American Ultra is a fun movie, and Kristen Stewart was delicious, emotive, and good.

Has anyone seen Deadpool yet?

I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm glad its box office numbers are paying off for the promo and work their team did to bring this film to life. The comedic elements can have you in stitches from the moment the first scene opens up and right until after the credits. It's a movie that doesn't try to take itself too seriously, even when it has to be present a serious topic, it won't last long and you're back to the character's comedic angle.

One that I could say to nitpick is that with all the jokes and whathaveyou happening around, you sometimes don't pay attention to the action/sfx and other elements in the film.

Speaking of sfx, I was really glad about how much Colossus we got to see in the film and Negasonic Teenage Warhead was a good cameo.

Oh Gina Carano needs to work on her acting to be honest; her performance was quite lacking.

Can't wait, I'm going to go see Deadpool tomorrow.

Wow, I hadn't paid much attention to who the kid was. Negasonic Teenage Warhead that's a pretty incredible deep cut. Even in the vast landfill of forgotten and abandoned X-Men characters.:XD

Yeah I thought the same when I read about her character; I had no idea who she was. This is what the director had to say about her casting and the character. To sum it up, it boils down to wanting a trainee for Colossus and loving that superhero name of Negasonic. Besides that, her character is very different to what I read from her comic representation.

Loved Deadpool. Even hearing how good it was it still managed to be better than I expected.

The opening sequence was so great. Colossus's classic vanilla hero and Negasonic's surly teenager were both pretty great additions too. Hope they both come back for the next one. In terms of additions for the sequel, along with Cable, I'd like to see Domino show up in some form. Those are the two characters from the Deadpool comics that I want to see most on the big screen.

And I'm really excited about the prospect of an X-Force movie now.

i09 has a pretty hilarious article on everything that was cut from Deadpool due to budget.

I bet they feel rather foolish about that now. Also kind of sheds some light on why the villains situation was the way it was. Ultimately, I think it worked out great. But, man, Fox really must not have believed in this project at all. I guess, they even shaved 7 million off the budget at the last second.

Which is directly related to that funny scene at the end where he forgets all his guns in the cab.

According to the article, Fox just couldn't afford that kind of budget like MCU and Disney could. But yeah, I guess it worked out for the best.

Also, Claudette Colbert's Cleopatra just didn't feel good. Dunno why, when I barely know anything about the actual Cleopatra.

Well simply put, to have money you have to make money. Deadpool was a gamble for them, so the budgets are usually lower for those sort of films, especially when you have to convince someone to greenlight a project after 10 years of trying. X-Men on the other hand, is their moneymaker, so they can invest a lot more in its production than Deadpool.

Good gamble that paid off, especially when they pulled $7mil from the budget, I think. However, didn't they make tons of money from the X-Men series? They could have used some of that money.

I feel like that money should go to making Apocalypse not look like Ivan Ooze.

Googled Ivan Ooze. Now that I've seen that resemblance I'm pretty sure the odds of me being able to take any part of that movie seriously are like 2%.:tem

See, I loved the Power Rangers movie. I loved Ivan Ooze as a villain. He was great, he was scary(for the four year old me, anyways), he was a proper villain. Ivan Ooze was also a kid's movie villain, the darkest thing he ever did was enslave a bunch of people. Having also grown up reading Age of Apocalypse in bits and pieces, I don't picture Apocalypse as a kids movie villain. While I wouldn't mind the resemblance otherwise, the contrast between the two in my head is too much.

Deadpool was flawless, in that, it really grasped his character. Ryan Reynolds did a perfect job.
