Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

Boy u should pa ymore attencion on what u are reading, yes "offensive tupes can never fully regenerate themselves" thats correct they can grown back arms whoever those new arms will be as strong as a normal human arm with means it is senseless and useless for a claymore since they will lose their streght speed and fast regenerating abilitys. If a claymore just plan on living a normal life lke irena that wouldnt be an issue whoever for someone that wanna keep fighting a normal arm would decrease her fighting skills alot. Now about that awakening thing... it was never really stated what goes on claire only said that usually after a long time using yoki they lose control, can take a short or a long time to happen... thats pretty vague so it is not like as if it was stated that every claymore will lose control at some point.
Well, what it says (in my translation) is "Regeneration is impossible" then "A high level offensive warrior, even if she puts a lot of time into it, will at best get an arm no stronger than a humans, " That sounds a bit contradictory, but the overall impression suggests I'm wrong. However, I stand by the point that mangas tend to contradict themselves over time. The claymore who Clare "mercy-kills" lost control around 8 years before where we are currently in the manga, which is quite a long period of time. Saying that using Yoki causes a loss of control pretty much guarantees that all Claymore will lose control eventually, as almost all Claymore use a lot of Yoki (Teresa being the exception). Clare especially did in the past, and she lost control. She doesnt seem to use much, if any, Yoki right now, which may be slowing down the process. However, judging by the power of what they are harnessing, and the effects seen in the awakening of various claymores, I think we can put that together with various hints throughout to deduce that keeping control is a fine balance. The way in which the seven outcasts, especially Yuma the weak one, have kept this balance so perfectly seems to contradict what the manga heavily implies.
Again, this is nothing against the manga. You can do something like this with any manga, as it is very hard to construct a flawless plot, especially on a tight schedule. There are bound to be contradictions; claymore is pretty good in this respect in general. I'm not saying that this is bad, it's just an observation.

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

apparently half-awakened ones have a different level of control, and have gained a much higher level of that experience than most claymores.

I think it's still logical to say that they will lose control eventually, even if the 7 ghosts are displaying perfect control, because they have half-awakened and pulled themselves back, opening themselves to new possibilities that perhaps shouldn't have been open to them, either hidden by the organization or merely undiscovered. Like I said before, this false information may have been instigated by the organization as a means to control the claymore through fear.

We have seen that the 7 ghosts, and probably Teresa and a few others, who have learned to control their yoki more than expected, and they're deadly. This shows that a claymore is indeed capable of controlling herself. But if they were raised to believe they can't, they'll be inhibited by that and the fear alone will stop them from achieving more power, which is what the organization needs to keep them from doing what they want.

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

BTW: I have a question. How is it that Miata can sense their Yoki? Haven'T the 7G trained to hide their yoki (fight without yoki)?
Miata's ability to sense fighting power is based on the raw physical skills of a claymore, not a yoki sensing ability such as Galatea's, thus, she is able to tell that Clare and Miria are strong even when they are using techniques that do not rely on yoki bursts

Even if they've trained to hide their youki, they have to unleash it to fight (if they're using techniques that require youki usage).
That is incorrect, Clare switched from quick sword to wind cutter, but lost power in favor of accuracy and yoki suppression, while Miria stopped using her phantom images technique and developed a more consistent, albeit slower, after image technique that does not require yoki. My guess is that in dire situations she will resort back to yoki bursts to achieve maximum speed.

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

A question:
The first time Clare and Riful met, when she was talking about Pricilia she said that one girl didn't get reflected in Pricilia's eyes, but it doesn't make sense since she had no way to know about that, so could it be a translating mistake, and Pricilia can't see any young girl?

thanks ahead:)

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

The way i understand it, it's not that Pricilla can't see them it's more like she just doesn't notice them. According to Riful back in chapter 45 she slaughters whole towns without mercy but she never lays a finger on any young girls. I can't even imagine what the reason for this is.

It is a reference at what happened when the awakened Priscilla after killing Teresa simply ignored Clare and went away. You can see the manga page here.

To answer your question, yes, it probably is a translation mistake, and in place of 'one' it should read 'any', or 'not one (of the young girls were refl...)'. Otherwise it doesn't make sense, as you said...

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

Jump SQ is normally released on the... fourth day of the month, if I'm not mistaken? Anyway, only a matter of days.

The magazine Jump SQ is released fourth of every month, yes.
However, unfortunately, it looks like Claymore will not be on the next issue of SQ.

Why is that? Could you tell us the source of that info?

Or don't tell me this is an early April fool! :\

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

Claymore will appear in the next Jump SQ issue as usual. If you need proof simply look back at past claymore translation by shrimpy to see that they are labeled a month ahead.

The date that was brought up is the periodical cover date and doesn't always refer to the actual date that the magazine is published. The cover date format can vary from one publication to the next, and can also vary by country. In the case of Jump SQ, the cover date is a month later then when the magazine is actually published.

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

You all scared me for a min.. Yes, it's as trickster wrote. Every month we get someone to confuse us in this regard.

Once I get my hands on any spoilers, I will be sure to post it here. This chapter should be an important one :D

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

So, does anybody have any predictions as for whats going to happen with Miata and Clarice next chapter? I'm hoping for them to go along with the warriors from the north. I like those two.
