This thread may raise huge debate due to Acnologia.Who do you think wins?I am going with God Serena
Intel:Full
Serena can use 4 Lacrimas
Situation 1:Serena in base state
Situation 2:Serena uses Dragon Slaying Magic
This part was suggested by
Orgastthemage
Note: take into account the possibility of Serena combining all eight(8) elements into one
Mode(how strong would he be?), and take into consideration how easily Gildarts finished off Historia Serena(albeit using a named move). Still impressive though when compared to the likes of Minerva and Rogue's performances(I take Serena's historia as the strongest of them).

For scenario 1 I'll go with God Serena mid-diff, he still stomped without Dragon Slaying magic.

For scenario 2 I'll go with God Serena low-diff, going by logic he would stomp the GoI easily with logic and I don't see Tartaros Gildarts being superior to Hyberion, let alone the 3 GoI + Jura.

Had this been HypeDarts (The version I'm expecting when he returns) I'd have given him scenario 1 in a mid-diff fight and scenario 2 would be high-extreme diff.

Unless Gildarts has trained and shows better feats if he returns, I'm not giving him a chance against God Serena.

S1 : GS mid high diffs

S2: GS low diffs.

From what we've seen, in both scenarios I can see no other result than God Serena winning. He's a Spriggan, and from what we've seen Gildarts simply isn't at that level, so given that I'd say Serena would win scenario one mid-diff, and scenario two he'd have a bit of an easier time but it could still be mid-diff imo.

Gildarts better comeback & give this guy a humiliating beat down.:) Strongest of the West vs GOI former King.

Until then, Serena wins.

Assumption: Gildarts's MP is at least on mid-tier Spriggan-level. Until proven otherwise, I'll continue to believe that Gildarts is an OP character who is able to match Spriggan-level opponents.

Against majority opinions, I'm gonna go with Gildarts on this due to the tactical nature of his magic. While God Serena boasts 8 elements on his part, I have no reason to doubt that these attacks cannot be deflected/split asunder with either Crash or Disassebly magic if extra-terrestrial ones like "Blackhole" can be.

Should just wait for Gildarts to come back before making a thread for him vs a Spriggan. We shouldn't have to wait much longer surely.

Anyways God Serena wins with whatever difficulty it would take to defeat Hyberion. The difficulty for defeating the GoI/Jura together was at most mid diff, so Gildarts alone will be even easier.

In these scenarios, I'm actually more interested in Glidartz's state rather than God Serena's.

Known Glidartz (Tartaros Glidartz) should lose all scenarios. A Glidartz that comes back this arc with a progression similar to Laxus' may be another story. Notice the may. If Glidartz is equal or slightly stronger to current Laxus by the time he comes back, he ain't defeating God Serena (IF God Serena happens to be as powerful as he's believed to be for easily defeating the GoI).

So, as you can see, it's all speculation: God Serena's strength is hard to compare, as he defeated 4 opponents whose strength is speculated to be high, but has been severely downplayed by others to levels below current Erza; whereas current Glidartz is utter speculation.

I'm going to lean on God Serena all scenarios. We'll soon see God Serena's true potential and we'll finally be able to tell whether the GoI were strong or weak; as for Glidartz, he's bound to eventually come back and show what he's worth.

I'm honestly expecting God Serena to be the third or fourth strongest Spriggan without hax, he wouldn't have been made a Spriggan had there not been something to compensate for his lack of hax, so I guessing he's quite strong. I could actually see Goddy vs Gildarts happening, people have always called Gildarts the strongest in the West so it's time he should prove it.

For the battle itself I've changed my mind on difficulty, I think he could take the no magic round with low diff, Hyberion, Wolfheim and Warrod were all using their magic in their first battle but Goddy still beat them flawlessly, I don't see Tartoros Gildarts being better than Hyberion, let alone all three GoI + Jura.

Well now that it's a canon fight, with an improved Gildarts, I'd say Gildy will win it. Only 1 feat atm so all I'm doing right now is predicting based on opinion.

Gildarts stopped Serena's Gale Dragons roar. It feels similar to when Laxus stopped Ajeel's Sands of Death. Sands of Death and GD roar are the spells said Spriggan's use when they're displaying a decent amount of power (not a trump card or finisher); so I consider it better than stopping say Ajeel's sand golem or Ant's Hell.

Not much to work with, but if Gildarts ~ Laxus, then he should win around the mid-high diff mark. But Serena has potential to be better than he was against the GoI, so he might push Gildarts to a solid high diff. (I don't expect Gildarts to lose to a Historia, in fact it could be over with low diff given how irrelevant they are)

Laxus would beat God Serena. Laxus one shotted one of his peers who is on God Serena's level. Tenrou Gildarts gets stomped but after the end of last chapter I'm leaning towards Current Gildarts low-dif, I expect him to be in the Laxus and Jellal ballpark.

I doubt it. He beat Wahl while disadvantaged so I can see why you say so.

No, they are not. Hype does not treat all characters the same way. You may remember that Spriggans were all stated to be on the same level. But not much later, August was hyped to be waaaay stronger. Then, Irene was hyped to be August's female equal. Then, Larcade was hyped to have a very rare/dangerous magic which could even defeat Acnologia. That's enough to destroy the "equality" argument: Not all spriggans are as powerful.

God Serena is clearly superior when he subjugated 3GoI+Jura (and they were treated like fodder precisely because God Serena was supposed to be at the same level of Ajeel or Wahl, when he was not). Now that we saw God Serena's performance against the main cast we can safely assume two things: That God Serena is superior to the likes of Ajeel or Wahl, and that the GoI+Jura are not fodder.

Tenrou Gildarts gets stomped but after the end of last chapter I'm leaning towards Current Gildarts low-dif, I expect him to be in the Laxus and Jellal ballpark.
Tenrou Glidartz gets stomped against any Spriggan. Current Glidartz would likely low-diff Wahl (he is a machine, a mountain busting punch should just disassemble him like Laxus did), he'd low-mid diff Ajeel (his sand world is tricky but crash should just disperse all the sand) and he 'should' theoretically extreme diff God Serena, or it could go either way.

They are equal and everyone bar Irene and August has been put on the same level. August much later wasn't stated to be wayy stronger, Makarov literally treats every Spirggan he knew on the same level bar August. Irene was hyped later on because she wasn't one of the six Spirggans Makarov knew about, Lacarde himself isn't much stronger than his peers is was specifically pointed out that the nature of his MP was different not that he has way more than his peers, while his move set could be the reason he beats ACno not because he's way stronger. All Spirggans bar August and Irene are not the same level, you just need to get off Serena's nuts.

Beating the 3 GoI+Jura means nothing when we don't know how strong they were in the first place. His performance against the main cast? They literally stood in both of his move completely unaffected, his performance wasn't impressive.

Baseless.

Well after seeing Gildarts come back, now looking like Jesus, I get the feeling that Serena's going to be saying God Bye-Bye to the after life. If Serena wins then I will be completely shocked.

I know I'm a God Serena-tard but that doesn't mean that I don't judge all characters equally. When I say God Serena wouldn't be defeated by Laxus is because I operate under the assumption that God Serena is superior to Ajeel or Wahl.

Is it a baseless assumption? It is not. All spriggan were said to be on the same level as all S-class mages were said to be on the same level. Then it turns out Laxus and Mystgun were much more powerful than Erza and Mira, and that Glidartz was above everyone.

So we shouldn't just stick to the same old portrayal. It is rather clear not all the spriggans are as powerful. They may have similar amounts of MP, but MP is not everything. Neinhart has enough MP to summon 3 Spriggan-level characters and his durability is shitty, so one thing makes up for the other (extreme MP (maybe superior to other spriggan's) + shitty durability = spriggan level character).

I believe Laxus wouldn't be capable of beating Serena as much as I think he wouldn't be capable of beating Dimaria. And if according to you, all spriggans bar August/Irene are on the same level, then you must agree that Laxus could solo all of them bar August/Irene, am I right?

They are equal and everyone bar Irene and August has been put on the same level. August much later wasn't stated to be wayy stronger, Makarov literally treats every Spirggan he knew on the same level bar August. You may stick to the same old portrayal if you want and I'm gonna respect your opinion (operating under the assumption that all spriggans bar August/Irene are equals). Now I think I've got my reasons to think otherwise and you cannot deny it. The performance of different spriggans has proved that they rank differently. Their hax and powers also proves they could beat enemies that others simply couldn't.

If God Serena happens to posess the lightning element, it'll be the same case scenario as against Wahl: God Serena will not be affected by him. We don't know God Serena's CQC abilities but we do know he tanked a Wolfheim punch and he was harmless. If you ask me Wolfheim's punch should be > Laxus magicless punch.

Beating the 3 GoI+Jura means nothing when we don't know how strong they were in the first place. His performance against the main cast? They literally stood in both of his move completely unaffected, his performance wasn't impressive.
By that same token, if we don't know how strong they were to begin with, how can you claim 'it means nothing' to have fodderized them? You could at least say "we don't know if defeating the 3GoI+Jura is nothing or actually means something".

Baseless.
Why? Glidartz > Laxus, Laxus high diffed Wahl but he was at a disadvantage, normally he'd easy-mid diff him, so Glidartz easy diffs him. Around the same for Ajeel.

I'm expecting Gildarts to fodderstomp Serena now that they're matched or I'd be severely disappointed tbh. A jack of all trades only type like him is not as imposing as masters obviously proficient with their own style -- I'm hoping Gildarts finally achieved this master status if he's presumably going to die soon -- & Serena had done nothing to warrant him above any of his peers.

I don't want Serena to be a jack-of-all-trades, would it really be believable that Ishgar's strongest mage was just a jack-of-all-trades with high MP? Plus how would he be a Spriggan if this was the case? I think it's safe to assume that Serena has a high level (if not mastery) in terms of element control.

My opinion now is:

R1) Gildarts mid-diff
R2) Gildarts high/extreme diff

He was labeled their strongest mage based on what people saw... anyway, I couldn't care less about hype, titles & such things at this point as Hiro doesn't know how to deliver once he builds it up.

MP doesn't determine proficiency, merely scale. To be proficient at something is a skill that consumes a person's life -- to study & be encapsulated to the point it becomes second nature to them.

Serena is really good with the elements, but;

He won't develop to Natsu's proficiency with fire.

He won't develop to Laxus proficiency with lightning.

He won't develop what Wendy could with wind.

He won't develop up to what Juvia could with water.

If he has sand element, Serena won't develop up to Ajeel's mastery.

He's good with the elements, he has high MP to boost the power of his moves & he has a variety; these compensates for his lack of proficiency. If Gildarts has Spriggian-tier MP -- & I'm assuming he now does -- & he has reached proficiency lvl with crush magic, I could only expect him crushing Serena next chapter.
