I watched an episode of Doctor Who (Turn Left from Series 4) and there was a Time Beetle that created an alternate world based on a decision. The way Donna defeated the bug and the alternate timeline was very similar to Future Lucy in GMG. Wonder if it was an inspiration or coincidence

A future self dying to protect their present self is kind of a stock time travel plot, usually because someone from the future is going to disappear anyway if they're looking to change their own future (assuming the new timeline overwrites the old one). I'm surprised you DIDN'T know about it until now.

These are even darker days for the FT thread! Jeez, as an epic sub-genre, this is Mainly a co-me-dy, ofc it would never happen! Are you asking for real life pigs to fly as well?

For goodness' sake, I came back to the FT corner, hoping to find jokes and giggles and people already used to the FT blend of genres which will never include the death of the mains and supporting mains! I find the emo! era reloaded. C'mon, guys, this is a shounen comedy, there's plenty of highly dramatic, tragic, horror-packed shounen or seinen or josei series out there! Even shoujo, if I'm not mistaken. I want this to be a better FT, not a JoJo whatever(not my cup of tea), not AoT(same), not Naruto, not anything else. Gory deaths of the mains don't make for better storytelling or action, just make for shock-value violence! I don't need that in FT, I want it to be rid of it, in fact!
Also, I'd really like confirmation that it was "Wendy" and not MS who mistook the fins/tail for legs. They have a history in mistranslations, the mind-blowing and argument-inducing kind!

The target age-group isn't an excuse, but the genres and sub-genres it pertains to are a reason for it to not be as you expect it!

There are many dark shounens who are published in magazines where FT was published or similar manga were published.

And I said they belonged to different literary genres, how many times must I point out the difference between the importance of demographic and the importance of the genres and writing styles and the tone the author establishes for their work?! Some of those you`re thinking of are breaching the line between shounen and seinen, others are "mature" or "horror", or at the very least "thriller" or whatever other literary sub-genre FT never even actually tried be. Most of us knew it was going to have a fairytale-ish ending, and were disappointed in how it was delivered. Pace, choice of skills and combatants, that thing.
Even Naruto forewent dozens of expected deaths of merely supporting characters, they killed off only 3 supporting characters, and often-times they treated their war with more sobriety than FT did Alvarez. It's been a year since the main story ended and you guys are still not over the fact that FT stayed and continues to stay true to its "adventure" and "comedy" main tags.

In fact people thought more about gildatz XD, to make reference with the chapter or destroyed Kardia cathedral against August.

Since the cathedral Kardia = Notre Dame.

From what I know now, there will be stained glass that will have been destroyed, but most of the works in the cathedral will have been saved.
