Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

I was reading the latest chapter[78] and o.o...i'm kinda scared of what Clared had done with the group. Of course she and Miria are far stronger but remember, there are still 3 weaklings and they are strong enought as those single digits of the organization now O_O....

I'm just like =O

I wanna GAlatea to join the group seriously, altough Galatea seems to be weak compared to the seven ghosts

I'll tell you a secret, the more popular magazine raws are almost always out a few days before the magazine actually goes on sale in Japan. For example, you know that we got the Shounen Jump raws usually on thursday-friday-saturday for the past few years? Well, those magazines actually go on sale on the monday after that (in Japan, that is). So be happy, and don't question the source too much, heh heh heh~ :amuse

In the case of claymore, there used to be raws popping up on share and winny a few days before the release, from people who got early copies and scanned 'em in.

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

Waahh Ch. 78 was so AWESOME. :D I'm loving the seven ghost crew, and that girl, I forgot her name already, can read as well as "God-Eye" Galatea practically.

I hate being addicted to this manga....T.T I'm dying to read more, but monthly releases? URGH!!

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

Yep I agree, this chapter is great and it surprised me a lot because I thought that they're at least going to fight till the next 1~2 chapters. But no, the seven northern warriors defeated Agatha so quick! *astonished* Clare has become qutie strong, I wonder if she's th e 'second really strong person' Miata'd talked about?

@Khaludh: Ah I see, ok I won't question the source anymore xD i'm already a happy fan :amuse

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

I think Clare's one of the two. No doubt. From the start that has to be her destiny.

and I thought Agatha had stuff to say about the org. :notrust well, then my speculation about that is thrown out the window. Because I thought that would be a reason to extend the fight. But well, clearly there's no reason if she doesn't know anything.

Then finally it's time Galatea reveal the reason why she scratched her eyes out. It wasn't shown before, was it?

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

I certainly wasn't expecting the 7 to be quite that badass. Clare and Mira were about how i expected, but the rest seem to be alot further up there on the scale of deadliness than i thought they would be.

It's going to be fun seeing what Miata and Clarice will do next and get an explanation of how Galatea lost her eyes. I kinda doubt she did it to herself, considering that she seems to be the vainest of the claymores, but who knows.

Man, it's going to be a long month.:darn

She ran out of those pills that change eye colour. That's the most probable explanation. Its been 7 years.

No it is not, if she wanted to pass by a blind person she could just keep her eyes closed at all times like it was mentioned by Clarice at first when she was asking the guards for information.Taking of her own eyes would be a huge disavantage im pretty sure she lost her eyes on a fight like Miria said i could bet it was when she decided to leave the organization and another claymore hunted her down.

04
right: SUMMARY
Under orders to slay the former number 3 soldier (Galatea), Number 4 (Miata) and the lowest ranked soldier (Clarice) infiltrate the holy city of Labona. Soon after, they assault Galatea, who took her own sight. But in the midst of their battle, Miata's released Youriki awakens something sinister that was lurking in the shadows...
(t/n - there's the answer. last chapter had an unclear object, but now we know)
According to shrimpy's translation of chapter 75 she took her own eyesight.

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

Since Galatea is a defensive type, I'm sure she could have easily regenerate her eyes if she wanted to. Its kinna similar to how Rafelea didn't regenerate her one damaged eye because she was trying not to use her yoki. Maybe that's the reason as to why Galatea didnt regenerate her eyes as well - by trying to hide her yoki, she might have actually limited her regenerating abilities. Of course, what i want to know now is that whether she can actually still regenerate her eyes after the wound has healed o.o (like just cut open the wound again and regenerate her eyes xD)

and once again, someone mentioned the two strongers in the fab 7!! i would say Miria and Clare but there's just so many possibilities.. its like the mangaka is just toying with us o.o

Dunno about that translation but at least the chapter i got form mangatraders Galatea never said she took her own eyes, she said something like "after i lost my eyes i could sense yoki as never before".She didnt had to lose her eyes just to hide, as i said she could just keep her eyes closed at all times.

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

He is right It seems Yagi really said it. I can confirm it with an other translation too. (You habe to look on Chapter 75 Page 4 Summary)
BTW: I have a question. How is it that Miata can sense their Yoki? Haven'T the 7G trained to hide their yoki (fight without yoki)?

And at last, did you recognized that Galatea was drawn without the scar on her face?
Can it be, that its because of the long realese frequency that he forgot that she had a scar ^^.

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

Well, i guess that proves it. Galatea blinded herself, unless the author wasn't paying attention when he wrote that summary which seems highly unlikely to say the least. Good catch trickster, i didn't see that summary at all.:p

As for the Miata yoki detection. The organization guy gave an explanation back in chapter 73 that Miata has her natural senses sharpened to such a degree that they form a sixth sense. A kind of hunting instinct it seems. In most of the translations she doesn't talk about people's yoki, just that they smell like they're very strong.

Even if they've trained to hide their youki, they have to unleash it to fight (if they're using techniques that require youki usage).

Remember that Rafaela suddenly sensed Irene's youki as well, when she tought Clare her technique, whereas up to that point she was unable to locate.

And since the Ghosts are in battle mode right now, there's no real point to hiding their youki anyway. (Remember, Clare has long since given up on fighting without youki, after she learned to sense her opponent's energy flow even while she herself was using hers. She doesn't need to be in 'hidden' mode anymore when fighting).

I don't think they are using yoki right now. The point of Clare mastering the "wind cutter" and Mira mastering her "new phantom" is that both those moves can be used while suppressing their yoki. Also if the 7 were using yoki to fight then Galatea wouldn't have had to identify them by their voices, she can identify people by their yoki.

Hmm? Isn't the Wind Cutter an attack relying on youki? I thought the whole point was to release youma energy with only your arm so that it'd go berserk, and then train to steer that power so that you can control it?

And Miria's original phantom ability was based on her releasing short but intense bursts of youki to enhance her speed briefly, or am I mistaking things here? Has it been stated that those attacks can be used while their youki is repressed?

Re: Claymore by Yagi Norihiro

Yeah, it was said in the chapter where Miria asked Clare to fight her (after the timeskip). Both techniques don't aquire youki, and that was the reason why Miria and Clare changed their fighting style after all
