Ok, 2 things:
1. Am i the only one who is bothered with how Tsugumi is depicted in that color page? It looks like her legs are about to break in that position.
2. Finally Raku realised that the pendant ain't worth crap, he is loving Onodera for a few years now and the pendandt won't change anything about that. For example Marika confessed her love countless times to Raku but he never showed any feelings of love towards her, if the pendant would have her name in it nothing would change, just like it would be with Chitoge. Raku doesn't love them or Tsugumi, he even friendzoned Chitoge, and the content of the pendant won't change anything. Finally that pendant will be there were it needs to be, in the trash!

This "love" with Onodera is just talking for me, years have passed and he didn't do anything to date her. If he discovers that Onodera isn't the promise girl, this will shake his convictions, I'm sure about. He has to be tested otherwise nobody will accept such a thing. Who loves pursuits her lover until the end of the world and she was about to give up as soon as she heard that Raku was dating Chitoge. No one, except Marika, has the balls to confess. Even Shu, a side character, did confess his love but the main protagonists can't be bothered to say the 3 little words: "I love you". This will go nowhere until Nisekoi is about to get the axe and Komi is forced to somehow end this.
I heard that Komi made a previous manga with a good love story, but by looking at Nisekoi i can't imagine that lol

I'll be honest, I know of the promise and all but I just want Raku to confess in the next couple of chapters (I know this is highly unlikely) but honestly which how the author raised people's expectations, Raku not confessing or getting interrupted at this point would feel like bullshit for a lot of people. I'd be so disappointed if something like that happens...
The chapter showed that rather than focusing on some promise made 10+ years ago, Raku preferred to focus on the girl he loved and it seems like Onodera and him are in think about this.

Raku is just saying such things and apparently giving up of the pendant because he is almost sure that Onodera is the promise girl, he doesn't have any proof about it, but it seems all right to him. If he discovers that the promise girl is another person, principally Chitoge, who he nurtures a love that he hasn't realizeed yet... He will hesitate, for sure... Why would he keep a pendant for 10 years if it wouldn't have any impact in his life and he wouldn't change his mind after discovering what is inside? THAT is bullshit. He is in the heat of the moment, but the promise will come up again. Also, we know those two very well... Honestly, I'm not enojying this development... Onodera didn't do anything to deserve it and it seems that she is going to win the harem...

Let's see:
- Onodera loves Raku from middle school and Raku also loves her. She choose Bonyari High School because of Raku, thus followed her love.
- Onodera tried to confess numerous times, but hardly any failed attempts are her faults.
° The broken window by the baseball ruined the atmosphere.
° She showed him her secret place, but got the classic phone call cockblock when she said she wouldn't mind if Raku was the boy she made the promise with.
° She made a mistake and said loudly that she wants to kiss him in the beach, but Raku fell asleep in the moment.
- She trusts Raku and that's why he turned for him for help in several occassions.
° In one of those occasions she wouldn't mind a co-ed bath with him or sleeping with him beside each other. Raku chickened out in the end.

I know you have a gigantic bias towards Chitoge, but disregarding anything, everything that Onodera or the others do are just childish and ridiculous.

Also, there is no such a thing in a harem manga as "X deserves/doesn't deserve Y". Everybody can fabricate reasons why his favorite one should be the one the main character chooses, but there won't be a definite answer that everyone agrees with. So showeling down your opinion on our throats about who deserves who are futile in the first place.

Also, Chitoge and Raku cannot break up because chaos will arise if they do, so something will happen, sooner or later to bring back the promise. He says that his feelings will not change because of the promise, so why does he still keep the pendant then? His affirmation has to be tested and there is the promise between Onodera and Chitoge... I really think that Chitoge is the promise girl and we will see a clash between the two girls.

It's kinda ironic that Chitoge was the only one among the keyholder girls that completely forgot about the promise, his first love and doesn't interested in such stuff until Tsugumi reminded her. If she is the promised girl, that means Raku forgot about her and fell in love with Onodera in the meantime, while Chitoge also forgot about Raku and the promise completely and put her key away in the depths of her hellish closet. Way to cherish a precious memory. ^^"

All of them was fruit of some help, if it were only by her own will, nothing would have happened. She always was extremely passive, she just follow the flow and doesn't anything on her own. Everybody jokes about it around the internet because everybody knows this fact. However, Onodera is not even the main point of all my posts here, Raku is the point and how he is only saying those things now because he is almost sure that Onodera is the promise girl, otherwise he wouldn't say. Raku loves Onodera since Middle School, but he loves the promise girl since 10 years ago. He was only a child when they made the promise and yet he cherished the promise until now. The nature of a child is forget everything that is not meaninful to her, we did many things in our childhood, but we don't remember even a half of all this. If the promise was not important to him, he wouldn't have conserved the pendant for so long, he would radiply forget. Even after falling in love with Onodera, he still kept it although he says now that his love for her is indestructible and will not change no matter what. He is just picking the easiest option right now, but if he discovers that another girl is the promise girl, he will hesitate.

Break up or not doesn't depend on Chitoge, depends on Beehive and Shueigumi, they are only in peace right now because of Chitoge and Raku. For all intents and purposes they are dating, therefore Raku cannot be hugged or kissed by other girls, this also doesn't depend on Chitoge, she is not using it as a shield. She only uses this fact to stop Marika assaults and most of the time Tsugumi is the one who gets more pissed. I cannot dey that she is a safe zone now, but we know that if they break up, she will muster courage to confess. She did everything she could to stay in Japan because of him, principally, she even didn't mind living in Raku's place. You said that Onodera relies on Raku, but Chitoge relies on Raku the same way, if not more... He saved her uncountable times, letting Onodera behind in one of them and Chitoge only slept in the school trip because he was there with her, because the thunders wre very audible (that's a pity you were not here when we discussed it). Chitoge relied on Raku in stronger situations than Onodera.

Chitoge acted as a normal child who really forgets this kind of things... She put her key in her diary in Japanese, but she went to another country right after and, therefore, her diary in Japanese was no longer neccesary since she should speak in the language of the country she was living. She saved the diary though and when she knew about the promise she started to care about it and now it is very important to her. There is no problem about it here, it is called character development. She said to Raku that she doesn't dislike this kind of promise and find it romantic. I think she had her mind full and that's why she forgot, but now the promise is more important to her than to Onodera, honestly.

It became a "very long friendship" because they didn't do anything since the beginning. -.-
I'm with Ruri, I don't understand why they don't realize that they love each other and why they don't do anything. Shuu also knows very well what is happening because he asked which one Raku actually loves, he felt the difference between Raku and Chitoge, they closer and closer to each other.

The rest was explained was already explained above except the lie part which was a method used a lot by Onodera to deny her love for Raku infinite times in the story. Everything that Chitoge supposedly did Onodera already did as well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯


PS: Onodera fans are like her... After 167 chapters, they appear to support her here.
I'm sure I had some other things to say, but everything told during this thread and the old section. Remember every little point that makes Chitoge more suitable to Raku is hard, but let it be. I bet no confession and pendant returns, let's see what will happen.

Chapter 168 is out!

It was clear like water that he wouldn't have the courage to confess to each other, but they indeed made some progress holding hands, a HUGE progress since they didn't do anything since chapter 1.
Anyway, the lock is not back, because it didn't go anywhere since the beginning, it was a good reason Komi Naoshi brought, I should've thought about it. Anyway, now Onodera and Raku are closer, but I still think that what he says is just talking, his feelings will waver if he finds out that Onodera is not the promise girl. Also, it is now clear that Onodera IS NOT the promise girl since the owner of the book is the promise girl and she is not the owner. His feelings will be tested sooner or later like I wanted.
Now, it is time for Marika it seems... We had an arc with Chitoge as protagonist, one with Onodera as protagonist, Marika couldn't be put aside. I have the feeling that she knows more than everybody there about this promise, that's why this arc is promising.

Looking forward to reading the next chapters!

I couldn't agree more. This story is busy stalling for time. Chitoge, Onodera, next is Marika... After that probably get a few chapters for Yui.
Well we did learn that Onodera isn't the promised girl but if you ask me that was clear since they spent that moment at Onoderas secret spot.
Chitoge won't be the girl either because it would be too obvious. That leaves Marika and Yui and both seem to know something while not being the promised girl either...
Hah this is so frustrating.

Seriously Raku. Grow a damn pair and confess. Only a retard could not notice that Onodera is in love with him. Density should have a limit...

It is Chitoge or Marika the promise girl.
Yui's key broke inside the keyhole, I think everyboby should have noticed it already. If it were the right key, it wouldn't break inside the keyhole, it wouldn't make any sense. Marika is possible, but she doesn't know about crucial points of the promise, like Zawse in Love phrase that she never mentioned so far in the story.
It is most likely Chitoge after all. Marika couldn't go outside 10 years ago and Raku saw the girl outside reading the picture book. Also, Chitoge and Onodera knew each other back then making the loan of the picture easier. Marika didn't know Chitoge or Onodera as fas as we know, only Raku.

Marika is absolutely crazy! I didn't expect this coming...
On the other hand, Raku sleeps like a rock... Well, I will probably would have the same problem if I were taken carefully to another place.

It is always entertaining and sweet seeing her putting in practice her plans... Her speech to Raku always let him speechless because there is no way to counter such love, the unique thing that he can do is accept... One point that was fast, but important was that Yui knows exactly how to boost the motivation of the people. She was direct at the point with Marika. Now Marika wants to go to the same university as Raku and is going better in the school. It was interesting that this chapter mentioned the chapter which was animated this week in the anime. It was Marika everywhere this week!

However, apparently, we are about to lose Marika forever? I knew that there was something since the beginning, I proposed this development in one my uncountable posts about this series here in the past. Honda is not someone who play around, so I think she is serious... Really?

Chapter 170 is out

I saw many cute chapters in this story, but this one is in the top 10... Marika did all she could to be suitable to Raku, so it is no surprising that she get along so well with him in this kind of situation... She can do everything! And she was so cute in this chapter... Raku also surprised me... He was always gentle, but he worried about with all details this time giving Marika the bottle of water and saying her to not hold herself if she wants to drink, making sure that she doesn't hurt her foots, making sure that she doesn't get ill with contamined water... He may be blind in the ways of love, but no one can deny that he is thoughtful... I really enjoyed them interacting the entire chapter, but the end of the chapter... It seems that Marika has heart disease... She shouldn't exagerate so much the entire day... Now things will get dramatic because they stranded and no medical care near by...

Raku and Marika are both such idiots/cowards at this point. The one, Marika, can't accept that the boy she loves won't love him back and has to resort to kidnapping to force the person she loves to spend time with her and the other one, Raku, doesn't have the balls to clearly and bluntly say into her face that he doesn't love her.

And lastly about the end of the chapter and what's gonna happen in the next one: I say that Tsugumi will apear with a boat out of nowhere, because she had a plot convenient assasin job near that island and it's quite a few chapters since her last screen time.

First he says that Marikas feelings for him are genuine, so basically he SHOULD have noticed that Marikas wanted to see the damn sunrise with him and ONLY him.

Chapter 175: I'm getting tired of your bullshit Beansprout and Komi! So Raku finds out Chitoge has someone she likes (which is him but that idiot doesn't know that) and can't let her go. Clearly the worst kind of human being, he says he only likes one person but doesn't want to let other girls that are close to him be together with someone else and doesn't have the balls to say "I don't want to be together with you, Marika!".
