Summary and Preview
A civil war divided the country in North and South for a long period of time. Outnumbered, the North used forbidden arts to create strange-looking soldiers. In exchange for their human appearance, they gained power equal to a god. With that power, they ended the war and ushered the country into peace, but those godly powers are far too great for a human to bear. The people came to fear their power for it corrupts the hearts. After the Civil War ended, those who were once called heroes are now treated as mere "beasts".
As Char's father, a former pseudo-god soldier gets murdered, she sets out to find the culprit.
