Well, I hope you are wrong. Atleast everything Owens said talks to the fact that they are in contact with Oda, and he would totally burn in the fandom if it turned he lied. So he didn't, OP just truly means to much for him.
I mean, it's possible it won't be great, I'm not denying that. But I've actually followed a lot of the production and all the info that's been available during the production process, and nothing I've seen so far has indicated anything but a great understanding and passion for the project from the cast, the writers and the producers to a degree none of the other LA adaptations have had.

Tbf that all comes from one Twitter account with an un-named source, and most of the things they described doesn't add up with previous information we have based on leaked ep1 script, and Greg from the official One Piece website said it was untrue based on the "info" they gave about the scripts etc.
Already confirmed fake. Untrusty source (history of fake scoops), weird details (entire episodes are not rewritten in post), describing aspects of the manga as if they were strange ("some characters have unnatural hair colors"), and last but not least a official collaborator of Oda already confirmed this as false.

Lol they played their hand too hard with that bit. There's an art to doing fake spoilers and it has to do with plausibility. Claiming this is happening may as well have been a flashing neon sign saying 'this is fake', if you know anything productions like this at all.

He absolutely didn't, lol. When asked about it before it came out, he was like "I gave them some notes but who knows if they'll listen", and then after it aired he said he watched the beginning of episode 1 and turned it off during the first scene (Basically the opposite of "we're all in sync, everyone is brimming with passion and they've promised not to launch until I'm satisfied".
