffy flow/advanced Haki which goes to internal damage).

He never taught Luffy Internal Haki, he said he can't teach him that, lol.

You're literally being delusional if you're claiming Horgoro taught Luffy Internal haki, lol.

Was searching for this post.

The basis of the Haki training Luffy received was due to him remembering what Rayleigh did.

Did he not recall Rayleigh's barrier Haki? Did he not later recall what Rayleigh did at the Auction?

The prerequisite of internal damage Haki is flow. Did Hyogoro teach Luffy flow?

Did Hyogoro later not put Luffy in challenging situations to practice what he has learnt?

At this point, we will be going in circles and until you prove that

1. CoC and CoA do the same thing (which is not backed up by our knowledge from the manga). Until then, your interpretation is the same level of IQ as the rest of us and doesn't make it fact.

2. You do not need to learn the application of advanced Haki and it is common sense. Until then, Il stick to the training subplot Luffy went through that cumulated in him doing internal destruction. Meaning, once again, your interpretation is no more factual than the rest of us.

Lol, you're being technically disingenuous and dishonest here.

He wasn't trying to learn INTERNAL, he didn't even know it was an Advanced Form of Armament.

He was trying to Learn BARRIER.

You're literally lying if you're claiming he was asking Hyogoro to teach Internal which Hyogoro said he didn't know how to teach or perform, lol.

Nope.

He was never thinking of anything when he took the cuffs off. He was desperate and he instinctively and subconsciously destroyed it BEFORE he realised he just did what Rayleigh did at the auction.

He did it mistakenly and Hyogoro was the one who told him he'd performed an even far more advanced technique because Luffy himself didn't know what he'd done.

Hyogoro even claims he did it subconsciously.

So, he wasn't thinking of ANYTHING, he did it without even knowing and then later realised he'd done what Rayeigh did at the auction, and then Hyogoro further explained. Luffy had no idea Rayleigh did anything special at the time.

The levels of dishonesty on your part is pretty shocking.

How is that reasonable post time-skip? We've seen invisible Haki used for Ryou expulsion only.
Because characters still use it. Granted there's a ton of ambiguity there but among haki users its generally reasonable to assume they are using at least that when engaging and no other haki techniques are evident. Plenty of fighters through the series use this...

And you're wrong again.

Hyogoro said there's a feeling that Luffy experienced when he used Internal Haki.

It's not just the ability to use Flow, otherwise, he himself would be capable of using Internal Haki.

Just being able to use Flow doesn't mean you can use Internal.

Barrier Haki is inferior to Internal Haki, they're activated differently.

Doesn't have to be stated, we can see it, lol.

I don't expect you to admit it, but your logic is pictures cannot tell us anything is simply you being in denial. I already know based on this debate that you are unable to be truthful even when the picture shows us it does damage, lol.

You claim Luffy was being taught Internal Haki, so anything you have to say already loses credit since you're not being truthful, lol.

We already have Hyogoro himself telling Luffy that he cannot teach Luffy internal Haki.

Only way Luffy could learn it was by remembering the feelings he had when he did it. Not something Hyogoro could teach him. Luffy essentially taught himself Internal Haki and Hyogoro taught him Barrier.
