Ground Rules for the Power Level Discussion Thread

As always, please follow the guidelines set by the Forum Rules that apply across the board.

It's important that discussions from a current chapter are spoiler tagged until 24h have passed from an english release.

• For the sake of constructive discussion, where and when possible please quote/ source any information you provide. Particularly when it comes to conversations carried over from other threads.
• Avoid passive agressive posts, sly remarks or baiting/trolling. You can certainly have fun or disagree without it being at someone's expense.
• Only use anime examples that are canon and as means to provide clarity to pages in the manga. Any other anime material is otherwise non-canon and should only be referenced if it can be proved that the mangaka had approved it.
• We will strive to avoid repetitive discussions and any extensive battle topics will be guided to the Davy Back fight to existing threads or new ones can be made there.

As of now these topics are shelved due to repetitiveness or until the manga can present us with material to further discussions:

1. Shanks v Mihawk
2. Hand to hand fighters > Swordsmen

4. Zoro v Sanji
5. Is Smoker a top 30 character?

If you wish to continue any of these discussion and remove it from the list, you will need to provide manga material as proof. If there's also anything you think we've covered numerous times, let me know and I'll update the list.

This is the only warning there'll be regarding these ground rules, anything no adhering will be removed. So please just check your posts before posting them.

The latest SBS has Oda revealing that if Nami had Enel's DF she would be the strongest Strawhat (excluding Luffy)

Imagine that for a direct powerscaling quote directly from ODA????

Imagine a SH crew with a battle hierarchy like this:

Sanji

Yeah, that's absurd. The sheer absurdity of zoro being beneath jinbe... Or sanji being in the list at all.....

Enel's DF is one of the strongest logias, and it suits Nami's way of fighting perfectly. Even then, if we're seriously powerscaling, I don't feel like she would even be as strong as Enel if she ate it right now. She would have greater potential in how to use it, but just taking into account Enel's haki she would still lose now.

I'm just reiterating what Oda said. Without haki Idk how powerful she could get so I definitely agree. Wat would make her the most powerful is not her logia ability per see but her ability to alter the on a whim. Tsunami's, infernos... she'd be more destructive than WB with all that knowledge.

I wouldn't take Oda too seriously when he says these kinds of things, but if we have to, this is the only translation I've found of the SBS:
"the weather sis, I feel like she’s gonna become the strongest(excluding Luffy)"

The strongest: not the strongest strawhat, the strongest in the world.

She could easily become the second strongest with the goro goro and some training, but neither would she immediately become it and neither is Luffy the strongest yet, and we are over the time at which we thought eating a logia made you automatically the strongest.

I think Zoro missing a slash and huffing loudly is a sign that there's a drawback, though he's not out of juice yet.

It'd really be amazing to see Nami with the Goro Goro no Mi. It's not only a powerful fruit, but combine it with her knowledge of weather and she'd be a complete monster, even without knowing Haki. I hope Oda draws those hypotheticals in the future. They sound really fun.

Luffy probably can hold Enma and survive the sideeffects like Zoro did, but actually use it efficiently to cut someone? Not in a thousand years. Twice in the series have they made it a point that Luffy should refrain from using swords.

Yeah but... he can still use the sword. NOwhere near as well, but all he has to do is aim and cut. This doesn't really disprove my point, it's not like I said he'd use it even remotely well.

Speaking of Nami with Enel's fruit, if Usopp eats Vanderdecken's fruit instead of Blamenco's (I don't even remember who's that and what his fruit ability is) would that make him stronger or dismiss his ability as a sniper since he will have an auto-targetting ability?

Vanderdecken needs to have touched his target so not really that good for an actual sniper whose purpose is to take out the enemy from a distance.

Blamencos fruit allows Usopp to carry huge weaponry into battle like cannons, catapults and the likes and he can store any of his inventions, would never run out of ammunition including gigantic projectiles, etc.

It'd make him stronger, but it wouldn't affect his ability as a sniper unless he can find a way to touch his enemies and ensure they can't defend. I Wiki'd Blamenco on One Piece Wiki, and that's definitely a better fruit for him as it'd make him stronger by allowing him to carry more weapons and items. Plus, Usopp can be an even better support simply by carrying meat for Luffy.

goes to show that knowledge is more important than strength. Nami can be so clever in battle. I am sure if she was around, Big Mama would be a bit less effective.
And one can argue that Luffy will be stronger because he's rubber and electricity doesnt affect him

Perhaps, but it kinda takes away the only thing that he is good at.. Usopp's sniper skills are only rivaled by Van Auger from what we've seen...

Also, his attacks usually never miss, and he mainly tries to disable the enemy vs knocking them off, specially since pop greens.. Usopp would need a much more powerful DF ability to make him insanely strong...

what are we talking about? A fantasy fight of Mihawk vs Kaido? I still vote Kaido in a high diff fight.

Aside from that Mihawk would have to go through Kaido’s crew in order to get to him. That’s a heavy loss there for Mihawk...way too many strong opponents that would tire him
