Re: Claymore Hang-out Thread

It seems like you have gotten a good deal. :^_^ Hmm.. do you mind telling us about the stuff inside? What is in the book, and what about the CD and game? Are they nice and fun?
I finally received the Claymore artbook I ordered. It is pretty cool.

This page was interesting. There is a transparent red page on top of the picture of Clare.

Totally worth the money I spent on it. I have seen most of the pictures before, but it is still great having an actual physical copy of them. The book is around 127 pages and contains many of the volume covers, and the monochrome pictures that are in the Japanese versions. The book, CD, and DS game were all in great condition. The book looked brand new.

I have listened to the CD and I do like it. Each voice actor does a different song. There are 10 songs in all, one for Clare, Priscilla, Galatea, Deneve, Ophelia, Irene, Sophia, Teresa, Helen, and Miria. I haven't had a chance to play the DS game yet. I don't even remember were my DS is.

Re: Claymore Hang-out Thread

Utsune-chaaan ^_^ Could you clarify a little what's going on with the sentence "Therefore, I try to introduce characters in the storyboard first and if they moved, then I'll use them as they are or something. It's highly unlikely to give them a personality beforehand." I'm confused about what's going on here: is he saying that he only creates world around characters? If so, then why is he suddenly talking about when he gives them personality?
Haha I had problem with putting that sentence into English. The storyboard (they call it "name/ネーム" in Japanese) is basically the draft with all the panels planned out, how the chapter would be presented (btw found this example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsgnBKv-j58 He mentions the anime/manga called Bakuman. It's an interesting series where it introduces the general procedure a mangaka has to go through when they create/publish/serialise a manga. Worth a look.)

"If they moved..." as in, if the characters come to life, then he'll use them in the state they're in/as they are. He does this before he gives a specific personality to the character he introduces.

That's what it says, hope I'm not mistaken. I think what it means is that he prioritises in creating characteristics for the character before cooking up a personality for them. These characteristics/traits generate some sort of aura to the character and should this aura blend nicely into the story/world, he would then go ahead and further develop the characters, building from the way he imagines them in his draft.

I always consider the Memorabilia as the ultimate Claymore collector's item... Yagi's art in Claymore (esp the covers) is one of the main things that attracts me to the series, not to mention his drawing style is a perfect fit for the world he's created. If I haven't whined enough already when TStew posted his pic of the book, I'm deathly jelly of you :p

I suppose the game is the one Bayuga mentioned in the translation thread? It looks likes a spin-off to me. I wonder how much input Yagi had had in this.

You should keep your eyes open for a good deal. I had an ebay tab up on my computer for a few weeks constantly refreshing it to see new results for the book. The one I bought was really cheap. I was a little worried about the condition of the book considering how cheap it was, but it is just like new. The book feels like it was never even opened. I was ready to spend up to $70 for a copy but I ended but finding a super cheap one instead.

^^^ This. And please let it be Mad house Animations. Their work on Hunter x Hunter and Parasyte is great. And it'd be a no censor version too, so no random color negatives when things get bloody or streaks of black bars to cover up the carnage like in Tokyo ghoul.

Re: Claymore Hang-out Thread

Well, guys. This is probably where I should say goodbye. For the next six months my free time and access to the internet will be very limited and unless they make a new anime in the meantime I don't think this community will be waiting for me until I return. So as a goodbye gift I'm gonna leave a link to the collection of my favorite Claymore fanart I have found on deviantart. You will find it in the image thread.

Re: Claymore Hang-out Thread

I don't know if it had been posted here, but :

It will be a remake, and will release in Spring 2015. But I cannot confirm it yet, seem suspicious for me

Re: Claymore Hang-out Thread

Well at least I only had my hopes up for about 20 seconds! But that was still bad! lol.

Hey a few things I've been wondering during my searches for various memorabilia. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CLAYMORE-Gi...522?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27e90409ca

I've seen a few of these 'Gin No Dansho x/20 Issue Magazine' They all appear to have Claymore on the cover. I assume all in Japanese. Was this something exclusively Claymore? Anyone know what's in em? They are rather pricey.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong,...

I think this is the original series that published the Claymore Databook, as well as various bits of Claymore stuff. I found the 3rd issue on Amazon and it says it has cover arts as well as a super long poster and end-of-volume 4-koma (titled: "Clare-san")

Re: Claymore Hang-out Thread

Thanks Utsune. Does that mean the entire magazine is of Claymore? Or is there other stuff in there too. It sounds very interesting, wish I could get a complete set but just the few I've seen on ebay add up to quite a lot when shipping is factored in.

There are three in total. The wiki page should have a description for what they include: overview, issue 1, issue 2, issue 3.

(The dimensions are an inch or two under A4 size, with 500-750 pages probably due to the compilation of the chapters so it's pretty damn big.)

Yeah it does look pretty expensive, and you would want to be careful since there's a chance the goodies (specifically the posters) won't be included. The description for issue 1 on Amazon says there's also originally a special QUO card included (a type of prepaid card used in Japan.)

Re: Claymore Hang-out Thread

Sadly Claymore isn't popular enough to have followup movies. Though we'd probably end up aurguing about the cannonicity of them.

Sadly you may be correct. Its a shame I see anime that are really poor when they could do something great with Claymore. I still have hope that maybe someday when they are running out of good material they may come back and do Claymore over.
