Summary and Preview

Early one New Year's morning, the ronin Senou Souichirou appears at the Katagi tenements in Edo. He is a suspicious figure; Kankichi, the carpenter's son, thinks he may not be human. But it is not long before he has put his sword in pawn and settled into the active life of the community. All is well for a time. Only troubles will not leave the Katagi tenements alone ...
