About Sting, there is one thing I don't get at all. Hiro emphasized the holiness of White DS magic (word "holy" in his attacks' name, stigma he put on Natsu, Rogue stating Sting's light would kill him if he went too deep in the darkness etc.), yet he probably forget about it in Tartaros arc, because by logic Sting should kill all demons with this holiness, yet he couldn't stand against one and without Rogue he wouldn't take another. Hiro like to bash Sting just like Gajeel
If it turns out that Bradman is indeed alive, then it would look strange, if Hiro finally recall it, which doesn't mean I don't want to see it

Yeah, I wondered that about Sting/Tartoros too, Hiro kind of messed up there lol. I really hope Bradman's alive, it would make sense and would let more Spriggan fights happen, I'm pretty sure there's no downside to Bradman returning.

I am doing a through study on the reasons of failures of the Spriggans.Perhaps if they had not committed this mistakes they might have won their battles


Ajeel-Super cocky and playing with his opponents.Basically most Spriggan's suffered due to this fault.Surely he and Brandish would not have won the battle because Natsu and Laxus was present in the guild but if he had killed Erza instead of playing with her then it would have been a great achievement.It would have given a great psychological blow to Fairytail.


Brandish-No desire to fight.If she had joined the fight then she could have turned Magnolia into destroyed city and caused great problem to Fairytail.

Wahl Icht-He allowed the opposing forces to flee in the first day even though he killed Beth and others.He made fatal errors during his battle with Laxus.He attacked him with Rail gun thereby rejuvenating him and ofcourse cancelling his MPB.

Dimaria-Same cockiness and playing with her enemies.Allowed enemy forces to flee in the first day.Just imagine what would have happened if she had killed Kagura and Sherria in the first attempt.Should have ended the Age seal when Ultear appeared.Taking both Wendy and Sherria without Age Seal should not have been difficult for her.

Neinhart-Most pathetic of all.He should have joined the fight with Dimaria and Wahl from the first instead of sitting alone.His magic is not suitable against current lot of fresh wizards.He should have brought Tempesta against Laxus and Silver against Gray.Just imagine Laxus at the same time fighting against Wahl,Tempesta and Hades.

God Serena-None actually except for cockiness.He had the misfortune of facing Acnologia.

Jacob-Attitude problem.Should have killed everyone in his dimension in the very beginnig.

Irene-Yes Irene she had also made some mistakes.Allowed enemy forces to escape in the first day.Should have killed ST and BP members instead of crucifying them.She and Bradman and probably Larcade only killed non important members.No need to interfere with Acnologia's plan as there was no Dragon Slayer on Alvarez side in the north.She should have joined Bradman and Larcade in fighting Northern forces then she could have decimated the northern forces.Her Universe One magic may create problems for Alvarez later.Northern forces were few and now Makarov and the guild joined them.

Bradman-Allowed enemy forces to escape in the first day even though he killed many of it's members.Crucified them instead of killing.Should have used Macro and Sensory Curse against Gajeel.

Larcade-Not much till now except that he allowed northern forces to escape in the first day.Crucified or allowed them to be crucified in the first day instead of killing.

Hadn't she ended her Age Seal, she would have had to face more opponents? I ever questioned this long time ago, but someone answered so.

After Universe One what do you think has happened to all of the Spriggan?

Imo, only God Serena is confirmed dead. Bradman would be next, not sure if he died and just went to the underworld. Wahl was broken apart but he isn't human, so anything's possible there. Neinhart is probably dead too if you ask me. Even if he's KO'd by GC he would have drowned.

That leaves the rest...

- Ajeel will be alive, I can see Invel finding him.
- DiMaria is also chained up. I can see Wendy finding her. But if the enemy finds her then she'll be loose. She might even take those magic handcuffs and tie people up when she freezes time.
- Jacob wasn't killed I believe
- August/Brandish duo ie best duo in the series. I couldn't guess where they'll go. I am pretty interested in these 2,
- And there's Larcade who is the forgotten Spriggan. It's a little weird that he hasn't been revealed properly.

Why Tempesta?

1)Then she could have avoided the Third Origin.Taking them without Age Seal should not have been difficult for her.Then against others she might have used Age Seal.As we had seen that Ultear was disappearing from that dimension eventually.
2)Why Tempesta because already sick Laxus facing Kamikaze Tempesta would have surely killed him due to MPB.

Something came to my mind about Bradman. When Zeref killed Mard Geer, we saw he changed demon into book and destroy it. Every demon was created from one book. If Bradman is really demon form the book of Zeref, maybe Black Mage can still revive him, unless the book was destroyed?

I don't get why he didn't just build an army of Bradman's, surely he has the skill to create numerous copies of them? I'm feeling that Bradman survived through Universe One, though that's a good point about his book still being there, at this point I'd say there's a decent chance of Bradman returning.

I wouldn't be surprised at if Alvarez or Vistarion had their own version of a Hell's Core in the palace.... the spot that Etherious can regenerate from. We'll see Hiro usually does a good job filling in backstories

Sure we know he's not human but that doesn't entirely mean he's an Etherious, we've already had tonnes of species in the series that were introduced that weren't human e.g the Giants from Sun Village and the Demons from Galuna Island. About him using the abilities of the Nine Demon Gates, we've already seen that it's possible for people other than the Etherious to use Curse Power, heck Mirajane can use Macro right now..

About him using the abilities of the Nine Demon Gates, we've already seen that it's possible for people other than the Etherious to use Curse Power, heck Mirajane can use Macro right now..

I would rank the spriggans by different classes like what others did, so all of these are just my thoughts about them. BTW I'll just post the Top 3 in each category.

Most Hyped Spriggan

1. August - His title "The Magic King" pretty much says for itself. He was hyped to know almost all of the magic that even Zeref who is about 400 years old knows lesser magic than him.
2. Irene - She was hyped to be around August's level and has been stated to be the only wizard who can stand up to August. Moreover, she was the first human mage who was acknowledged by Acnologia, so that adds up to her hype.
3. God Serena - Considering God Serena was once the strongest mage in Ishgar, I thought that he's the second strongest spriggan after August before Irene was introduced.

Most Epic Design

1. God Serena - I really like his design, especially the dharma wheel resemblance on his back. It makes him even look more godly.
2. Irene - At first, my sister and I thought that her design was too complicated but as the time goes on I learned how to fancy her design. She's like a wine while you see her, you even like her more.
3. Wahl/Brandish - These two are tied on the third spot. Honestly I don't like Wahl's base form, but when he transforms to his Assault Mode, he looks so badass. As for Brandish, I like her simple design. It's revealing but she looks so reserved and gorgeous. I remember Boa Hancock when I see her LOL.

Most Disappointing Spriggans

1. Neinhart - He was hyped so much like he's a beast, because he's not a team player and he looks so mysterious before he was introduced. Then it turns out that he's a fodder. Furthermore, I cannot get the fact that he underestimated Wahl and Dimaria, those two are better than him, especially Dimaria.
2. Dimaria - Maybe some of you are asking me why I'm disappointed at her, obviously she has shown better feats than most of the other spriggans. However, I thought that her magic will focus on sword fighting like a regular knight, then we found out that she has an age seal and worse is her God form. I think it would be much cooler if she earned the title of "the war princess" without any magic that are out of her epithet. Like Mihawk style LOL.
3. God Serena - When his face was first shown in chapter 440, he looks so beastly and mysterious, like the person that you shouldn't mess with, then it turns out that he has this cocky, playful attitude, but apart from that I don't have any problem with him.

Most Underrated Spriggans

1. Ajeel - Just because he lost so early doesn't mean he's a fodder. to be honest, I'm more impressed to him than Neinhart and Jacob.
2. Brandish - Many people think that Mashima was serious when Cana knocked her head with a single blow. Like seriously? Do you really think Mashima was serious when he wrote that scene. Obviously he was bluffing and joking around. Try to go back from the panels then you will see what's the difference between SERIOUS and GAG.
3. God Serena - Ajeel's statement about God Serena was too irrelevant because looking on his attitude he seems so cocky and arrogant, insisting that he can destroy the ishgar alone, then we saw what happened to him. Moreover, God serena was able to stomp the GOI with ease.

Lamest Spriggans

1. Invel - I dunno', he doesn't seemed so cool and interesting for me. I thought he was so boring like the serious type of guy, who is so formal and doesn't know how to joke. Actually when I first saw him he looks like the guy from Bleach with eyeglasses. I don't remember his name LOL.
2. Neinhart - His design looks so foolish, adding his arrogance puts him on this list.
3. Jacob - Obvious reasons, but better than Neinhart.

Coolest Magic

1. Age seal - I think the ability to stop time with just the click of your teeth is so cool, you can literally change the world by that, but of course you have to take care of your teeth, because if you lose some then you're fucked up.
2. Mass Manipulation - This magic is so destructive. You can literally alter the matter and topple a country at the same time.
3. 8 Dragon Lacrimas - Obviously this magic isn't that unique like those two above, but I think it is really cool to have multi-lacrimas, and be able to wield almost each type of element.

Most Badass Epithet/Title

1. Country Demolisher - It sounds so beastly, like it can literally kill you in a second.
2. The Winter General - I don't know but it seems so cool for me, especially the word "general" LOL am I weird??
3. The War Princess - When I first heared of it, it actually sounds so formidable. Like a badass knight.

P.S. I didn't include "The Magic King" because it seems so lame and common for me, but of course it sounds mighty.

Well, mainly because of curses. As far as we know it's something reserved for Zeref's demons. Bradman can use all curses Kyuukimon members have shown, so it looks like Zeref treated them like prototypes for creating Bradman. Anyway, we don't know what happened with Kyuukimon's books, maybe they became a base to create Bradman. If he really was created by Zeref, because as you said, it was never said openly, it was only Gajeel's deja vu

As for Mira, she took over Sayla with all her powers, that's why she can use Makro, but only in Sayla Soul.

So it's okay to say Neinhart is a fodder Spriggan but Ajeel isn't? That's absolutely not true. Neinhart actually overpowered every mage who was in the south at that very moment, which is far more impressive than BEING overpowered by Erza.

Neinhart didn't fought Erza, Kagura and Jellal. He fought Erza, Kagura, Jellal, Gray, Lyon, Laxus, Wendy, Juvia and Meredy altogether.

I don't think i've added my two cents on this conversation yet, so if you allow me i'll follow your post order to give my own opinion. =)

Aight here we go then.



Most Hyped Spriggan

1) Irene. While i'm still hoping to see more from her, Irene is the Spriggan that impressed me the most. If we talk about pure hype, the fact alone that Acno got impressed by her magic is something huge. She's not a person you want to mess with that's for sure. And her magic seems extremely interesting.
2) Dimaria. Age Seal - Enough said. God Soul Chronos was impressive as well, though not what puts her above the rest in my list. The ability to stop time is incredible.
3) God Serena. Short appearance unfortunately, but he was hyped to be the strongest mage of Ishgar, plus he defeated GoI + Jura. I personally don't think GoI and Jura are THAT weak, so God Serena's performance isn't to be downgraded. The 8 DS magic is definitely impressive and so far he's the only Spriggan who won his battle. I wish he hadn't encountered Acno so early in the war.

Now you might wonder why i didn't include August. Well, that's because of the little display of magic he had. By little i don't mean his attack was tiny and weak, i'm talking in terms of length: the fight was interrupted.
At first i was so hyped for him. But when he turned all black with his battle form, i got kinda disappointed. He was so much more badass with his old design. I dislike his battle form quite a lot and that ruined the character for me. I'm really hoping we get too see more of his powers and then i'll be proven wrong. I hope so.


Most Epic Design

1) Brandish. Alright call me a perv all you want, i love Brandish's design. I've loved it since the fiirst time she appeared, and then we got to know more about her personality - leading her to be my favourite Spriggan by far.
2) Wahl. I like robotic stufff. =) This guy looks badass.
3) Ajeel. There's something about him, that prevented me from disliking the character. His hair, his fierce posture, i don't know. I wish he could reappear - and this time without screwing things up from arrogance.

Where's August? Well, i like his design a lot TIL HE GOES BLACK SERIOUS FORM. Dont call me racist please.



Most Disappointing Spriggans

1. Neinhart. Should i really explain that... Alright...
You might say Jellal is very powerful, but come on. One attack from him and Neinhart is defeated? I expected better than this. His design is also pretty awful, especially considering that i was expecting a badass character. The disappointment is real with this Spriggan.
2. Jacob. That guy's hax magic is awesome, yet he screwed everything. This fight was full of bullshit, luck and gags, a real disappointment.
3. Bradman. The guy defeated 2 entire guilds and was pictured as the God of Death or something like that. Faces Gajeel --> gets defeated. He couldn't even use his curses properly. From someone who had SO MUCH to show, he was underwhelming in that fight.


Most Underrated Spriggans

1. Brandish. Well she kinda didn't show anything yet. We only know what kind of magic she uses, and that her magic power is gigantic. I'd rate her just a little below Dimaria (and that's very high on my list). Whether or not she's high tier or not, she's definitely not weak and not one we should understimate. Please Hiro, make her fight :/
2. God Serena. As i said above, GoI+Jura might not be extremely top tier, but they are not fodders. GS destroyed them without breaking a sweat. Plus he was portrayed as the best mage of Ishgar. He reminds me of Gildarts - so powerful that Hiro needs to nerf him by... Make him never appear anymore.
3. Neinhart........ JUST KIDDING.
EDIT: i can't give credit to that guy, he disappointed me way too much. But if i have to be honest, i'll admit i'm undrrestimating him quite a lot due to his mediocre appearance. He could be a beast, i'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
3. Jacob. He disappointment quite a lot because he could have done so much more. His hax is insane, to the point that only a few people (and/or bullshits/gags) could restrict him. Don't underestimate Jacob just because of his pitiful "fight".


Lamest Spriggans

Honorable mention: Neinhart.

Jokes aside, the only lame Spriggan imo is that guy. His design, his personality, his fight. Pretty much everything is laughable.
He could have at least moved... He could have defended himself. Fight by himself. He hid himself behind creations. Even Lucy kick isn't as lame as a Spriggan not able to do ANYTHING without his Historias.


Coolest Magic

1. Age Seal. Coolest, most impressive and imo strongest magic. There has to be a reason why August and Irene are rated higher than Dimaria - but for now, from what we've seen so far, Age Seal tops everything.
2. Mass Manipulation. As i said i'd rank Brandish just below Dimaria. She has much to show and unfortunately we can't have a precise idea of the extend of her power. But the magic itself is pretty cool.
3. Irene's magic. Whatever the name is, enchantement or whatever. Enchanting from an entire landscape to an entire country is powerful indeed, but power aside, her magic seems cool and i wish we'll see more of it.

Most Badass Epithet/Title

I only care about the Country Demolisher <3

As far as I know, she never said he is a demon. Levy said "He isn't human?!"

The reason is:-
i)Etherious only uses Curses and Mira when she took over an Etherious.
ii)He wears a demonic breastplate.
iii)His body is made of MPB.Only Etherious have MPB in their bodies like Tempesta or Keith.His manipulating of body is similar to Keith.
That is why Wiki also mentions him as an Etherious.

The problem I have with Neinheart is while his magic is really impressive, when Historia of Corpses doesn't work (like when Erza made Kyoka and others disappear or when Kagura sliced Simon), he's totally helpless. I don't mind if he had other kind of magic up his sleeve. He attacked Kagura with some light attack, but it's not enough. Moreover, he didn't appear on Zeref's order, he didn't want to cooperate with Dimaria and Wahl, from his silhouette he looked like a monster and in the end we get a cocky dandy in funny armor, who was one shooted by Jellal - that's not what many people expected, me included

I don't think I've done this, though I think most of you guys will know my thoughts:

Most Hyped Spriggan

1) August: I can't wait to see what happens with August, he's been hyped as knowing more magic that Zeref, casually put Brandish to sleep and let off that massive nuke. And he still has more to show, the hype is real.
2) Irene: As much as I dislike Irene I have to give her credit, she got praise from Acnologia and reshaped Fiore. Pretty impressive, can't wait to see more.
3) Lacarde: This may seem like a strange choice but we've seen Irene's and August's magic before we've seen a clear image of this guy, there has to be a reason. I'm expecting something pretty cool, I'm hyped for this guy.

Most Epic Design

1) Bradman: While he looks epic in his regular form, it's his "Third Seal" form that gets the award, that thing is so beastly but so simple, it looks like a pure black fire with white eyes, this is what a true demon looks like.
2) DiMaria: I don't actually know what particularly makes me like her design tbh, I think it's got the right amount of armour and elegance while still retaining it's simplicity, plus it looks regal.
3) Wahl: I love machines so Wahl was a shoe in, he has just the right balance of crazy in his design, especially his smile. His assault mode is pretty interesting too.

Most Disappointing Spriggans

1) Neinhart: He was only disappointing for one reason IMO, he was against Erza and Jellal, the dude was screwed the second they got there. I actually really liked him when they first arrived, his magic was unique and he was holding an entire front by himself but the second he started talking about Irene I started to feel disappointed because I realized he was a set up bad guy. Moments after, in true set up bad guy fashion, he was one-shotted.
2) Brandish: She's only disappointing for one reason, she hasn't fought yet. I've been waiting for a while now but nothing. I'm guessing she'll do it later but for now I'm disappointed in her (technically Hiro).
3) Bradman: For one reason, USE YOUR OTHER CURSES! As much as I love Bradman he was a victim of plot, he went from a guild stomping reaper of death to... a guy who gave two Nakama Tail wizards a chance to fight back. I get that he loves fighting but why didn't he just use Macro or Sensation against DF Gajeel? That fight was such a disappointment...

Most Underrated Spriggans

1) Jacob: The guy was screwed by plot, plain and simple. Had Happy not been there he would have transported the whole guild and killed them. Poor guy.
2) Neinhart: While he was disappointing he held the entire Southern front all by himself and was a prick whilst doing so, gotta love the villain who manipulates people whilst fighting them. He was true Sith material.
3) God Serena: This is kind of understandable, his only feat is stomping the GoI + Jura while the GoI's only feat is being stomped by him. It's still damned impressive and underrated as hell but this is understandable compared to Jacob and Neinhart.

Lamest Spriggans

1) Ajeel: So cocky, just unbearable. The difference between him and Neinhart is their overconfidence, one can hold an entire front by himself, the other dares to challenge Laxus when he almost got beat by Erza. I didn't really like his magic either.
2) Neinhart: I don't need to explain myself here, I'd be beating an already beaten, dead horse.
3) Jacob: More about his attitude, I get that it's supposed to be funny/help the plot but... I wasn't a fan.

Coolest Magic

1) Three Seals: Surprised? Seriously though, the descriptions of each seal and that badass transformation were too good.
2) Transport: This was cool, the idea was pretty fresh too though it did make me wonder, what would happen if Jacob could lose in his own dimension?
3) Age Seal: The most hax thing so far, it required the random-est interference in the manga so far just to intervene.

Magic King - Sometimes the generic title is the best IMO.
