What you are saying is completely true. However, you need to think about the average audience. Game of Thrones/ASOIAF confused people of how many characters there are. They had to fused characters and or eliminated them altogether.
Baratie and Arlong tied in together. What I meant by that is the recurring cast (though they probably cut the Zoro's bounty hunter bros). Like Punk Hazard and Dressrosa.
Live action will struggle with One Piece's flashbacks. Because a) they paid big money to the main cast. Flashbacks are not using the main cast. Good child actors are hard to come by. And they barely had time since there are only 8 episodes. The theme of food is strong with Sanji's flashback. But since Arlong is the endgame. I think they will focus on Nami instead of Sanji. Nami's flash back probably gonna take like 15-20% of one episode.
Sanji has a second flashback to fall back to. But lol the Live Action probably won't make it all the way to Whole Cake Island.
This problem probably would have solved if there are 10 to 12 episodes instead of 8.
Baratie had a second function, which is prop up the Grandline. Zeff was a veteran, and Krieg was there to steal his log. We know how terrifying the Grandline is via how utterly defeated Krieg's pirates were. And Mihawk is the one that show up what monsters hidden in the Grandline. Of course, because of how terrifying Mihawk was. And Jimbei is also similar rank as a warlord. That prop up Arlong as an association to Jimbei.
I also fell in love with One Piece here. But more so because there are multiple factions of strong characters that have different conflicted interests (Kreig, the chefs, Mihawk, the strawhats). That one color spread that have all the factions. Missing Krieg does suck. Since his powerset would be cooler to see. Especially, Mihawk's sword and Kuro's claws looked extremely plastic in the trailer.
I guess the woman with the sheriff star is a bounty hunter. It would be cool if they were all wearing sheriff staff to be formally recognized as bounty hunters.

I think we'll get snippets of everyone's flashback. The trailer had a scene that looked like Sanji's first cooking ship being destroyed by the waves after Zeff went to save him.
If the creatives behind the show are as big a fans as they claim, they know flashbacks are key pieces of insight for the characters, so I can see them trying to hit the major beats for the most part while attemping to keep the pacing nice and smooth. Whether they succeed is a different story.

I think that's the Cooking George (Zeff's ship when he was a captain) but yeah, from his flashback. Also know child actors were cast for young Zoro, Kuina, Nami, Luffy and Sanji plus Koushiro (Kuina's dad) Bellemere, Banchina (Usopp's mom) etc. Realistically they can't spend as much time on the flashbacks but they can definitely give condensed versions with the key moments and some decent build-up.
People are dunking too hard on Peter Gadiot. The hat is way too small on him and it makes him look "off" in that shot, but like... he's a good looking dude.
Is he manga-Shanks level of hot? No.
But is any man in this world manga-Shanks level of hot? Also no.
Don Krieg isn't cut, we know he'll be in the show (he's been cast) just not shown in the trailer.
Don Krieg claiming he's the strongest pirate in the East while his whole armada has been solo'd by Mihawk in the Grand Line, and then Mihawk's fight with Zoro ans his speech to both Zoro and Luffy showing how long they have to go still and really gives a sense of "wow, this world is so much more vast than what we've seen so far, they still have so long to go" and I think both are important in that aspect (as well as obviously changing the trajectory of Zoro's character but if you just don't like Zoro I guess that would be the same as pointless).
After this trailer I feel like my hope of it being decent-to-good is actually based on something substantial for the first time... before it's been faith based solely on passion and casting, but this trailer actually gives me hope through the finished product, while the teaser was kinda neither here nor there.
Yeah there are some changes and one or two things look "iffy but as well as they possibly could look in live action" but overall this trailer feels 100x more One Piece than the teaser, and more than anything it feels like it'll be as good as a One Piece live-action could possibly be.

Someone pointed out that it's actually the logo for Pappag's fashion brand "CRIMIN".
Which doesn't make sense timeline-wise tbh if she is at Roger's execution, but I think it's just a little easter egg here more than anything since it's a common easter egg-type thing in the manga/anime as well.

Also, upon rewatching the trailer, the very first shot of Arlong in the trailer seems to be inside Buggy's circus tent? It's got the same clown head in the background that we see earlier in the trailer with Buggy's crew.
So it seems we might get even more of a "Arlong on Nami's trail to take her back to Arlong Park" sub-plot than we thought, with him turning up in (at least) both Orange Town and Baratie.
Arlong’s earlier introduction in season 1 makes sense. You cannot make a good TV show where all enemies pop up in 1 episode and are dealt within same episode as if it was a self-sufficient manga arc, and then move to something entirely new and start again from scratch. You need to build some consistency in the episode narrative and makes everything build up the season final. The fact that Buggy makes a comes back in Logue Town and meets Alvida later in the Grand Line and Oda’s love for his characters is probably a good thing for the TV show to avoid the "new island" story telling issue.

I'm actually super okay with fishmen showing up as a recurring presence throughout East Blue before Arlong Park. That would've made the manga's flow in the beginning a lot better, and feels true to Oda's style of storytelling from Paradise onwards.
The teaser tried to come off as a hollywood MCU style teaser. Luffy's "I'm sensing some real hostility among the crew" line was so cringe and out of character and sounded like something straight out of a Whedon or Gunn script, but whoever made the teaser seemed to think it was a real knee-slapper. The trailer feels more like a demo reel of the season, more in line with other live-action anime promo material. Which... I'm not sure if that's better or worse, but we definitely got a better feel for how the whole series is going to look and sound.
I also like Zoro reflecting on their "pirate game" since he has always being a bit more serious than the rest of the crew about their path. He says "We’ve been making enemies every where we go", this reminds me of Zou arc when he made his speech about being on a high-speed train against Kaido and not having time to deal with BM.

It's attention grabbing with some "monsters".
Has nothing to do with making the Manga flow better which it wouldn't. East Blue is about ethics, not about plot.
Which I am afraid the show is going to ditch in favor of action.

God that Live-Action is going to be a DISASTER, it's like no one remembers the disasters that were Netflix "Death Note" (easiest anime to adapt into live-action), Netflix "Cowboy Bebop", and Netflix "The Witcher" just to name a few!? Netflix really just needs to stop trying to make these.
Let me spoiler the next few weeks on this Live-Action adaptation: Netflix has made changes and once again veered off source material, the fanbase complains and doesn't support the show, Netflix complains and blames the fans for "Not getting their creative vision" and accuse them of being toxic "Istaphobs" and they "stand by their "insert actors/actresses" and that the series wasn't made for the fans despite wanting their money and viewership to begin with, Netflix tries to deflect when it's an obvious failure by saying the changes and deviations were "To reflect the modern world" and/or to try and reach as many people as possible, faced with another failure Netflix tries to adapt another anime to Hollywood style live-action, RINSE AND REPEAT and says "it'll be different THIS time"
You do realize the definition of "insanity" right Netflix and fans?
These are animated for a reason and let's be honest the crazy world of One Piece is NOT going to translate to Live-Action well at all
