Summary and Preview
After learning all she can at a special wine education program, Kana is happy to return to the farm she was raised on and help out the woman who raised her and the twenty orphans she now cares for. Working hard one day on the new batch of grapes used for wine, a man in an expensive suit with a briefcase comes to the farm and tells her that the loan on the farm is due and she won't receive an extension from her creditor, Mr. John Smith, unless she goes to work at a restaurant in Tokyo.
Before she can even think about accepting this offer, she must correctly identify a wine in a blind tasting at dinner with the lawyer, Yusuke Katori, a pessimistic man who hates wine, but respects its value. He even sent his own father home after receiving a foul-smelling wine as a birthday present. However, Kana teaches him something about wine when she explains why his father had the right idea after all - but, as Yusuke asks her, can she go against her fate?
This is the story of how Kana improves people's lives with good wine as she works to help the orphans. [polm23]
