Well, it's an interesting information. I am not really bothered that he didn't do anything with it and he said himself that the characters don't know.

Just another reminder that Wano could have been much better. He had plenty of ideas but made a lot of bad decisions IMO.

Well confirmed, Queen is Frankys dad.

I feel like Oda can't wait for too long to make Yamato join the crew, she needs to have her time with the crew at least for couple arcs to create a meaningful bond.

So in the bad case scenario for Vivi, she becomes a CD, meaning Imu is actually forgiving!
Yamato spent weeks with the crew after the battle. What is “meaningful” isn’t up for you to decide.

The fact that Oda kept it simply “learning about the world” instead of making her a daimyo and had the attitude of “please look forward to it” means we should prob be anticipating what comes next instead of complaining about what could have happened in the past.

Why the aggressive tone?

Yes, for me a meaningful time is couple arcs like Jimbei had, Vivi had or even Carrot had. Different situations, different experiences, differing dynamics with the crew etc. If you see it any other way, that's ok.

Also saying that is up for Oda to decide is basically saying nothing. As a receiver of the message and the target of his story, it is actually up for me to decide if some story elements work or don't.

I'm just passionate about the manga like that. lol

Also, I agree that you can decide for yourself what is meaningful and what isn't, which is why I respectfully disagreed with you when you said "she needs to have her time with the crew at least for couple arcs to create a meaningful bond."

Because what if I decide for myself in concluding that she did create a meaningful bond, and doesn't need a couple of arcs to do so? I already think she has had a meaningful bond!

Np, it just read like you were pissed of by it. I don't want to downplay any opinion.

Yeah, I'm not saying she has no bond, especially since she feels a very strong one to Luffy and she had her time with the crew on Wano (mostly off screen), just that I expect and want more arcs with her in different situations with straw hat members if/when she joins the crew. I would hate if Yamato gets thrown into the "last" war and has no real interaction with each member on screen prior to that.

But again, that's just how I feel about it.

I'll feel satisfied when Yamato comes back, but I understand.

For now though, I think it’s apparent that Oda is wanting Yamato to bond with Momo first, to make her goodbye more emotional. When we think back to goodbyes like Sanji’s or Franky’s, it makes sense.

Momo would also def hate if Yamato stayed behind because it’s his fault he’s not good enough to help Wano himself. Yamato is def not being more bound to Wano, as evidenced by how Yamato isn’t a daimyo or anything like that, so it’s only a matter of time before Momo discovers her doubts and resolves to strengthen himself.

And considering Caribou’s info, that may be soon.

To be fair, if the reveal had been made at wano then franky vs queen, which the plot required, would have been much more difficult to fit in.

Franky being Queen's son is a fun little bit of world-building, but nothing that needs real focus. The two have changed so much since their last meeting anyway, they probably didn't even recognize one another.

This is worse than the Zoro reveal since at least Zoro as a character remembered things on his own within the story. It was poorly executed but at least the character themselves know it. And as nice as it would be to have Zoro verbally acknowledge his ancestry is from Wano and have others know it (some already seem to suspect it), it wouldn't add much to the story.

Franky on the other hand still has no idea about Queen. The two of them realizing they are father and son would have been hilarious and could have led to its own plot point. And Queen also uses tech so would have been an interesting opportunity for a tech upgrade for Franky. Now I know its possible for them to meet in the story but Wano was the perfect opportunity that now seems wasted.

I really liked this SBS.

The date date stuff is very interesting to me. Somehow, I find it strange that the WG didn't kickstart a new calendar right after the void century to mark the beginning of "their world".

It is interesting...LUFFY IS USING THE WORD DAWN.. just because...out of nowhere...when he still didn´t Know JACK SHIT about who was JoyBoy what he did, and what happened in the void century,,...and the "NEW DAWN".., after the massive world war, coming ahead (something that he had no freaking idea neither),,, he barely hear the name joyboy once..and told the other person,, he wasn´t... not to mention Robin didn´t care to share or read ANY kind of phoneglyphs since Big Mom Arc....uggghh i hate that from her..

but then again,, he is Luffy,, he didn´t even question itself,,how he happened to just being a stretchy rubbery guy..to literally be capable to rewrite reality,, and neither his nakamas...

A connected thing I've always wondered about is why a void century? We've never learned anything about the pre void century so its always stuck out how the WG keeps so much in tact including a multithousand year calendar.

Why a void century?.. well..the proofs they commited a Genocide in a massive scale like they did with Lulusia's cant be of public knowledge.. much less the ancient weapons that could blow the red line .. right straight to the deepths of hell... if someone cared to learn the whole truth and lead a rebellion against them... thus being the reason of putting a ban against phoneglyphs readings..

so pretty daam good reasond to create one..

I m more interested in Know how JoyBoy and Davey Jones.. lose the war..

I belief in part is cause the 20 kingdoms get a hold of Uranus somehow... and use it quick and merciless..

I mean why not just no history before 800 years ago? If they don't want people to know about Ancient Kingdom or their (CD) own history seems strange to stop with a single century. Did the AK not exist before 900 years ago? Do the CD not care if people know their ancestors were common royals with common kingdoms? If people know the history of the world prior to 900 years ago that would also mean they'd know there were continents and much larger population too. Just strange Oda introduced just a void century and not void history in general. Instead he just rarely mentions anything from prior to void century as if the world didn't even exist.

I think, after seeing all the lineages and trivia about lineages, Oda just seems to be a fan of quirks of fate. In this case, I think what he did is just the more realistic scenario. Father and son were so close, but they never intersected. But did they need to? In a story, you could say they needed to. But this path that Oda selected, in the pursuit of this quirk, is a valid path too and just leads to a different feel that is still consistent with all the background family lore he's done to this point.

So, I don't think there's anything wasted in a sense. Oda probably just sees it as one of life's missed connections.
Not saying you're wrong in what you line out. But this really is just a difference in perspective about the peculiarities of life and how much of that should be present in a fictional story.

I think what's more important is reading everyone who brought up their reasoning as to why it couldn't work (which was based on exact wording of previous statements), and realizing that exact wording interpretations of old material just isn't as valid as a debate ender. This answer is in the era of "dont think about it too much if it fits well enough."

At this point I'm expecting for Oda reveal Nami related to Bakkin in an SBS.

Wasn't Oda giving a joke answer as opposed to a confirmation?
