I agree with you completely. But frankly I think the NFL could make the game safer if that's what their priority is. That's the problem. Their priority is making the game more "flashy" not safer.

The things they need to do to make it safer I think are fairly obvious.

• Shorter season.
• Two bye weeks per team.
• Increase rosters size by at least 20 players and the salary cap enough to cover that.
• No short weeks (so no Thursday games)
• Weight limit for players at various positions to lessen impacts.
• Strict steroid testing, so there are less superhumans out there.
• Loosen the rules on pass interference and enforce the rules on pick plays to slow the game down.
• Outlaw chop blocking in all situations.

They won't do any of those things because people like Goodell and the owners don't really care about injuries, they just want to look like they do.

Well, that sucked.

The Steelers didn't show up to play that game at all. It looked like nobody aside from DeAngelo Williams was was even trying until the second half. Obviously a big moral victory for the Ravens in what has been mostly a lost season. And, frankly, if the Steelers couldn't been a Ravens team that was mostly second stringers they have no business being in the playoffs anyway.

Could be worse Charlie your team could have lost a playoff spot because of Ryan Mallet. Something that's almost as bad as losing a playoff game to Tim Tebow. Which is a pain that never goes away.

This Cincy Steeler game was just stupid. Refs maintained no control. Disgusting lack of discipline from the Bengals side. Fans acting like scum.

The Steelers weren't innocent either, didn't like how the defense acted after that hit by Shaizer. That helped get this mess started but the Bengals and the refs completely lost control after that. Burfect should have been ejected long before the end. I mean him and 2 defenders after an interception ran off the field and up the ramp to the locker room yet somehow didn't get an excessive celebration flag. How is that even possible?

Watched the seahawks-bills game last night. It was good but the refs are trash. It's starting to become hard to watch games with so many flags and missed calls. NFL is terrible this year honestly. MY SB pick Raiders-Cowboys but it'll probably be Patriots-Seahawks again.

I would love to see raiders make it to playoffs but not sure if they are ready to play a patriots team then....
But definitely rooting them....they are my afc team I'm going with since my dolphins are doing shit once again

Hate to admit it but cowboys look good....but lets see if atlanta can stay hot and if Carolina heats up in the stretch. I

Yeah, it's a pretty rough year for football.

My Steelers look amazingly uneven. I mean, Ben was hurt so that can excuse some of the offensive woes but that doesn't excuse everybody else. This Sunday's Steelers Ravens game was an embarrassment to both teams. A far cry from the great rivalry games of old. It was just kind of sad.

Steelers are probably still going to take the division but only because all the teams are soooo bad. And both the Ravens and Bengals have a harder schedule than we do.

Yeah I'm a Ravens fan but even I could tell you we were a fluke ass 3-0 before dropping 4 straight. Flacco is usually an average qb in the regular season but he's absolutely the reason we suck this year. Our defense good like always except for some hiccups. That game wasn't good until the 4th quarter so I'm in the middle on it. Our division is so bad right now I think it's free for all for all the teams except the Browns. Steelers are the best bet cause they got the best qb

Add that in with him playing hurt for like the first time in his career. I can't stomach people on the radio saying whoever the backup is should play over him. Do these people not remember the years with Kyle Boller, Chris Redman, or Elvis Grbach? The fans in this city are delusional.

It's sort of like a broken record for me at this point, but the NFL in general sucks lately. But this is the worse it's ever been honestly. Games are played incredibly sloppily or poorly officiated...or both. Most of the time it's a snoozefest for me honestly...

Yeah obviously the D isn't as good as when Ray Lewis and Ed Reed were here but I mean it's top 10 in some categories at least. Our defense has been way better than our offense. No, they did it before with Troy Smith as well. And then with Tyrod, and then with Shaub as well.

I mean, it's not as simple as running the ball and running plays. It's something you have to commit to as well. I get that it isn't in vogue nowadays, but in recent memory it's rather pitiful. Flacco isn't playing impeccably, but laying the blame on him just doesn't make sense to me.

I thought it was great game but I'm a Steelers fan.

It was such a close game that it pretty much came down to clock management and some individual plays. Can't ask for more than that. I know Joe Flacco is one of the top 10 most frustrating players to watch but really the running back and wide receiver situation cost them more than the quarterback did IMO

They need a deep threat and Wallace isn't it. Not anymore.

Bro trust me on this, we have old ass receivers but this was our best WR corps since the 2012 SB run.... any Ravens who watched the games this year will tellyo who's at fault for not winning 10 games with the number 1 defense for most of the year... Flacco is trash now, I hate to say it but he is. An average to below average QB in the regular season and Peyton Manning in the playoffs. We seriously need to invest in a young QB. Just hasn't been the same since getting that contract.
