China has taken down the manga on their biggest ebook shops, all four seasons are getting spammed on bilibili and now has the lowest scores on the platform and NetEase has cancelled their Collab with the franchise for their Inhuman Academy mobile game.

It doesn't seem as serious from the outside....because it isn't. Attack On Titan was banned from China and as you can see that sure didn't stop its global popularity same with Sword Art Online. Really this is just them shooting themselves in the foot losing out a good series all due to a misconception on their part and they don't want to admit it. What's funny is that Hori's twitter grew over 10k followers within the past two days (7k in one day) and the support has been tremendous with Japanese and English readers thwarting off hate spam from China and Korea and of course the #SupportHorikoshi gaining traction.

So yeah the series will survive this onslaught and the only losers are its Korea and Chinese audience but given how they were quick to turn on the series over this they'll probably find something else to obsess over immediately after until they eventually turn on that over something as trivial as a word but at this point all I care about is Horikoshi's well being through this ordeal and as @KOBA said leaving your regards to the hashtag would be much appreciated.

I felt that horikoshi already did the apology by not only saying "sorry" instead he did it in a proper japanese way!

Just talk about it in peace or ask horikoshi please they need sorry from him and that's it!
Although by him saying sorry won't change a thing about the past! They just don't get to move on imho.

I mean they banned AoT in China and that didn't really stopped that as it is still huge elsewhere. China is a big market, yes, but most of MHA's market is in the West and I doubt it is going to be cancelled. Plus, it is still one of the magazine's top 5 best-seller..

Also, China has banned a lot of manga and that hasn't affected most of the popularity of these series worldwide. Aside from AoT and Sword Arts Online, notable ones that are also banned in there are Death Note and Tokyo Ghoul. I found a list from 2015 of some banned series here:

Um, i don't really get this. What do you mean by this??

It’s a joke (but not really), meaning that China tends to ban anything that is controversial in terms of affecting their “there is no war in ba sing se” politics and precious feeling in general. Like… There is this «crime against public morality» aspect — pretty much, if there are any mentioning of «dictatorship is bad, totalitarianism is bad, freedom of speech is good» - the title will be banned in China. You know, they’ve banned Psycho-pass, Death Note, Attack on Titan, Ergo Proxy, SAO and many others for this particular reason. So, if China bans something — it’s like a seal of approval that this title is worthy of watching/reading for anyone who isn’t brainwashed.

And above all, It is mainly Korean people making noise.The newly released manga should is not readable in Korea. So Koreans read pirate edition comics for free and accuse mangaka....

it was funny even the Korean guy who first complained about this crap on his tweets put it in that "we got to wait until its its officially released, so they wouldnt be able to tell that we are not complaining the manga we just pirated.."
