I have to ask. Should we be concerned about One Piece's latest sales? I do want to see the end of One Piece and while I don't think it would be ever canceled, I'm still quite worried
One Piece will never be canceled. Even if its sales drop to KochiKame level (~40K), the series is too important for Jump to ever cancel it.

That said, it will never drop to that level. At most, I could see it dropping to ~700K by volume 120 (less than half of what it is currently). Which is still above every other manga currently in WSJ other than JJK.

Even if it came to that, One Piece isn't just a manga. It's a prolific anime, film, and video game franchise with tons of merchandise. The money isn't going to run dry any time soon.

Oda has already planned the end of the series and will write until he reaches that point, as always.

Whoa. I didn’t expect him to dethrone Mashima, the first in the 1M club. Give Horikoshi another two years, and he could very well crack the 2M threshold, the first to do so.

yeah, but i expected a better result for the 100th volume at it's first week... It seems like even vol 97/98 did better than that.wasn't Bleach canceled despite massive numbers before the decline?
No, Bleach wasn’t cancelled. And even if you think it was, Bleach was selling far less by the time it ended. One Piece can still pull in a million within a week and has done so for years. It is Jump’s flagship title. It’s not gonna be cancelled. If anything, Shueisha will try and milk the hell out of it.

print more to inflate your "circulation" numbers?!
They would have done that before volume 100, that way they would have promoted One Piece as finally reaching 500 million with the release of volume 100.

I, too, think it's weird they reprinted it, but I guess Shueisha knows more than we do.

Of course they would.

I feel like every time a new OP volume releases there's this "concern". OP's just declining (and volume 100 is actually doing better than the previous few because of the milestone, even making past volumes chart) because it's a hundred volumes long. OP still sells more than any ongoing series not named Jujutsu Kaisen, it could cut its sales in half and it would still be the second best seller of the magazine. That's before we start talking about how important the series is for Jump, they wouldn't just cancel it even if the sales became mediocre (and they won't anytime soon).

I just find it funny that people are being concerned over a manga that have been going for more than 2 decades that manages to easily sell more than 1 million copy per volume when 99% of manga cant even do that, if anything the chances of JJK doing less than 1 million per volume is higher than OP.

Since no one posted, the Witch Watch color page:

--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Ads for Yozakura in the windows of Shueisha HQ, first time this has happened for the series I think.

It's a exhibit in Jimbocho, 3rd picture is Gondaira signing it, glad to see finally something bigger for the series, Gondaira must be really happy.
--- Double Post Merged, ---

Monthly Shoseki Top 500 (August)

1. My Hero Academia #31
2. Dr. Stone #22
31. Mashle #7 (171,775)
48. The Elusive Samurai #2 (91,450)
58. Blue Box #1 (74,800)
62. Ayakashi Triangle #5 (71,200)
500. Magu-chan: God of Destruction #5 (10,600)
--- Double Post Merged, ---

For anyone interested, the monthly numbers for all 5 Ayakashi Triangle and Magu-chan volumes:

Ayakashi Triangle #1 (78,090)
Ayakashi Triangle #2 (67,231)
Ayakashi Triangle #3 (61,534)
Ayakashi Triangle #4 (68,160)
Ayakashi Triangle #5 (71,200)

Magu-chan: God of Destruction #1 (12,375)
Magu-chan: God of Destruction #2 (Didn't Charted)
Magu-chan: God of Destruction #3 (Didn't Charted)
Magu-chan: God of Destruction #4 (10,386)
Magu-chan: God of Destruction #5 (10,600)

Despite not exactly growing in sales, at least both series have a loyal fanbase so far, and a bit of context, the months for Magu-chan #2 and #3 had a higher cut (13k and 12k), this is why they didn't charted.

Well, Ayakashi hasn't declined yet which is good. Still feels like it probably won't last that much longer though, the way it's paced itself so far would mean they'd have to really extend the plot to make it past it's second anniversary I think.

Yabuki can stop the "plot" at anytime and make full ecchi/SoL chapters for a while, which i doubt any fan of the series would dislike, i also can't see Ayakashi not getting a anime adaptation, being under two years feels way too short, but i don't think will be long too.

It's actually going to be really hard to axe any of the current roster if we keep having flops like RH and Neru.

I'm actually of the mind that WSJ is struggling to find good talent right now. We had a record-breaking 18 new series debut last year, and a huge number of those were veterans. Now we're having much longer stretches between much smaller batches.
I basically do not think they have many new series ready to go. That's why it seems like they're satisfied holding onto comfortable successes like HSF and Magu. They don't want to cut AyaTri, M&R, and Magu just to replace them with ITC, KBP, and CF.
I imagine they expected a lot more from HBC&D and BK. We probably won't have any huge batches for a while, until they can find series they are really confident in (like BB).

In any case, this got me thinking, so here's more-or-less when I think all of the current roster is going to end:
  • One Piece- ~Mid 2026 - ~120 Volumes
  • My Hero Academia- ~Early 2023 - ~40 Volumes
  • JJK- ~Early 2023 - ~24 Volumes
  • Black Clover- ~Late 2024 -~45 Volumes
  • Dr.STONE- ~Late 2022 - ~28 Volumes
  • Mission: Yozakura Family - ~Mid 2024 - ~24 Volumes
  • Undead Unluck - ~Mid 2022 - ~15 Volumes
  • MASHLE - ~Late 2023 - ~20 Volumes
  • AyaTri - ~Mid 2023 - ~14 Volumes
  • Magu-chan - ~Early 2022 - 8 Volumes
  • HSF - ~Mid 2022 - ~5 Volumes
  • SD, TES, WW, BB - No idea (20+ Volumes?)
  • RH, Neru, PP - As Soon As Possible (rip PP, I'm sure I'll fall in love with you, too)

My bet on when series will end :

One Piece - Middle-end of 2027 hitting it with the 30 year celebration and 1200-1250 chapters.
My Hero Academia - 42 volumes, just to end at the same length as DB at the end of 2023 or beginning of 2024.
JJK - 25 Volumes ending in 2 years from now.
Black Clover - 45 Volumes, ending late 2024
Dr. Stone - 30 Volumes ending on the 6 years celebration for the manga or a few weeks after
Mashle - 20 Volumes - The length of AssClass
Undead Unluck - The same

20 volumes feels a bit too much for Mashle considering the author stated to be already half done with 7 volumes.

It's just a hunch that one major arc will become longer than what the author expects it to be and that it might happen after we will get an anime announcement in Jump Festa or a bit after. a much more logical end point would be chapter 145~ like the length of Psyren.

When you look at this you realise OP might not even be in top 5...

For me there will certainly be given the latest results.

Surely HQ and Neverland will be out.
