"Joreishi Rentarou no Yakusoku" One-shot by Shindou Masaoki (Golden Future Cup Entry #02) Raw.

What kinda of person puts "a long runner type of manga" that doesn't even have 25 chapters among his favorite manga? a very young person that's the answer

he also listed One Piece, Attack on Titan, BnHA, so he's a mainstream normie

anyway, SKY CLAW and Twin Peach were better than Joreishi Rentarou no Yakusoku imo

Kinnikuman usually has anywhere between 60,000~77000 on its first week. So Yuragi sale around that number is expected.

Dr Stone most likely reached 50,000 in sales

this is not great, but it could be worse
It fairly good, actually, for a serie from SQ. The author is known? There is any reason for that to sell better than the average?

He would have a lot of success in Jump if he had Inio Asano as favorite and drew dark edgy depressive mangas, sure.

he's a noob, a series should sells better than this even if they're published in SQ....if it wants to have long life

this is an below average start, needs to improve to definitely avoid the axe

let me explain my point

I love reading authors' introduction pages, specially their fav manga section, it tells me what they think is good

last week Jekyll no Tsukaima's author had a very interesting answer when he named Double Arts and March comes in like a lion

this week's guy had a boring forgettable answer combining this with the fact I didn't like his new work as much as his old work it just rubbed me the wrong way

The winners of the GFC are always serialized? Or only when they are very popular?

If you say so... SQ series rarely reaches the top 50, for me 74th is pretty reasonable.

You are judging him just because he likes popular things from Jump, for me it is the pot calling the kettle black since we are all here discussing Jump mangas and I think we discuss because we like them. His taste is not bad at all, One Piece is good, My Hero Academia is also good, Attack on Titan is successful although I don't agree about its quality. The only thing that may be out of place is Robot x Laserbeam because it would be too early to put it as favorite, but maybe he is a great fan of golf, we don't know, but RxL is also good (IMO) and is successful. If these series inspire him, he is going to good path, he can be very successful if he can follow the same path as these authors although it is easier said than done.
There is nothing wrong with his answer, his answer is more correct than the one you are praising, if you take in consideration where they are competing.
Double Arts was canceled, period. "March Comes in Like a Lion" hardly means anything to the average Jump reader, considering that it is coming from a total newbie, the readers will just ignore and will not look for it. Since the oneshots also go to the poll, he missed a chance to present something meaningful to the readers. One Piece, My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan and Robot x Laserbeam are infinitely more meaningful than Double Arts and "March Comes in Like a Lion" with all due respect.

So far they're always serialised, the only GFC winner who hasn't been to my knowledge is last year's winner and no doubt they'll get serialised soon enough whenever they/WSJ are ready for it. Non winners sometimes get serialised as well.

Although I guess the 2015 winner is sort of an exception. I think in every other case the serialisation is based on the oneshot but Poro was a completely different series to Genjui Toteku, so while the winning author did get serialised it wasn't for the oneshot he won with.

Thanks to both of you ^^ I didn't know that Hinomaru was a one-shot first, I'm thinking of starting it in a few days, with my odyssey to continue One Piece.

I will stop being mad Toteku wasn't serialized when it gets serialized (and preferably not canceled but I'll try not to be too unrealistic here).

you're reading way too much into this, I just said he gave a boring predictable answer, so I called him a pleb and mocked him for being so young as a joke, there's no wrong answers, he can like what he likes, I don't really care

speaking of Toteku even the Toteku ripoff oneshot that won GFC ripoff that Jump Plus threw is still haven't been serialized,, the artist released a new oneshot on the last Jump Giga

the curse of manga about student who's also a monsters caretaker

Impressive how people comment about thing they "don't care" around here. XD

Anyway, it must be something really depressing for a new author to compete in a rip off of GFC in Jump+. Tears of blood. XD

Medusa's author should come back. I think he is serializing a series in another small magazine, but it is not the same...

I'm serious, they released a different version of the oneshot in the main magazine earlier this year (the issue Dr.Stone started) , but still no series

Lol, everything in Jump is mainstream; it's the most popular manga magazine of all time....even the least known manga in Jump are typically better known than half of the manga in any other given magazine.

We know full well that Togashi can do whatever he wants in the magazine.

This tweet reminds me, I'm halfway through the Chimera Ant arc (it's odd as hell but good so far) but I have to ask: what's with this series when it comes to traps? Usually it's like that one trap character every series has but HxH got me too many times. When I found out Kalluto was a dude I said wtf? Neferpitou has no confirmed gender? Lol whoa..

Yes, the Uchiha lore was undoubtedly the worst crux of the series, but then I have to ask, how did he end up writing something as great as Pain arc? The only arc that topped it in any other series in my memory would be the Kamino arc in MHA. How much of Yahagi's influence was in that arc? If it was 100% Kishi, and not his new editor, then he really should've been given free reign after all.
I'm sure its a case by case basis but there is almost no "100% " xxxx"" in Jump. The relationship between the two can go from Tabata and his editor where its almost more editor driven where the editor is drawing out ideas from the mangaka and helping frame them to Oda and his editor where Oda has a treasure trove of ideas and a plot set in place and the editor is there to tell his opinions and suggest changes to parts they think are boring and need to be made more interesting and possible ways they can change it. The latter would look more like editor meddling though but in the end, its up to the mangaka to make the final call.
The Uchiha lore was definitely one of the worst parts of Naruto due to how prevalent it became but Kishimoto probably wanted for it to be as pervasive as it was. Yahagi might have helped with the structuring but all the ideas were probably from Kishimoto himself.
