Ground Rules for the Power Level Discussion Thread

As always, please follow the guidelines set by the Forum Rules that apply across the board.

It's important that discussions from a current chapter are spoiler tagged until 24h have passed from an english release.

• For the sake of constructive discussion, where and when possible please quote/ source any information you provide. Particularly when it comes to conversations carried over from other threads.
• Avoid passive agressive posts, sly remarks or baiting/trolling. You can certainly have fun or disagree without it being at someone's expense.
• Only use anime examples that are canon and as means to provide clarity to pages in the manga. Any other anime material is otherwise non-canon and should only be referenced if it can be proved that the mangaka had approved it.
• We will strive to avoid repetitive discussions and any extensive battle topics will be guided to the Davy Back fight to existing threads or new ones can be made there.

As of now these topics are shelved due to repetitiveness or until the manga can present us with material to further discussions:

1. Shanks v Mihawk
2. Hand to hand fighters > Swordsmen
3. Zoro > Luffy
4. Zoro v Sanji
5. Is Smoker a top 30 character?
6. Mihawk's rank within the story

If you wish to continue any of these discussion and remove it from the list, you will need to provide manga material as proof. If there's also anything you think we've covered numerous times, let me know and I'll update the list.

This is the only warning there'll be regarding these ground rules, anything no adhering will be removed. So please just check your posts before posting them.

It could be that. But remember also the time when he froze the two tidal waves created by Whitebeard. He sent ice strings or something from the palms of his hands. The attack's name was "Ice Age".

I see what you mean. But freezing things without adding water doesn't draw the line between an ice and a cold person. He could be an ice person who could do both, though the debate about adding water or not does not seem important imo.

In the end it's still just a contrived way of creating more of whatever their element is but it is interesting knowing the nuances.

great, thanks for the quote as well... so in that case Aokiji is expanding his DF presence and the cold is cooling the water vapor around, which explains the leaf blade as well. as leaves contain a lot of water, it would make sense...
Even if he freezes a body, its using the water vapor around him.. technically speaking, antarctica has the least amount of water vapor around on the planet, so it would e the worst place for him to battle.

Well, only certain fans thought Sanji didn't have a good showing there already...and Sanji is going to beat another ancient Zoan most likely right now, one stronger than P1 and Ulti.

He's still strong people! Those trying to kick him out of the monster trio were really only ever setting themselves up for disappointment.

So far Sanji only landed a kick on Queen. At least in the last chapter it didn't looked like they were having a match, and were back at fighting fooder...

I think Sanji + Chopper vs Queen and Perospero might be a very interesting fight to see... It'll allow both of them to team up against the opponents, once Chopper's helped Zoro heal.

Maybe we'll see Zoro help Marco take King down as wll.

He's not an Okama. Aside from lipstick being a part of his character design, he doesn't have the mannerisms that Oda usually portrays with them. Aside from that, very early on in the arc, it was made pretty clear that he was attracted to Hiyori as Komurasaki and showed a similar reaction to Sanji when he found out she had "died".

Since we're on the topic of Queen, I really wonder what his true fighting style is. Sanji usually takes on individuals who use some form of Martial Arts and Queen's design features a few traditional Chinese styles and aesthetics, like the braid and the Fu Manchu, so it'll be interesting to see if that's the case. and if it is, I wonder how his Hybrid Form will come into play. Will we be seeing the true power of Kaku's Pasta Machine technique? Queen should be a master of his fruit compared to Kaku and they both have long necks, so I think that'd be fun to see.

I know Douglas Bullet isn't canon. But what do you think after all we have seen from Kaido, would Kaido beat bullet in 1v1 ? I feel like they are similar in terms of strength, just kaido is more durable, so ultimately Kaido would win.

Douglas wipes the floor with kaido.

He was able to wash most of the supernovas while fighting them all at once. Kaido with yonko backup is having trouble with just 5.

Yes, but later in the movie Luffy overpowered him in G4 with new techniques, a feat that luffy couldn't accomplish even after power up with haki flow and conqueror haki yet vs Kaido. After 9 scabbards, 5 SN, Kaido still seems fresh and unfazed.
