Well judging from what the series has shown through the God Slayers vs Dragon Slayers, Dragon Slayers are superior, therefore Dragons are superior. We also saw Natsu one-shot a God, so I'm 100% sure that Dragons are much stronger than Gods.
Neither magic has specifically been referred to as superior to the other. Also, natsu did not one shoot zancrow. And when he did beat him it was because he used a dragon god flame, not his regular flame. Wendy and Shelia tied. Laxus is obviously superior to orga but that has more to do with laxus being laxus rather than dragon slayer magic being Superior.

Ahh, I forgot about that guy. Still, it's not particularly relevant... We have two scenarios, either that sword god was related to the sort of gods relevant to my theory or he isn't. If he was related then he was simply a much weaker god than ankseram (in my theory). If he wasn't related then... well, he has no relevance to my theory. Natsu one shooting a guy is not particularly relevant. Natsu Under that logic we could make the case that natsu has one shooted mages before thus all mages are worthless next to natsu. Poor august doesn't know whats coming to him....
I think it's really relevant, Ikatsunagi was a God, which shows that Dragons are powerful enough could go toe to toe with Gods. plus the fact that Ankhseram is foreshadowed as final boss.
Knowing the fact that Zeref is the king of Alvarez, with over 730 guilds and normal everyday citizens who live peacefully in this large country. http://www.mangapanda.com/fairy-tail/444/17
What would happen to them after Zeref's defeat and possible death. They would need a new Leader to lead them. Because it's such a big country, they would need guidance and the Spriggan 12 as bloodthirsty as they are would only cause a Civil War if left in charge on their own.
Zeref has no wife nor children who could take the throne if he were to die, and the fact that he's immortal makes it seems like his government may not have a backup plan which would cause infighting between his people. But Zeref as smart as he is and as much as he loves his brother may have left him a gift.
This is where Natsu would come in, being the only blood relative Zeref has left, and the fact that he's not only young but powerful would make him the rightful heir to the throne, which he then could have offspring who could take over.
It could be a teary goodbye for Natsu having to leave Fairytail behind, but it would also make for a fitting end to the series with Natsu as King with maybe Lucy who's way more elegant as Queen
I don't think Natsu or Lucy for that matter would leave their friends and family to rule a country just, because their old leader is a relative of natsu. They'd get someone else to rule it instead.
I dunno if it's legit but the foreshadowing in Edolas might tell us something.
Natsu, in the aftermath of the events in Edolas disguised himself as the great "Demon King" Dragneel to prove Jellal's righteousness a a leader. Two words- demon and king were in that name. While Natsu being a demon is all but proven, the word "king" still remains. So I expect Natsu to inherit Alvarez after Zeref's death. The question whether he will accept the throne given to him will depend on the situation.. so he will probably give it to some character who is righteous in terms of justice and can rule a country (like Jellal maybe).

This is true the Fairytail guild is a tight bunch I don't think anyone would just carelessly leave, but what if Alvarez truly needed Natsu. As much as he loves his guild could he turn an eye on a whole Continent that maybe need the same kind of love that Fairytail has shown him.

Your right, the fact that he called himself "Demon King" as a joke only to be confirmed to be an actual Demon over 200 chapters later, is why I made this thread. It's still pretty much a possibility that he could become a King.
It's also the possibility that Natsu could pass the title of King on to someone else, but who else could he pass it on too? Brandish is a possibility but Natsu doesn't seem to have any kind of relation to her enough to give her a whole Continent, all the other Spriggan seem like true assholes.
While he could give Jellal the title I doubt it, mainly because it would be the same argument on what would happen to Erza, she's loved Jellal all her life and has watch him leave time and time again. So if Natsu wouldn't leave because of fairytail the same could be said for Erza, but at the same time Erza could just watch Jellal leave again.
There is also the possibility that an character we haven't seen before could become their King.
But this scene was badass and funny when it got animated.
Short answer is no. Natsu doesn't care to become king. Pfft lol imagine a nation under Natsu Dragneel. That nation will be destroyed by Natsu himself before the clock hits midnight. Natsu leaving Fairy Tail means that he turns his back in his friends. Lucy isn't the only one who cares about him you know -_-. So her becoming Queen won't make the story any more "majestic". I mean, somebody like Lisanna wants to be close to him too, but if Natsu is in Alvarez, he'd leave her and everyone else behind....

I'm of the opinion that they were so focused on 'returning to zeref', i.e killing him, that they lost all sense of morals in order to complete the task imbedded in them.
I think Zeref wants Natsu to become the next Dragon King.
Whether or not the Alvarez Empire plays into it up for debate.
I see them more as pawns for Zeref to provoke Natsu.
But if the empire is still around after Zeref dies, I guess Zeref will want Natsu to inherit it.
If nothing else than back-up against Acnologia.
That being said, I don't think Natsu will accept any offer of power that Zeref puts on the table.
I guess we'll just have to see what happens, but I believe Hiro Mashima could possibly be playing with the idea.
This picture he drew for chapter 228 kinda plays at the idea. Also if you look at the room their in.....It looks alot like Zeref's castle.

Possibly, I'm not gonna lie, there is a slight similarity there. The two pictures resemble each other a lot; of course, the window and a few other stuff are off, but I'm not gonna pick at little details.
I do think it is likely that Natsu is gonna play some joke and dress like a King and tell everybody he is gonna rule over Alvarez. But if he does that though, I'm sure it will just be for a night or just for a celebration party one night after the war is over.
If Acnologia ever turns to the good side, I think he would be a fitting King and probably the most likely King for Alvarez and their GMG, Ragnarok

1.- My theory implies gods precede dragons as being in charge. Which means the dragons to begin with somehow took care of them.
2.- He is suggesting that gods cannot be a threat because natsu one shot one. However that is not even logical. Every race we have seen so far has its unique power tiers and ranges. For all we know there are gods that can be stepped on by romeo and ankseram could still be a massive threat. Assuming he is a thing after all.

I agree with this. Etherius simply means their bodies are made out of aether, magic. Natsu is an etherius and even then he has not been shown specifically as evil or anything of the sort.

Misunderstand can be seen as evil but it's far from it, If the Etherius were born to do one thing and one thing only. Does it make them evil for just for filling their propose? They must kill Zeref no matter what the cost. Even if that means hurting other people, but if they let Zeref live it would be cruel because he's suffering form the madness of being immortal and he's killing people by just being alive.
