Well the 100s years quest was referred to as sequel spin off

Personally I never considered the 100 years quest as a continuation of og fairy tail but rather simply a fanservice manga
I mean the existence of DG and other dragon as well as DE is simply a plot hole, I mean how can Acnologia never sensed them despite flying around across the globe🤔🙄

I think at some point it was said that Ueda was the one who was going to take over the series (that's why the series would be a Spin-off) but Mashima did not allow it. (Looking at the later story arcs, I think Ueda would have had more coherence in the narrative than Mashima.)

I hope the board rethinks the idea of putting Ueda as the boss, it's not too late to write something decent for FTYQ100

or at least, make Ueda boss for the sequel (Next Generation):lambirb

No it was Ueda who want Hiro to be involved with the series no matter what despite Hiro being done with fairy tail at that time

My mistake. Even so, I think that Mashima should have rejected the idea, he better than anyone, he knew that he never knew how to direct FT well. What made him think that in a sequel he would do better?

Judging by Afterword, this is Uedas first Fantasy, So May be he (Mashima) didn't want to leave a guy in a tight spot.

Probably, but Mashima with enough experience doesn't know how to write well. I think he would have been better Ueda, at least the excuse would be that he has no experience writing fantasy and surely being the first work he would have many ideas and not like mashima, adding 5(7) dragons, destroying Acnologia's background

It's not that he never knew to direct well, but I believe it's more likely he stopped caring for FT after a while and still doesn't. Look at Rave Master and other arcs of FT such as Tartaros, Tenrou Island, Tower Of Heaven etc. They were all enjoyable and had a certain charm to it.
