They still assumed Aiden's gender identity which is disappointing. A lack of information does not justify that, CNN needs to fire some people and hire people who don't speak with gendered language.

The tweet is suggesting that misgendering the shooter is somehow an intentional thing to undermine them. There's no indication that this person is trans themselves or even an advocate. "Your rage is funny" in the bio, probably a troll.

Im pretty sure it's not a troll. I think the tweet is simply suggesting CNN made a mistake, which I think so too. CNN, one of the greatest, if not greatest news network claims they support the LGBTQ community but then goes and assumes the gender identity of Aiden, which is crazy because there should be people proofreading the articles and it still got through .
I've read some comments all over social media from supposed lgbtq supporters and even people with pronouns in their bio who intentionally misgendered Aiden. Aiden is still a human being like us and he has a gender identity that should be respected no matter what he has done.

Yeah... misgendering is bad, but it's kind of a side point. We have no reason to assume the motivations of the police chief. He could have just been like 90 percent of all the other old people in America and didn't know how offensive it would seem, or even the correct way to avoid seeming transphobic. So I didn't harp on it.

It's bad, but it's best not to assume maliciousness when ignorance can explain it.

Also... David Pakman is getting raked over the coals for his tweet.

I feel like the charges presented here are way too serious for it to be that easy. Not only the charges are serious but the evidence seems pretty damning. There's no guarantee of course but consider what we already know. First of all, there's all the michael cohen stuff. He pretty much said everything during the hearing several years back. Since then he presumably cooperated on every investigation against trump. Which leads first to the stormy daniels stuff. Um, zero people believe trump didn't sleep with her. Unless cohen lied to congress he presented copies of the check. And there's an NDA... Not only that but cohen went to jail over this stuff. And it's literally impossible for cohen to be guilty of this while trump isn't. Next there's all the stuff which cohen said about the trump organization. Cohen was trump's personal lawyer, he must necessarily know everything trump and his organization were up to and he already said pretty damning stuff during his hearing. It wasn't that long ago that people from the trump organization were found guilty of tax fraud. I don't disagree in that there's a good chance that nothing happens... But there's already people who have been found guilty of stuff that trump can't possibly not have committed himself.

I'd argue it's both, and it's fine.

It could be in bad taste, which I don't disagree with too much... but he told the truth, and he told it to the people that needed to hear it.

EDIT: As for preventing trans folk from having access to guns, I'm pretty sure the NRA fought against having the CDC do tests on the minds of violent gunmen to see if there was a mental predisposition that leads to mass shootings.

Also, FB is banned in a bunch of countries, including China. So there is a clearly recognized mutual threat. Though, China's reasoning is probably more in line with limiting access to dissenting opinions.
