Ground Rules for the Power Level Discussion Thread

As always, please follow the guidelines set by the Forum Rules that apply across the board.

It's important that discussions from a current chapter are spoiler tagged until 24h have passed from an english release.

• For the sake of constructive discussion, where and when possible please quote/ source any information you provide. Particularly when it comes to conversations carried over from other threads.
• Avoid passive agressive posts, sly remarks or baiting/trolling. You can certainly have fun or disagree without it being at someone's expense.
• Only use anime examples that are canon and as means to provide clarity to pages in the manga. Any other anime material is otherwise non-canon and should only be referenced if it can be proved that the mangaka had approved it.
• We will strive to avoid repetitive discussions and any extensive battle topics will be guided to the Davy Back fight to existing threads or new ones can be made there.

As of now these topics are shelved due to repetitiveness or until the manga can present us with material to further discussions:

1. Shanks v Mihawk
2. Hand to hand fighters > Swordsmen
3. Zoro > Luffy
4. Zoro v Sanji
5. Is Smoker a top 30 character?
6. Mihawk's rank within the story
7. Law having CoC currently.
8. Katakuri > Kaido/Luffy/Etc.

If you wish to continue any of these discussion and remove it from the list, you will need to provide manga material as proof. If there's also anything you think we've covered numerous times, let me know and I'll update the list.

This is the only warning there'll be regarding these ground rules, anything no adhering will be removed. So please just check your posts before posting them.

And I'm pretty sure whichever Manga that is, it isn't One Piece.
You should post a panel to support your claim if you really want to go down that lane.

I think Kidd did say that he injured a sweet commander. Probably when he told Caribou in Udon how he lost his arm.

Then @Web_Pirate is correct. The only thing wrong with that is the inconsistency it creates.
Kidd claims he injured one of Big Mom's commander (Snack).
Brulee claims no other SN until Luffy was able to do any harm except Urouge and she mentioned Kidd, Bege, and Apoo among the losers.


The only way to make sense of both claims is that Kidd lost to Snack but was able to injure him.
Making Urouge's job easier when he embarked on WCI.

I dont think he lost, he caused trouble until he got something that he wanted and left. We still dont know what he took from WCI.

I mean it says nowhere that they lost, right? Just mentions that Urogue is the only one who managed to defeat someone notable.
Kidd apparently stalled until he got what he wanted and then retreated.

I'm guessing Kidd was sneaky, and Bruleé and the rest of the Big Mom Pirates doesn't know he stole something.

Another supernova that I would really like to participate in the upcoming war is Urouge. His ability is simply awesome. The alliance could really use his brute strength.

I also want to see more of Bege. He's my favorite supernova and second favorite non strawhat character after Moriah. We seriously need more of that big father-castle golem form ( it reminds me of Ruin boss from Dragon quest VIII: Journey of the cursed king). I would pay good money too see him go up against sanjuan wolf in that form.

Also curious about Denjiro's power. He clashed with Zoro equally for a brief time. Yonkou commander level? Maybe on the lower end.

What's your wishlist guys?

Interesting matchup. Any particular reason for it? I'd like to see her face Denjiro. If she's too much for him, then Zoro. With the amount of enemies in Wano, I doubt Zoro will have only one serious fight, and this swordwoman is perfect opponent.

Maybe it will be Hancock? The ability to turn the opponent into stone, vs adding liquid to your own body to counter it?

Or Katarina Devon possibly? She has a sword ( too bad she lost the spear )and a hax ability to boot. Plus, she likes women. Also, I have a feeling she's in the upper echelon in terms of power and she's quite cool.

The strongest female character we've seen so far is no doubt Big Mom, then Caterina Devon and then Smoothie.
Knowing Sanji's stupid principle about fighting/kicking women, he'll be facing instant death if paired with any of them. The worst will be Smoothie since she's by far the prettiest of the 3 and he's known to be a total fool when confronted by beautiful women.

I still don't know who'll be the right opponent for either Smoothie or LinLin but given their past encounter with Jinbe, if he reappears in the war, he should be able to match Smoothie in combat if in his element (water). Otherwise, it'll be a difficult one for the first son of the sea.

I don't think Katarina is that strong. I dont think she is top 3 of the BB pirates. I think shiiryu, burgess and wolf/pizzaro is end game top 3.

Well how do you rate the shichibukai strenth overall? I rate like this:

Say a character is at YC1 level (marco, beckman, king, shiiryu, katakuri), . That means that if the character fought all YC1 all out (one at a time) - the character would win 1, draw 3 and loose 1 fight. This is without the character getting stronger each fight ofc. Like luffy would.

1. Mihawk (Low admiral level - He would win 4 or 5 fight vs. the YC1 and fight even or loose vs. the admirals)
2. Wevil (low YC1 level. He would loose 2-3 fight against YC1 -> he is not prime WB level, but only "a young WB")
3. Hancock (YC2 level - could win a close fight against smoothie and thus is the 2nd strongest women in series)
4. Conscious Kuma (YC3 level)
5. Jinbei (Just below YC3 level - loose 2-4 and maybe win 1 vs YC3).
6. Doflamingo (Just below YC3 level - loose 2-4 and maybe win 1 vs YC3).
7. Crocoboy (Veteran level (Snack/Perospero/Owen/Daifuki) - i think his fight with luffy is a wrong estimate of his real strength from what we saw at MF)
8. Moria (Low veteran level. Would loose to Snack/Perospero)
9. Buggy (No level. Has a gigantic potential if he learn haki and awakens DF).

Law is rising in strengh but he did loose bad to doflamingo, so that puts him around croco for now. BB is also rising in strengh and is the strongest old and current shichibukai now.

Anyway - what do you guys think?
