I think it should work over the common foe trope. In this case Who‘s Who, ultimately as we already discussed Blackbeard on a Wano invasion maybe.
Honestly, given Momo’s role, I imagine he’ll be getting into quite a few disagreements/arguments. Not just with whether or not to take in any of the Beast Pirates, but as well as with Yamato’s way of doing things.

Momo and Yamato haven’t gotten into an argument yet, but given how Momo now has a big responsibility to fulfill as the shogun leader of his people, his pride, and wanting to surpass his dad, and Yamato is now staying back because she thinks Momo isn’t good enough to defend Wano, I can only assume this will develop each other’s character from there.

And if these series of events develop each other’s character and become stronger characters from there, then it will have made Yamato’s temporary stay worth it.

I‘m wondering if he is going to take any former Beast Pirates into his service, with all we currently know about Momo and what he and his family has been through I can hardly picture it happening.

About him and Yamato not yet having had a serious argument is quite simple to explain IMO. Right now Yamato is still not taking Momo seriously. In her eyes I think he is still a kid tha needs to further mature up. But the more Momo grows into his position and mentally grows up, the more inevitable it is going to be for Momo and Yamato to have a serious argument over matters where the two fundamentally disagree.

And believe me Yamato‘s stay is going to pay off significantly soon. These kinds of cover stories don‘t end up being this shallow IMO.

Speaking of Scabbards, I've seen the observation that Yamato will gain Scabbards through Ulti and Page One from the latest cover story. I was never sure about that sort of thing, because Yamato wants to eventually sail after being reassured that Momo is good enough to be a capable defender.

I suppose Yamato could convince them to assist Momo, though perhaps Momo would take offense to that to his pride.
I've been fairly certain since this cover story started that Yamato's Scabbards would basically just be the Flying Six, and they'll stay back to protect Wano for Yamato when he finally gets to the "force my way onto a strong person's ship" part of the Oden Journey. On that note, I could definitely see somebody like Tama stowing away like Izo did all those years ago when Oden went off on his own and ended up being an "anchor" for the Whitebeard Pirates.

Didn't think about that before, the interesting point you said about Yamato not taking some things seriously, like Momo himself.

Yamato talked about Momo being #1 samurai and this and that when Luffy woke up, but then basically got challenged on that when Admiral tree branch attacked and abruptly changed her mind about sailing in order to compensate for Momo's lacking performance in battle.

Yamato and Momo do both care about Wano, and if Yamato believed he was a capable defender, she would have left already, except she didn't. I'm sure both of them care about Wano enough to argue over it if it came to that, and it looks like it just might given how Momo has a lot of pride, like Zoro even said, and Yamato might just end up wounding that due to her lack of social skills.

Makes me all the more curious to see what Momo's response will be after Yamato finishes her Wano tour, because he prob assumes she'll start making plans to sail as soon as possible like Oden did.

I'm telling you Kuroi, if Oda cooks right, the results with Yamato will end up being delicious. :lick

We had what the equivalent of 6 admirals attacking simultaneously on Egghead.

Not even the Roger Pirates could have won without help.

I dony think thats a fair assessment at all
Well such things would be less of an unwinnable battle if they had a Yamato, Hancock and Marco in addition. I feel like those three are the best fit to join both character-wise and ability wise. Though the can petrify you thing is a bit hard to continually write. But Oda may have created a way with the Haki counter devil fruit effects thing. Though they had Blackbeard seem like he could not defend against the ability.
Plus there are plenty of stories about Medusa and journey's and the main character needing the allegiance of, so to speak, to defeat a powerful enemy.
Marco joining seems odd but it would show surpassing Shanks since Shanks failed to recruit him twice. His regeneration thing is ridiculous like the Hancock case but Oda with Big Mom showed in Wano he can be vulnerable. And time skip showed he is not able to beat a Yonko.
In fact all 3 were shown and/or depicted to have almost gotten killed by a Yonko.
Coincidentally the 3 immediate timeskip Yonko enemies of Luffy.
And then the other Yonko Marco refused joining.
Doesn't mean it is a clue they all 3 will become Strawhats just noticed it.

The Vivi thing would just be more nostalgia unless oda gives her a good devil fruit or something. She's probably like the celestials we originally saw compared to the ones we see now, relative to the D clan. Bellamy is like the only other likely character to join amongst characters we've come across. But there really is no meaning. I had the Caribou thing but he kind of has no meaning like Bellamy but fits an element of having no Logia.

Came across my mind. While I won't say that all commanders 1's are equal, I'd say..
Zoro with ACoC is depicted as Snakeman's equal.
Based on Katakuri.
Following that I would say Sanji is depicted as the Boundman and Tankman Equal.
Not based on the level of opponent Luffy used it to beat specifically but rather how Snakeman and Boundman were used. Snakeman to defeat a higher level opponent he could not beat with Boundman.

I'd say right now Sanji is at most
Luffy vs Kaido first fight level
Zoro is
Luffy vs Kaido right before learning of ACoC, even though Zoro knows ACoC. And whether or not Luffy had used Snakeman at that point of the battle.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

So apparently Luffy beat a not awakened Kaido, still open to guessing.
Zoro beat flames off King
And Sanji beat Queen that did not use the poison pink ability

Explains why there is no Yamato yet, at least for the weaker two.

His get up in orange resembles Beppo‘s from Law‘s crew way too much IMO.
It’s funny because certain people were bullying me about color schemes back when Gaban’s blonde hair looked like turned out to be a mistake (unless he uses hair dye), and claimed as if Oda has the final say since he’s always consistent, not realizing he can always change his mind too like with Kuma.

I suppose Bepo could be an additional reason he changed his mind. The anime occasional took liberties with color schemes, like with Marco, but I suppose Oda must have thought the orange suit looked too similar to Bepo’s boiler suit. lol

I can’t always help but laugh when people bring this up, since Jinbe, who held back Sakazuki at Marineford and fisted that pussy for Zoro at Egghead showed he was just as much of a dedicated powerhouse as Zoro and Sanji are.

Sanji was even touted as “#4”, so that def shows how Oda is far more willing to put Jinbe on that pedestal even though certain fans want to deny it even when the cows come home, as if Jinbe doesn’t deserve respect as one of Luffy’s dedicated powerhouses.

Wings, monster trios, or whatever, that still shouldn’t take away from Jinbe’s respect in what he has done for Luffy, both as a fighter and as a friend. And I’ll prob say the same for Yamato when she joins like Jinbe did.

I'm not going to keep posting the same thing for a while on this thread but I hope Oda does not trying to downplay Sanji again. He had ALL THREE of Luffy, Zoro and Sanji learn Haki in the timeskip. And they were the only three who did. So far Luffy and Zoro have unlocked Conqueror's Haki, Luffy did so before timeskip and because Rayleigh it seems it was presumed Zoro would. Zoro got his after timeskip.
Again, the Zeff who hinted Sanji was like Luffy and Zoro but it is hidden.
Now the other thing they showed training flashbacks from both Luffy and Zoro getting direct training.
It would be ridiculous if Sanji being trained by a founding member of the Revolutionaries, that was on God Valley (even if just a kid) and shown able to handle fighting Kuma who was just shown, while damaged, being able to survive Akainu and able to harm Saturn, did not give Sanji adequate training for the New World. The other two you presume have CoC (Mihawk and Rayleigh) but again, it is stated it can't be trained so Ivankov not having it doesn't necessarily mean a thing, although possibly has traits a bit and is a ruler of a land.

Ivankov was shown durable enough to survive both Magellan and Akainu. He did not even fight Akainu seriously (not saying he'd win), and Sabo was shown to be able to hold his own against an Admiral. I would hope Oda was just hiding how strong Ivankov was and we are left to assume based on her exchange with Kuma and then Kuma vs Saturn.
I doubt the revolutionaries, including Ivankov were included in Doflamingo's throne Wars and they are weak. And Ivankov has special techniques like the recipe stuff he made Sanji go after. So my guess is Sanji learned, not specifically that but ways he could make his own versions of the techniques.

I would presume, that Sanji is eventually going to get an Ifrit Jambe version of Hell's Memories but the whole being trained by a Commander of the Revolutionary Army and not having strong CoA and CoO seems ridiculous. Ivankov had planned how he was going to break out of Impel Down and everything.

I would hope given the current situation:
The matter of Ivankov being on God Valley, the Celestial Dragon game, the Knights appearing and that Ivankov trained Sanji like Ivankov's God Valley situation that this arc is more of Sanji one, where he gets more advanced battle development.
Especially now that we basically see Oda had Sanji go in Ifrit Jambe to do a combo attack while Zoro was in a basic form or the attack he used on Kaido that cut slightly. And Luffy wasn't even in Gear 4th. Otherwise it's kinda just messing up the whole monster trio and the fact that Oda gave only Luffy, Zoro and Sanji Haki in the timeskip.
Like I hope that is Oda's indicator that Sanji is getting ACoC too. Only those three need to have it from the pre-Yamato made a member group.

Usopp fits the character of more the wizard on the journey who is not strong but uses magic, like in those RPG games. Same with Nami, although I'm hoping for Oda to decide to enhance them somehow physically. Although technically Sanji's cooking was supposed to be the strengthening excuse.

Speaking of, given the whole Ivankov manipulating hormones and the Germa genes thing, it would be interesting if Ivankov actually did use his ability on Sanji in a non gag way, and it in combination with his German genes, basically interacted with each other to basically give Sanji some power upgrade that is not gender shifting. To me it would be explainable. As Oda already called him Ivankov of Miracles. Interesting he met Luffy in a prison where he treated Luffy for poison using hormones, and Sanji was freed by poison pink from a prison. Sanji saved by Ivankov, Luffy saved by Reiju. To save Luffy, non gender changing hormones were used. Ivankov said it required a strong will power, which then indicated Luffy is like Dragon in terms of willpower. Luffy then was shown to use Conqueror's Haki. We presume Dragon has it too. Sanji, back to the above Zeff thing, latently having strong willpower, and Ivankov's hormones at some point taking affect on him to awaken latent abilities. Ivankov's indicating it's up to Luffy's willpower is similar to the whole Rayleigh can teach Haki but CoC has to be manifested by the individual. So hopefully Oda goes that route, using the thing we presumed as a gag as a pre-situation hint that Sanji got some hormone altering later by Ivankov. Again, not like gender change stuff or the girl techniques. But something in the league of Ivankov made Luffy constant able to get up and fight again, basically something strengthing Sanji greatly.
Given the devil fruit was made a prize along with the one Kaido got which is said to be insanely powerful and helps make him invincible somewhat, there has to be maybe something Oda comes up with. It would also tie back into the closeness of Kuma and Ivankov, then Kuma and Vegapunk, and Vegapunk and Judge and Sanji being somewhat like what Kuma became (even though Franky is more like that), and that Sanji may basically be a prototype of the Pacifista and Seraphim stuff in a sense.
If you consider Luffy and Blackbeard had similar situations, defeated by Magellan then rescued one may presume Shiryu and basically Ivankov are close on level, though I'd bet Ivankov stronger, then Sanji having weak CoA is nonsense even if it is not his speciality. Oda needs to speed up Sanji fighting development.

I'm not getting my hopes up because Oda likes to make Sanji like a weakling in the monster trio instead of having him beat renown opponents. The whole cook thing is nonsense simply because why making him the number 3 and a main fighter if he is just a cook.

Hopefully Oda improves all the Sanji battle prowess soon, so we can get back to the officialized Yamato in the crew.

Well again, people still discuss and debate Jinbe in regards to his power being on par with Zoro and Sanji, especially given how he was referenced as #3 and fisted that aforementioned pussy after Zoro couldn’t defeat him in time.

So I imagine all your prayers won’t go answered. lol But seriously though, I think what matters is how Luffy will be getting all these realizable powerhouses on this crew.

We shouldn’t be worried over it, but happy that Luffy is getting more support and that we all get to experience it in this wonderful manga together! :)

Has anyone ever mentioned how it's odd that typically 3 or even 2 coordinates are all that's necessary to find something on a map?

What's the point of 4 road poneglyphs? Unless Raftel is underwater or in the air.

not unless the three coordinates need to be islands. may be there doesn’t exist a combination of the three islands that triangulates into the location of Raftel.

2 coordinates. 3 reference points to triangulate.

let’s say there are only four islands in and around raftel as shown in the image below. you will not be able to triangulate to Raftel’s location using any three islands as markers.

I think the core issue is that there aren't any accurate maps of the whole area in general that can be used to do triangulation. Typically if you have two points (a third being even better), you can pin them down on a map to then accurately locate another location, Laughtale in this case. However, in the case of OP we know there probably isn't any actual good map of the new world portion of the grand line (assuming Laughtale is there) that is to scale and precise enough to do the triangulation.

Agreed as this would also add to the significance of Nami‘s dream.
I can also picture the 4. coordinate indicating the altitude of Laughtale or it being related to time (the Knock Up stream got me inspired to the latter take).

When they have all four Road poneglyphs, we will probably also see Nami's room with all the maps she drew until now of the world. Maybe she already started to try an calculate where Laugh Tale would be, but more likely she is waiting until they have all four.

Could also be that Laughtale is a moving island like Zou but instead of moving randomly it has a pattern to it that you need all 4 RP to determine. And since no one lives there no one has a way to find it like Zou which requires using a vivre card.
