It's one or two very strong characters adding to half a dozen from Shanks crew, so it's not really much compared to the 10 monsters from Teach's crew Imo.

Wouldn't Shanks be too strong if WB's crew joins him ? I can see them being allies, but joining them... That would be too much to handle for any pirates or the marines IMO
Blackbeard is on a devil fruit hunt and expanding his power. Already has several fleets, if Burgess's "first fleet commander" title is any indication.
Kaido has hundreds of zoan devil fruit users in his crew, and that's probably not all he has.
Don't know what Big Mom is doing, but it at least seems she's interested in super weapons. Since her crew was watching Caesar's transmission. Not to mention that they came to get him now.

We don't know anything about Shanks. Or remnants of Whitebeard pirates.
By itself, I don't think it would point to much, but coupled with that first foreshadowing, then Shanks' help on Marineford and his visit to the grave, it is much.
It's obvious Shanks was the closest to Whitebeard's crew among other Yonkou, and as we heard, only way to survive in NW is to either join one or defeat one. So I'm pretty sure the core of WB pirates is allied with Shanks.

Most probably it is how you say.
Maybe also he gotten his hat from Cora-san same as Luffy gotten his from Shanks. They way Law looked at Luffys hat at one moment makes me think that.
Also Laws and Luffys wanted poster look very alike and maybe its pointing to more parallels.
ooo i like this. that would be really cool. plus i've always liked law best from all the supernovas. maybe his intentions for one piece are very similar to luffies??? now im super curious. I suspect we'll get a law background this arc since it seems to be quite focused on him and it would be much appreciated.

Shanks himself already has to be insanely powerful to be matched with Kaido (I think he is considered better than Kaido). The majority of members on Whitebeard's ship couldn't stand up to his conqueror's haki. Plus when Shanks arrived Mihawk nearly pissed his pants. Even teach who had Whitebeard's power and his original darkness power, looked like he was about to cry.

Shanks even managed to make Kaido retreat (or even defeated him) in no time flat when Kaido was going to challenge Whitebeard.

I believe that Oda is going to make Shanks the strongest Yonkou.

That's funny because you were one of the guys who always say that a Yonko's power is due to his crew/allies and stuff, and now you literally made WB's crew look like nothing by reducing to only 1 or 2 strong characters worth mentioning

Being allies is different than literally join them tho, that's why I do believe they're allies, but I can't see them joining Shanks... At least not all of them, could see Marco joining him tho

Thanks for pointing that out, I will clarify.

I did only consider Marco and one or two others to join, not all commanders. ;) If all were to join it would increase Shanks powers incredibely and might even topple the ballance between the Yonkou towards his crew, making Big Mam look rather feeble within the quartet. And yeah it's true, not only the commanders are an important factor but the overall number of subordinates that can control territories, which is why I often ask myself how he is able to hold his ground there. Will we ever see allies of Shanks?

I can see Marco joining Shanks for example, but not the whole crew that's why I did say it would be too much and would make Shanks too strong to defeat (by BB I bet)

We may see his allies if a fight happens between him and BB, they're fated to fight, and I bet that Shanks will probably lose too

Personally, i don´t think anyone of the WB would join Shanks since their pride as sons of WB would not allow it and personally, i think Shanks understands that as well. His remark on the Moby Dick was more a joke than anything else imo.

Well I thought it was a joke too, until Whitebeard died, that is. We've seen many examples of how innocent remarks like that one ended up being foreshadowings.

They were not strong enough to protect WB turfs, they were shattered as group and hated as crew by plenty of other New World pirates. Some probably quit- rest had no choice but to join other crews. Shanks crew is best choice as they were shown rather friendly with each other compared to other Yonko crews relations that were shown.

Some of WB pirates being part of Shanks crew would make most senes for me.

I would accept this explanation if it were any other pirate crew but it was made clear that the members of the WB Pirates were ready to follow WB till death and beyond it. Joining another pirate crew also entails accepting a different flag (which is obviously a symbol) and accepting a different leader, something they were shown to never accept.
I also don´t understand why it is a given that they were shattered as group since their admiration for WB is something they still share with each other.

The Whitebeard pirates as they were before were shattered, otherwise Marco would have been one of Yonkou now. I agree that they would retain their flag in honor of Whitebeard, but that doesn't mean they can't be in an alliance with the Yonkou that was friendliest toward them.

If for nothing else, than to get revenge against Blackbeard, which they probably can't do on their own now.

From my point of view they SHOULD be shattered because they lost their leader- father figure. WB pirates as crew had character of family, family without father is no longer a family.

Marco, Jozu and Vista seemed to be pirates for their whole life, always going under lead of Whitebeard- how they would fill up gap after him if not by joining other person that would treat them as good as Whitebeard did? They were leaded most of their lifes(Marco and Jozu almost for sure as they were shown to be under WB for decades) and I didnt seen anyone in WB crew with aspirations to become successor. It seemed to me like Ace who died was meant to be that person in future, like he was special to Whitebeard in one more way than others.

Without Whitebeard and his successor they probably didnt had much choice than to join someone like Shanks or quit piracy.
I would bet some money on Marco being part of Shanks crew but I dont expect Jozu to join somehow. I rather see him dying to BB pirates that are on power hunt and as he is now left with one arm they probably made him target. In that case Shiliew is on top of "who would get Jozus DF" list.

Won't help him against Zoro, though.

In other words, I see what you did there. :p

I don´t have a father but still had a family lol^^

Marco showed no restraint in talking with Shanks equally, furthermore, in the war we have seen that he was the one who ordered most of the crew around, with or without Whitebeard´s prior consent, so i don´t see a problem with him taking the lead.

Well he was the 1st division commander so he held the most authority within the crew after the father. The eldest son so to speak.

Yeah they can hardly erase their tattoos of the WB flag, and being an allied crew to Shanks would also allow them to be allied to Luffy later on, if something were to happen to Shanks before the end or before Luffy get's to meet him, so it surely would have it's advantage too.

Father centric would have probably been the better choice of words. Many children grow up without a father, but WB had no mother figure, they were all lost sons, with Big Mam being a mother, Kaidou probably being the bad uncle, Shanks the funny one and Teach now the crazy cousin or something.

A realistic Nami cosplay, but no tatt.:3c

This is an absolutely horrible thinking in my opinion. This is a crew that has followed him for probably 50+ year, and had already stopped doing "pirate stuff" years ago. They have immense pride in being part of the now-legendary WB Pirates; bearing a symbol they swore to carry for the rest of their lives(as demonstrated by Ace, who referred to that symbol as his "greatest pride and joy"). You really think they are so pathetic as to run for other crews for protection(or any other reason)? This is so un-Oda-like not to mention it will be like taking a dump on everything they stood for in the war. Just look at Rayleigh, his Captain died and he quit Piracy decades ago, he didn't run to WB even though he was a very close friend of both him and his Captain(shown when he cried at WB's death).

The Legendary crew that has equaled the Roger Pirates, one of the leading figures of the Roger Era, now servants for some greenhorn? They'd be a laughing stock, not only in the Manga, but also for some readers(including me). A character(s) humiliation on some Kishimoto status.

Greenhorn? They all seem to be equally old and Shanks is far from being one with the title of emperor, and old member of the PK's crew. Servants!? Whhaaaaat!? Do Beckmann, Lou or Yasopp look like anything like serving people? They party and have fun, member are on the same stage as long as their skills are fitting as far as we have seen.

I meant for situation when group of people is following father figure- this kind of family. Whitebeard seemed to be lynchpin of Whitebeard pirates and many relations in New World.
Marco in my opinion somehow doesnt cut as leader. He ordered Vista around ect but he wasnt shown in any way as someone with ambition of his own. Maybe I should add "yet".

Horrible is that most of them didnt even had 50 years of age :p How can you tell that Yonko crew stopped "pirate stuff" years ago?

Join up to someone new doesnt mean erase the past btw.

Also dont compare WB pirates to Roger pirates as second were very small group with different goal, dream of their captain.

Aaaaaaannnddddd... chill :3c
Some of them can join Shanks main crew, or help him to maintain his islands. Not mop deck for him:teehee

They have members of all ages. For one, WB stated that all he wanted was a family, and he obtained what he wanted as he told Roger. From what we've seen, all they do is sail randomly and party. Those who join the crew to wreck havoc, do so on their own under WB's name(shown when he asked Ace to go wild bearing his name).

It's humiliating.

They were equal as pirates more or less.

I won't chill man, don't say that about my favorite crew. The thought alone is terrifying :scry

The islands already fell. Their time is over. A New Age has started. They enjoyed their time, but it's done now. At least save some face, disappear and become a legend instead of living under a greenhorn and becoming a laughing stock.

Think about it like this: When Marco, Jozu and the other WB pirates were veterans and fighting in the harsh era of pirates, Shanks was a cleaning boy on one of their rival's ship. And now they shall work under him and call him "Captain"? I would think this is enough humiliation for an ordinary person to want to die, let alone pirates who are all about pride. To them, Shanks is as greenhorn as any. Servants or not, how painful will it be to call someone "Captain" After the death of their "Father" who they used to call Captain for decades? I'd imagine it's pretty painful.
