He’s asking when has Luffy healed during fight??? When had Luffy fought this long in a fight??? Apply common sense man!!! You tell us to ignore how the human body works but I don’t know what you expect us to offf or what you’re basing your explanation off
@Pro Ban Corps Yes he never fought this long but what was he doing for all this time? Getting beaten even more and taking even more damage. Unless you suggest his healing ability, which somehow miraculously came to be, is working at light speed then i dont know whats the point of this duscussion.
You want to tell me that his healing ability which doesnt exist is outhealing the damage hes receiving?

I’m not saying it’s obvious healing but say he got stabbed 1hour ago he’ll still have an open wound, but will be plugged quicker due to his heightened healing... his metabolism is fast so his body is able to brea down food faster than a normal person. Note metabolism is the rate at which your body makes use of food. So this includes catabolism and anabolism... Luffy isn’t as fast as flash, however he’s still got accelerated healing from what we’ve seen... he heals faster than Sanji and Zoro for e.g
Also if you wanna say he’s not eaten meat... I’ll argue his body is using his muscles as in normal human your body starts using you muscles and fat for nourishment if you’ve been deprived.
if we do some research online there is self healing rubber made by German company for tires which naturally heals itself. so self healing rubber does exist in a research lab possibly in real life.
my point is that it's possible for rubber to self-heal so with the higher gears since he increases his blood and air circulation and all biological processes so maybe it increases his rubber healing powers.
You are giving his recovery too much credit. He cant heal the stabbing wound nowhere as fast as you suggest. According to you that wound is already plugged and doesnt exist anymore, not causing him trouble which is not the case. @amit-monsterman999 Question is, does Oda know about that rubber?
Jokes aside, if he has such healing ability he would have no scars but he has them.

One more time Nik, I agree this fight is nowhere near a Luffy victory, or at least shouldn't be. But a stab should be no problem for someone who can compress his muscles (even Netero did that in hunter x hunter lol) and move his body by stretching (not contracting muscles). Technically, there is no wound that can stop the rubber man, as long he has his will and his stamina.
Anyway, a lot of things doesnt really make sense like a man fighting for half a day or strings attached to clouds. Just let things go.
PS. I'm not sure Doffy can become strings, not that it matters for this discussion
great chapter, luffy's hardening is weaker that katakuri's, so to me the best case, would be a draw. (in case, karakuri carelessly stabbed himself too deep...)
but probably, i expect luffy' to lose for this round,
expect, this loss to trigger the awakening of luffy's DF,
luffy will be able to control items around him (like big rocks) as his own body ( or an extension of his body), turning them into rubber, and use haki and attack with them, etc....
Yea, snakeman looks like it throws a weaker punch compared to bound man, but there is something interesting to note.
If we look at gear forth punches, we would see that his punch is more powerful when he lands it during the uncompressing phase.
Kong gun for example sent doflamingo flying a reasonable distance, but, culvarine couldn't achieve the same feat.
The difference between the two is that -
Luffy uncompresses the Kong gun directly on the opponent, whereas, the culvarine lands way after he uncompresses his fists, this could explain why the Kong gun (and Rhino Snieder and KKG) has more raw power than culvarine.
I think it's the same thing here, luffy compresses his fists just like bound man, but he haven't uncompressed any snakeman's punch directly on katakuri like he did with bound man, this could explain why it feels like bound man is way stronger than snakeman.

i meant the fact that luffy is feeling pain, despite of using his armement at max level. so this mean he still needs to get a stronger Haki. (sounds logical since Katakuri is older and more skilled)

That's true, honestly, I'm confused as I don't get what's going on, few chapters ago it seemed like gear3 could match his strength mochi, now even gear4 is no good as luffy's the one feeling pain just as you pointed out.
Really hope he learns or improves because it's very clear to me now that he stands no chance against any Emperor.

Yes He will have scars... because when healing, Your body over compensates n collagen. Say the wounds is clogged means scab formation not like wolverine type of healing... do some reading around wound healing man. If you understand the process and realise it’s faster in Luffy then you’d understand why he might be feeling better(not in peak condition).

I think Katakuri is feeling pain too but he’s such a guy(read this like Madara in UNS: 4) that he won’t complain about it to Luffy. We see him spit up blood and that as well.
@Pro Ban Corps Do you think Akainu was wiping the floor with Aokiji for 9 days and decided to finish it on the 10th day? You are completely missing the point.
When you fight evenly most of the attacks get blocked, deflected or avoided so you wont take damage anywhere close to what damage Luffy is taking by getting obliterated for 10 hours.
Let's be realistic. Admiral fight lasted 10 days off the screen, it could have lasted 10 years off the screen as well but that aint happening with Luffy. You cant have a 10 day long fight with the protagonist off the screen, we have 10-hour fight with decent on-screen time here with Katakuri and all the readers want at this point is for it to just end. Fight longer than a day with on-screen time aint happening so its pointless to discuss it.
We don't know how the fight went though. And we also did have Luffy go through a half-a-day fight against Cracker earlier, but that was off-screened. I'm sure we'll have some fights that will take a long time but be on-screened, especially since Luffy will be fighting some of the best fighters.

If that's true, then why didn't it come into play against LUcci? Luffy was still taking hits and still went down until Usopp motivated him to stand up again.

well at that time luffy had no idea of hardening when he fought lucci if i recall.
then there's the fact that he doesn't know he can do this he is doing this unconsciously or his body is unconsciously doing this thanks to the fight or flight response.
remember luffy isn't the smartest light bulb so he has no idea he can mentally unlock this power right now its all reflex

dont think he knows that about rubber but if yo keep hitting hte same place multiple times i assume you will tear and crack it hence we see the wounds and scars we see also as i posted above this guy he's doing this unconsciously ie he has no mental awareness he can even heal himself hehe he ain't the smartest and most intelligent person to begin with
Do we have any facts here, statements and examples in manga which show his healing ability? Or we are just assuming here? Tbh, I don't recall it ever being mentioned that he has healing abilities.

He didn't, but how would that stop him from healing/healing faster with Gear 2 instead of taking damage and going down for a while, and then being unable to move after the fight?
But he's not the dullest light bulb either. He'd notice something.

Seems like luffy unlocked the ability of accelerated digestion and healing right after the cracker battle, when Nami observed he was burning the food really fast, she became physically shocked and asked if luffy really was human, lol.
I'm certain he unlocked it there because if he had it before now, Nami wouldn't have been surprised because she definitely would've seen it before.
While fighting katakuri, he became aware he could do it, that's why he ran back and forth in quick succession to burn it really quickly before attacking katakuri.
Good to know our boy luffy is capable of feats even most top tier would only dream of, it shows his growth.
Atleast, we now know Kaido won't be knocking luffy out with one hit or at all, best power up ever, atleast for now anyway.
She doesn't need to seduce them, especially men like pound, she can always threaten them, that would be more effective.
When bigmom decides it's you she wants, saying No would have dire consequences especially for one's family and friends.
@kcd Since you still believe in that accelerated digestion without realizing that its a gag, a moment for fun, go re-read chapter 827. Both Chopper and Luffy are fat in one panel and in the next they are both back to normal. Did Chopper unlock that mysterious ability as well?

I observed he's been healing throughout this fight, especially the silent whistle attack, his left eye getting a bit better, e.t.c., so forgive me for trying to rationalise how he does it or whether it's possible, as opposed to straight up calling it bs.
I also observed his fatness (basically how he became against cracker) was relevant enough to lead to a form of gear fourth called tank man (stuffed version), luffy also gave Nami the reason as to why he shrinks that fast anyway, chapter 843 (because gear4 is very tasking, so he burns calories a lot faster), his body had to find a way to cope, from what we've seen, it accelerated how fast he digests food to replace the stamina he uses just to keep up with the energy demand, and in the process, gradually heal.
So, you can laugh all you want or cover your face if you think the conclusion I arrived at is lame or stupid.

That Chopper scene was a gag moment, no doubt. And there have been many others like that. The scene of the chapter I inserted serves or follows no gag-moment at all. But when the author emphasizes on how fast Luffy shrinks back to normal over time, by making him shrink more and more from panel to panel and additionally letting us readers know through Nami, it definitely isn't a gag and should tell us that Luffy's metabolism just works faster.
Come on man, you are grasping at straws right now.
Exactly, its over-exaggerated, by a lot. In this example, while Nami spoke few words he burned it all in a matter of seconds. In fight with Katakuri he was less fat and had to run to burn it, quite contradicting actions. Why run it off when he can burn it even faster by doing nothing? It is a gag, simple as that. Oda loves those and One Piece is full of those moments but hardcore fans trying to justify gag moments with some scientific explanations lol.
And since we getting scientific, if he really burned it that fast there is no way he would last 1 hour without food, he would die of hunger. He would burn his muscle mass as well and there was never such indication. You can try to justify gag moment all you want but they remain a gag.
