Yea, that was utter bullshit, but at least there was the explanation that Lucy 'rewrote' the book, while the rule for the rest of the demons (that they get die/sent back to underworld if Zeref die) still apply. How TF did she understand arcane demonic language to rewrite the damn book?

Plutogrim was dead, Mirajane still had Alegria. Zeref's death won't have affected Mira. She stays in base Satan Soul and not the Demon Gates for the same reason she doesn't use Sitri. Either Mashima can't be stuffed drawing the other forms, or BSS is just a more efficient use of her powers. She beat Jacobs ass with it.

I think Mirajane can put a fight but Jellal has higher Magic stats and way more mobility, even if Mira is fast.
He is also smart and strategic in battle, and way more versatile.

Mirajane is good enough to cause some trouble in physicals if Jellal is not focus, but for me, they are not in same tier.

Jellal wins mid diff if he is serious and focus, high diff if he doesn't consider her as a foe.

Narrative wise Laxus and Jellal are hyped to be stronger than her and we did see even Erza basically admit inferiority and struggle to scrape a virtual tie with Laxus so I'd always give him the benefit of the doubt over Mira and even Erza.

Agree except Mirajane is not Erza.

Erza is known for breaking the probabilities and the wall of impossible things : Azuma, Kyoka, Eileen are clear exemples.
In the opposite, Mirajane couldn't rival Azuma while being under protection of Tenrô's Magic to save Lisanna, couldn't defeat Seilha by her own strength while Kyoka absorbed her reminent powers to enhance hers vs Erza, could barely defeat 2 Eileen's enchanted swords.

Point 1:
Erza is a MC, she grows relative to side characters just by virtue of that alone. Erza has always had higher growth compared to Mira, ever since Mira recovered her lost powers against Freed.
The gap between Erza and Laxus has been reducing since day 1, and it is now the lowest it has ever been. Just because Erza grew so much doesn't mean Mira, a side character, grew so much


Point 2:
Erza has consistently outperformed and upstaged Mira, In every single arc. From Tenrou to Tartarus to Alverez to 100YQ.
She is as much of a rival to Erza, as Gajeel or Gray is to Natsu. Ok, I know that's too far, Natsu is THE main character and his growth rate blows everyone out of the water. But the essence of the point still stands.


Mira, Laxus, Jellal etc are all secondary characters, having similar roles in the series, their relative growth remains about the same, unlike Erza who has higher relative growth and Natsu who has insane relative growth.
Laxus/Jellal would defeat Mira with the same difficulty they would in BOS, a mid diff.

He can block any of Mira's nukes with his barriers and outspeed her with Meteor. The barrage of attacks he used against Acno + a combination of Grand Chariot and Sema does the job. Not sure if he would have to go this far too. If Mira tries to blitz him with Alegria, she basically loses.
