Ground Rules for the Power Level Discussion Thread
As always, please follow the guidelines set by the Forum Rules that apply across the board.
It's important that discussions from a current chapter are spoiler tagged until 24h have passed from an english release.
For the sake of constructive discussion, where and when possible please quote/ source any information you provide. Particularly when it comes to conversations carried over from other threads.
Avoid passive agressive posts, sly remarks or baiting/trolling. You can certainly have fun or disagree without it being at someone's expense.
Only use anime examples that are canon and as means to provide clarity to pages in the manga. Any other anime material is otherwise non-canon and should only be referenced if it can be proved that the mangaka had approved it.
We will strive to avoid repetitive discussions and any extensive battle topics will be guided to the Davy Back fight to existing threads or new ones can be made there.
As of now these topics are shelved due to repetitiveness or until the manga can present us with material to further discussions:
Shanks v Mihawk
Hand to hand fighters > Swordsmen
Zoro > Luffy
Zoro v Sanji
Is Smoker a top 30 character?
Mihawk's rank within the story
Law having CoC currently.
Katakuri > Kaido/Luffy/Etc.
If you wish to continue any of these discussion and remove it from the list, you will need to provide manga material as proof. If there's also anything you think we've covered numerous times, let me know and I'll update the list.
This is the only warning there'll be regarding these ground rules, anything no adhering will be removed. So please just check your posts before posting them.
You are changing it, because you are the one who doesnt understand it. "It is only against WG, it is about incidents, it is about magnitude, it is about notoriousness, WG has to know about it." Who knows how your definition will look like in the end... As i said in my earlier comments, One Piece is not a story about brains, its a story of brawlers.
I asked you to be specific. Fact is we dont need to know specifics about their incidents because its irrelevant. We do get to know their strength because thats the relevant thing. If you apply the correct logic you would understand that it will never be about incidents. We only know about the incidents of the main characters since we follow their story. All others wont tell all the incidents they were involved in, we only get to see their strength.
Has nothing to do with being specific, it's just a fact, lol.
No bounty goes up without being involved in some incident.
It's simply common sense, there's a strong positive correlation with high bounties being related to incident.
Bounties work the same for everyone. Seems you don't understand as you fail to grasp context.
Even Luffy's bounty didn't just go from 0-500m:
First got involved in East blue where he gained 30m.
Then he got involved in Alabasta gaining a bounty of 100m.
Then Enies Lobby, 300m.
Then the events of Sabaody, Impel Down, Marineford raised his bounty to 400m.
Finally, Dressrosa where he earned a 500m bounty.
It's pretty obvious to the keen reader. Incidents are what raise bounties depending on the result and the magnitude. That much is a fact, but it's seemingly beyond you.
It's bemusing why it's difficult for you to understand that:
Katakuri, 48 years old.
Cracker, 45/46 years old.
Perospero, 50 years old.
These people have easily been Pirates for over 2 decades. It's only common sense that they've been involved in multiple incidents, lol. Nothing to do with strength buddy, incident.
Wrong again, he didn't fight anyone, he set off a weapon illegally, thus the reason he earned a bounty, lol. Incidents buddy. He got that bounty 3-4 years ago from the current time.
Unestablished character, a rookie. He didnt need any bounty but then he wouldnt be among the supernovas. Oda's underdog, the strongest among them with lowest bounty. As i said you dont understand it.
Tbh I don't think this should be such a big deal. Bounties represent threat level. Naturally to be a threat you have to be quite powerful yourself, but it's restricting to say this is the only relevant thing. Influence matters as well. Luffy's 1.5b is based on not just strength but influence too, and execution of his plan. If you plan to say the bounty represents Luffy's strength, what do you think would have happened if Luffy had been captured? Recall that Luffy had beaten both katakuri and cracker however, these were two separate fights. In addition, after katakuri's fight, Luffy was completely helpless. Even if we factor in his crew assisting and Jinbei, without the Germa they would have lost and been captured. Morgan would have reported the story, but it's likely Luffy might not have even gotten a bounty increase even if his victory over Katakuri and cracker had been made public. We can infere that pulling this off AND his escape are vastly important. His escape had nothing to do with his own strength, but factored in influence based on those who assisted him. The bounty reflects both facts that in addition to besting top commanders, he has sufficient crew and allies to make a get away even in yonko's territory.
Also, Cracker was under 1B, Katakuri was just about 1B. So there's a full 500m increase. We already saw from Luffy's last increase from 400-500 that as you get higher bounties don't just jump. Kata's 1,057,000,000 is proof of this. Why isn't this number rounded to say 1.1 or 1.15B? Why is there a 57million in there? Luffy's bounty probably wouldn't have passed the 1.2B mark if he had encountered Kata and Cracker and fought them under different circumstances that didn't deal with allies and escaping from a yonko's territory after pissing her off and wrecking her home
Regardless of stance, I don't think this fact can be disputed. All of Luffy's achievements factor in escape after the chaos amongst other things. That's part of success. The fact that he gets aways with these are factored in his bounty. His bounty mostly reflects his strength but not entirely. And this will become more evident when there are bigger limits to what he can pull off alone even when he defeats his main opponent
Bounty doesn't really indicate strength. Once a character has a bounty that's even as high as 100 million. You can only make a general reasonable presumption that they're strong without being able to say how strong or to what degree; in fact, it's really a reasonable guess more than anything. It's really no different to recognising someone someone who goes to one of the best universities in the country and claiming they must be smart; it's a reasonable presumption, but they really not may not be smart and even if they were, one couldn't say how smart they were which is the case with bounties.
No one saw exactly how Luffy defeated Cracker: He had help of Nami and Homies. He was on the backfoot the entire time. He was running for hours before he could defeat Cracker by taking him off-guard. Was that a fair fight? Not really.
Are the people who designate bounties factoring the strength of attacks? his fighting ability? How much he tanks? No, they weren't even there to begin with, therefore, all they have is the result.
It means if Luffy had defeated Cracker and Katakuri with poison or underhanded tactics, they'd still have given him the same bounty and credited him all the same. Therefore if method of reaching a result isn't factored into bounty, it means that only the result is factored, and result doesn't give us any other detail other than the result.
In boxing, 2 people fight, we get the results and see x-person won. Does that make the winner the better fighter? No. They may have been dominated for 11 rounds losing in all departments and landed a lucky punch on the 12th to defeat the better boxer.
Result doesn't give any details other than the results.
Bounty doesn't take any details regarding fights, just result. So how we can claim that Bounty is a tool that quantifies strength when it doesn't even factor anything about how the fight transpired other than the result?
If Bege had defeated Katakuri, Cracker and been held responsible for destroying the WCI Chateaux and deemed the leader, he'd also have gained a similar bounty as Luffy regardless of what method he used.
1. Usopps strength is not raw power, his strength is marksmanship. He demonstrated his strength in Dressrosa.
2. Sanji was part of huge incidents before and didnt get bounty raise but ok, point for you.
3. I didnt ask about first bounty, i asked about the increase of the bounty.
4. Check Robin's accomplishments in Dressrosa, she demonstrated strength on multiple occasions.
5. He got instant bounty of 300mil for one incident while Luffy needed countless to get there. Yes he didnt get it because of his strength but the amount he has represents his strength.
Fact is, Oda doesnt consider it relevant for us to know details of characters which SHs encounter but he considers it relevant to show us their strength.
1. Usopps strength is not raw power, his strength is marksmanship. He demonstrated his strength in Dressrosa.

Doesn't matter if it's the first, or fourth bounty, all bounties increase the same way, result of the incident and magnitude.
Caesar's bounty doesn't represent his strength, lol. It represents the magnitude of the incident.
It's easy to point out how flawed your rationale is.
Luffy had a bounty of 300m pre-skip and he was nowhere strong enough to defeat a Pacifista.
Zoro has a bounty of about 320m now, and he can defeat a Pacifista in 1 shot. So, how is 320m an accurate estimate of his strength when Luffy couldn't even do this when he had a 300m bounty? Much discrepancy, lol.
Kid had a bounty of 315m and couldn't defeat a Pacifista, yet Zoro can.
So, are you claiming that a mere difference of 5m is that big? Wow, lol.
Yet you claim Caesar's strength warrants him a 300m bounty meaning that Caesar is only as strong as Luffy was pre-skip when he's clearly much stronger given that he can taken attacks with Haki and even an Elephant Gun with Haki.
Urouge with just a 100m bounty displayed as much strength as Luffy did pre-skip against Pacifista all alone. By your rationale, Luffy should have been 3x stronger than Urouge and we see he wasn't.
Bounty is simply result of the incident and the magnitude, not strength. When Zoro had a bounty of 60m, he was strong enough to lift buildings and throw them around. Nami has a bounty of 66m and can't even lift half that much. Nami should be stronger than Zoro was at Alabasta if bounty is really a measure of strength.
Like I said, your understanding of bounty is warped.
At least i make you laugh. How much is BB's bounty? Tell me because i dont know.
He has been a shichibukai and had no bounty. He demonstrated strength by defeating Ace and got that position, no bounty needed.
It does, he is at least 300mil strong. Could he be stronger? Sure. Magnitude of Enies Lobby is far greater than Ceasar's incident and yet it took Enies Lobby plus everything else what Luffy did to get him to 300mil.
Luffy had a bounty of 300m pre-skip and he was nowhere strong enough to defeat a Pacifista.

So, are you claiming that a mere difference of 5m is that big? Wow, lol.
You are forgetting things again, Zoro defeated Pacifistas with bounty of 120mil. Even with 320mil, Zoro is not established character, he had no serious opponent yet to prove his real strength. Is that really so hard for you to understand?
Urouge with just a 100m bounty displayed as much strength as Luffy did pre-skip against Pacifista all alone. By your rationale, Luffy should have been 3x stronger than Urouge and we see he wasn't.

Lol, you said bounty represents strength, not magnitude of an incident. Stick to your premise at least.
How is Caesar's bounty 300m since you claim it's the measure of his strength?
Luffy at 300m couldn't even defeat a Pacifista with Elephant gun.
Now, Luffy can defeat one with just a mere punch.
Luffy currently had to defeat Caesar (300m bounty) with Elephant guns imbued with Haki while when Luffy was 300m, the best attack he could dish out wouldn't have hurt Caesar at all.
Kid couldn't defeat a Pacifista when he had 315m bounty.
Zoro with 120m can defeat a Pacifista after the time-skip.
Zoro with 120m was able to defeat Pica who is many times stronger than a Pacifista and got a bounty of 320m.
If you've not seen the pattern or lack therefore, we have people with 300m bounties unable to defeat Pacifista and characters with 300m able to defeat; huge discrepancy in strength despite being similar bounties. It isn't an accurate measure of strength nor is it a measure of strength, lol.
Hell, Luffy only had a bounty of 500m when Law is nowhere as strong as Luffy's Gear 4th. Law fought Joker twice and lost all to the point he was at death's door. Luffy on the other hand was strong enough to defeat Joker.
How is it that Luffy and Law both had a bounty of 500m at the end of Dressrosa when Luffy was clearly stronger?
Let me guess, Law is not an Established character?
You are forgetting things again, Zoro defeated Pacifistas with bounty of 120mil. Even with 320mil, Zoro is not established character, he had no serious opponent yet to prove his real strength. Is that really so hard for you to understand?
Lol, so you've redefined strength. So, Nami with a 66m bounty would be superior to Zoro during Alabasta arc? Yet, both Nami and Zoro are not established characters, so how did they measure their strength? Interesting. Sounds like you're making things up to fit with your argument.
Sugar was defeated two times. By who? None other than Usopp. First time due to accident and 2nd time due to his excellent strength in marksmanship.
Snipping an opponent from that distance and out of sight is his strength.
Í stick to my statements. I am using your logic to show how many flaws it has but i see you fail to understand that.
I am getting tired of explaining things all over again, you simply dont understand it. You are comparing character before timeskip with characters after time skip, it simply isnt getting in your head.
Hell, Luffy only had a bounty of 500m when Law is nowhere as strong as Luffy's Gear 4th. Law fought Joker twice and lost all to the point he was at death's door. Luffy on the other hand was strong enough to defeat Joker.

Lol. You obviously misunderstand everything. Strength =/= raw power. Law's raw power is not on the same level as Luffy's. Law's strength are his abilities. He literally has the skill to kill anyone (Doffy aside for plot purpose), thats his strength. Usopps strength is his marksmanship, Nami's strength is not lifting buildings...
Lol, so you've redefined strength. So, Nami with a 66m bounty would be superior to Zoro during Alabasta arc? Yet, both Nami and Zoro are not established characters, so how did they measure their strength? Interesting. Sounds like you're making things up to fit with your argument.
I did tell you to re-read OP, didnt i? You forgot too many things and assume some raw power comparison. Nami's bounty is 16mil for defeating Khalifa, an agent of CP9. Proof of strength. Her bounty going to 66mil is a default increase for being part of SHs for doing nothing during Dressrosa.
Wrong, they did give him a bounty for that, lol.
He had a bounty of 400m because he punched a Tenryuubito, broke in and escaped out of Impel Down and for participating in the war of the best.
I told you to re-read but you dont listen. One incident gets him an increase of 1bil while the greatest incident ever + Impel Down+MF war gets him only 100mil? How can you be so wrong, so often?
You are not fit to continue this debate as you are presenting more and more false information.
I am done with this topic as well. Those who bothered to follow this debate can decide for themselves what is and what isnt.
Well that's a rather simplistic look at things. You make a fair point, but it also ignores some other things.
Take your boxing example now, when you put it that way, it's rather clear that boxer 2 is the better fight but boxer 1 got lucky. However, what happens if boxer 2 is a well known boxer who is seasoned enough to not make some certain mistakes? or fall for some certain things? Then Boxer's 1 punch which might be lucky carries more weight. He is less likely to be said to have gotten lucky but instead would be said to have doggedly struggled until he overcame. Of course not all fights are like this, but when the WG looks at results, they factor in the fact that the defeated was/is seasoned enough (to a certain level based on their perception) to not get taken out easily and thus lucky factor becomes near negligible (in their perception). In that case, even IF they saw the fight, and saw elements of luck or underhand tactics, they would still assume that fighter 1 delivered at the most crucial moment and managed to last long enough to take this opportunity.
I think you took my analogy far more literally than supposed. The point I was making was details aside, the only thing the WG would truly ever know is the result and not so much the details of a fight.
The thing is there is no clarity. It's only result. The point is as long as you only have the result, you can't determine anything.
No different with a football match, 2 teams play, 1 team wins.
Can't tell who played better.
Can't tell who played worse.
Results tell no stories other than the result.
You're also assuming it's a fair fight too.
How do they know Luffy didn't have 10 people aiding him while fighting Cracker which was the case (Homies + Nami fought by his side)?
As stated, a fight between Pirates isn't supposed to be fair.
With that said, the result really tells nothing other than the result.
Do you remember how easily Caesar defeated Luffy+Smoker+Tashigi+Robin+Franky?
The result of a win doesn't more than often imply stronger, it only implies the result. Caesar wasn't stronger than Luffy and co., all he had was an ability they didn't understand and caught them off-guard. Once Luffy had figured it out, he didn't exactly need the help of the others to take him down.
Another example, Perona defeated Sanji+Luffy+Zoro in one fell swoop. Does that mean she's stronger because she won? No.
In fact, you just said the result implies stronger. Just before I continue, Doriki is actually the only accurate measure of strength because that actually requires an input of strength to get an output value to determine one's Doriki value.
Jabra - 2180 Doriki.
Kaku - 2200 Doriki.
Zoro defeated Kaku and earned a bounty of 120m after Enies Lobby while Sanji defeated Jabra who only had 20 points less Doriki than Kaku. Why then did Sanji only have 77m as a bounty after Enies Lobby? if the Bounty system worked with this mindset, it's impossible for Sanji's Bounty to be significantly lower. The fact both opponents literally have similar Doriki should mean Sanji and Zoro should have had similar bounties.
The part about result is an important point you made. Assuming Luffy managed to reproduce WCI not by fighting but say sneaking in, poisoning them and sneaking out with help of allies, it's likely he would have still received a similar bounty, however, bounty measure is not static, but the context here is a brawl battle, so strength is a big factor considered when understanding the result.
Sugar was defeated two times. By who? None other than Usopp. First time due to accident and 2nd time due to his excellent strength in marksmanship.
Snipping an opponent from that distance and out of sight is his strength.
Lol, he didn't hit her. He scared her. That isn't a strength.
The WG also didn't know of this feat either.
Usopp got his bounty because of the followers he amassed and the fact he was held hugely responsible for Dressrosa according to Joker. His strength played no role inn bounty.

Lol, so Nami who got a 50m increase in bounty despite actually doing nothing in Dressrosa. What "strength" did she display to warrant a 50m increase in bounty? Lol?
No one but Viola and co. saw Usopp, the WG didn't see him shoot. So it is a fallacy to claim he got a bounty for shooting at a long distance.
People don't get bounties for feats, people only get bounties for participating in incidents or leading one. Zoro and Sanji defeated Pacifistas in 1 hit in front of Sentomaru, yet they got no bounty increase. Hmm.
End of the day, Sanji got a 153m bounty despite not defeating anyone, lol.
Zoro defeated Kaku with 2200 Doriki.
Sanji defeated Jabra with 2180 Doriki.
Yet, Sanji only got a 77m Bounty after Enies Lobby while Zoro got a Bounty of 120m. Yet you claim it's about strength when Kaku and Jabra aren't that much stronger than the other.
I told you to re-read but you dont listen. One incident gets him an increase of 1bil while the greatest incident ever + Impel Down+MF war gets him only 100mil? How can you be so wrong, so often?
Lol, you should take your own advice though. Luffy didn't lead Impel Down or Marineford. He wasn't the master-mind. WCI, he's regarded as the master-mind behind the whole plot. WCI is a feat of far greater magnitude.
You are not fit to continue this debate as you are presenting more and more false information.
I am done with this topic as well. Those who bothered to follow this debate can decide for themselves what is and what isnt.
Lol, but you provided so much false evidence and twisted so many things.
You said Bounty is about strength, and then you said it was about brawling, not brains.
Luffy with a 300m bounty couldn't destroy a Pacifista, yet Zoro and Sanji with Bounties below half of that can? I'm guessing you're going to claim Zoro is a Swordsman, so bounties are calculated differently because different strength, lol.
Even if you brought people of similar type of strength and created a ranking system, it'd still be wrong due to discrepancy.
Bellamy who has Haki has a 195m Bounty and is significantly stronger than he was 2 years ago; Luffy with a bounty of just 300m is nowhere as strong as Bellamy is with 195m. Let me guess, invoking "different strength" because of the discrepancy in power or Bellamy's an exception? or Bellamy is not established? Lol.
I'm not even sure what you mean by a Pirate not being established when they are regarded as the Worst Generation. Any Pirate who gets a bounty of 100m and over is considered to be a pretty seasoned. Sounds like another excuse.
Sabo was said to have drawn against Fujitora. Yet, Sabo only has a 602m bounty after Dressrosa. So much for Bounty equating into strength.
He took her out, twice. You are the one who claims that only what matters is the result. There you have it, a result. Taking her out from that huge distance is Usopp's strength, there is no other Strawhat or any other character with such strentgth, other than sharpshooters. He proved his strength. Yes, his bounty increase is influenced by other factors but he definitely demonstrated his strength and CoO power up.
WG doesnt need to know. Fact! Dont bother bringing this up again because it is false information. No one saw Zoro beating Mr.1. He got a bounty for it even tho nobody knew. Again, WG doesnt need to know.
Blackbeard is an exception in many things, fact. Strong enough to kill top commander of WB pirates and has no bounty. Only character in OP who wields two devil fruit powers. Only character who became Shichibukai without having bounty. Only logia whose powers work differently than other logias. If he was able to became Shichibukai without bounty who is to say that he didnt achieve same with Yonko title? Unless you have proof of his bounty, you are only assuming.
Assuming again. It is a story of brawlers and it is about strength. We saw a fight between 2 brawlers who played out their strengths, different strengths. I am speaking of Luffy vs Usopp. Just because Usopp cant punch as hard as Luffy can doesnt make Usopp a brain. He is still a brawler. Same thing for Law, without strength he would never defeat Vergo, his abilities aside.
Lol, so Nami who got a 50m increase in bounty despite actually doing nothing in Dressrosa. What "strength" did she display to warrant a 50m increase in bounty? Lol?
As much as this undermines my theory, it does the same for your theory. What result and incident was she involved in to get that increase? Which other character gets bounty increase for doing nothing, other than Strawhat members? I know you have hard time accepting it but exceptions are out there.
Yet, Sanji only got a 77m Bounty after Enies Lobby while Zoro got a Bounty of 120m. Yet you claim it's about strength when Kaku and Jabra aren't that much stronger than the other.
And what does this tell you? To me it says that in Oda's opinion Zoro deseves higher bounty, because he is stronger than Sanji. It also tells me that if they swapped their opponents, Jabra would be dead meat in matter of seconds while Kaku would most likely kill Sanji effortlessly, plot armor aside.
Lol, you should take your own advice though. Luffy didn't lead Impel Down or Marineford. He wasn't the master-mind. WCI, he's regarded as the master-mind behind the whole plot. WCI is a feat of far greater magnitude.
First, i showed you that you are wrong. Jinbe stated why Luffy's bounty increased, because of his actions in war, not because of punching Celestial Dragon or Impel down event. Fact.
Second, Luffy did lead Impel Down. He lead Enies Lobby as well. He didnt lead WCI from the moment he became part of Bege's plan, he wasnt mastermind as you try to present it with screenshots of Morgans'made up story. WCI is not of greater magnitude than beating up Celestial Dragons, destroying Enies Lobby, breaking in and out of most secure prison, participating in greatest war ever and humiliating Marines by freeing Ace right in front of their nose, in front of all their military might.
Luffy with a 300m bounty couldn't destroy a Pacifista, yet Zoro and Sanji with Bounties below half of that can? I'm guessing you're going to claim Zoro is a Swordsman, so bounties are calculated differently because different strength, lol.
You keep assuming because you dont understand it. How many times have i said that Strawhats are exceptions? Luffy's 300mil doesnt represent only his strength, there are other factors as well (post Enies Lobby). Sanji and Zoro in the moment when they beat up Pacifista have just returned from 2 years training. When did they have a chance to get bounty increase to represent their new strength?
I'm not even sure what you mean by a Pirate not being established when they are regarded as the Worst Generation. Any Pirate who gets a bounty of 100m and over is considered to be a pretty seasoned. Sounds like another excuse.
What i mean with not established is the entire new generation of pirates who are in the process of traveling the Grand Line and testing their strength against the world, their bounty is a subject to constant change. Before time skip Strawhats have been traveling the seas for how long? Few months at best. How can they be established in such short time lol... Even after time skip they havent tested their strength against the world, except Luffy. Sabo is included here, he is growing stronger each day. We saw his power up by acquiring Ace's devil fruit.
You say strength is a large chunk, how do you know? What's your evidence? and Where is the consistency? When you state a hypothesis, it has to be consistent. When it isn't consistent, it's proof your hypothesis is wrong. You're having to make exceptions in cases where this strength hypothesis doesn't work, that proves it's flawed.
Dont over complicate things. We know it is strength, Oda knows, characters in One Piece know its strength. Its a world where strong rule. System is flawed and doesnt fit literally every characters, thats why those few are exceptions. When we speak of consistency, Nami got bounty increase for doing nothing. It makes your theory inconsistent?
They also do not know it's a brawl. What evidence do they have? No one saw the battle, all they know is the conclusion. You're making baseless assumptions in this case, not facts.
Quite a few of the things Morgan said were untrue, why? because he lacked context. We on the other hand who read it were eye-witnesses to the entire thing.
And it's not Morgan who tells the WG what to believe, he just writes the news. It's the WG that will determine bounty. The only known facts the WG have concerning WCI from Stussy are the only true objective conclusive facts:
False, if it was based on Stussy's report the bounty wouldnt be as high. It's based Morgans' distorted news about the events, only truth is strength related.
No one gets a Bounty without leading or being involved in an incident.
The magnitude of that incident defines the size of the bounty and there aren't many incidents one can lead or be involved in that will astronomically allow one to instantly gain extremely high bounties.
1. Nami got bounty for doing nothing, wasnt involved and didnt lead any incident during Dressrosa events.
2. We are all aware of magnitude of the incident when Luffy demolished the face of a Celestial Dragon. 0 bounty increase for it. Even Usopp who KO'ed other Celestial Dragon didnt get any bounty increase, whatsoever.
Even tho Perospero is not a sweet commander he still commands forces of BM pirates, even those with higher bounty. Just because he is not a sweet commander doesnt make him weaker than Snack.
If bounty also represents strength, how is Luffy supposedly 50% stronger than Katakuri whom he barely dominated? If anything, a bounty below Katakuri's and maybe above Cracker's would have made much more sense.
It is not hard to understand at all. We know his bounty is not only about strength, too many factors are included in Luffy's bounty. Strength, Allied forces and Morgans presenting him in better light than it is, just to name a few.
Long story short. One Piece is a story of the great pirate era. We all know what pirates do - they fight. Strength in such environment is a crucial thing. What we ask ourselves often is how strong is this pirate and how strong is that pirate. We dont ask ourselves what incidents was he involved in or what terrible deeds he committed or what knowledge he posses to be a threat for the WG. Oda is using this system to let us know how strong they are. Just because the system doesnt apply to every single character we cant say its not what system is there for. It applies to majority even tho it has flaws.
Just because Robin got her bounty for her knowledge doesnt mean entire system is adjusted to her, she is the only one in the world with such knowledge, an exception. Even her bounty will increase when she defeats strong opponents.
Just because we follow a group of few pirates, who are the main characters btw, and we see all their events and involvements doesnt mean all other characters have done the same.
When you see Katakuri at his introduction with his 1bil+ bounty your first thought is - Wow this guy must be strong. Did he disappoint? Not at all, he was exceptionally strong. By seeing Katakuri's bounty no one thought - Wow this guy probably can read poneglyphs or This guy must have punched Celestial Dragon in the face or this guy must have opposed the WG.
Just because Luffy punched Tenryubito in the face, wrecked Enies Lobby, defeated 3 Schichibukais, broke in and out of Impel down, participated in War of the best...doesnt mean Katakuri did the same. For a fact, we know that Katakuri did none of those things.
For all we know, Katakuri was born in New World, never had to work his way into Grand Line and New World like Luffy had. We know he is undefeated, we know that all pirates opposing BM pirates dont get far and its enough to send Snack deal with them and eventually Cracker. Katakuri probably never needed to lift a finger and still has 1bil bounty.
Every character, no matter how flawed the bounty system is, didnt disapoint strength wise when it comes to amount they have in the bounty. They are always strong enough for the amount they have in bounty, usually even stronger since they are unestablished characters or Shichibukais whose bounties are frozen.
One Piece is targeting younger audience, bounty is not a complicated thing, it is very simple so younger audience can understand it.
They don't know what he did, lol. He only gained a bounty because Joker made him the biggest target. No one knows about his CoO or longrange shot. His bounty is raised to 200m because he played a huge role in the incident. Nothing to do with strength, lol.
As much as this undermines my theory, it does the same for your theory. What result and incident was she involved in to get that increase? Which other character gets bounty increase for doing nothing, other than Strawhat members? I know you have hard time accepting it but exceptions are out there.
His bounty would have gone up for Impel Down and Marineford. They don't know he lead, they only know they worked together. He's not the master-mind as each had their agenda as implied in the manga, lol.
Dont over complicate things. We know it is strength, Oda knows, characters in One Piece know its strength. Its a world where strong rule. System is flawed and doesnt fit literally every characters, thats why those few are exceptions. When we speak of consistency, Nami got bounty increase for doing nothing. It makes your theory inconsistent?
How the OP world is ruled doesn't mean Bounty is defined by strength. Only ignorant people who ignore facts and clear discrepancies to that notion and regardless of it think it's strength invoking "exception" to rationalise it, lol.
And nope, Nami completely fits into it. All one has to do is participate which is why she has a bounty.
No one knows Blackbeard gave Shanks a scar, thus the reason no one even knew who he was before becoming a Shichibukai. Even Sengoku didn't know him. The scar he gave Shanks was years before he became a Shichibukai and he had a bounty of 0, lol.
Bounty is given for incident, not for display of strength.
They don't know, lol. They only know the conclusion between Luffy against Cracker and Katakuri. Had Luffy not had help from Nami and Homies, he'd well have lost to Cracker by the way things were developing.
False, if it was based on Stussy's report the bounty wouldnt be as high. It's based Morgans' distorted news about the events, only truth is strength related.
Nami and co. were seen by the Marines and Fujitora in Dressrosa before they fled to Zou. Therefore, the crew got a generic increase of 50m as they didn't know exactly what role they played, but they were nonetheless involved.
And of course, they wouldn't publicise a Tenryubitto getting hit, otherwise it might incite a revolt. Common sense buddy.
Even tho Perospero is not a sweet commander he still commands forces of BM pirates, even those with higher bounty. Just because he is not a sweet commander doesnt make him weaker than Snack.
It is not hard to understand at all. We know his bounty is not only about strength, too many factors are included in Luffy's bounty. Strength, Allied forces and Morgans presenting him in better light than it is, just to name a few.
Lol, it does apply to every character. It's just your understanding of it that doesn't allow you to comprehend it.
Bounties only go up with incidents.
Anyone with a Bounty that's pretty high has almost 9/10 times been involved in multiple incidents.
It's the incident that drives bounty.
Luffy is a great example, he didn't just shoot up to 500m:
First involved in East Blue to get a bounty of 30m.
Then Alabasta to get 100m.
Then Enies Lobby to get 300m.
Then Impel Down to Marineford for 400m.
Dressrosa for 500m.
5 incidents to get to 500m. Anyone who has a bounty has almost likely committed multiple incidents. Only thing we won't know is the magnitude unless told. Even Law:
At Sabaody, 200m bounty.
Before the 2 years time-skip was over, he got involved in the Rocky Port incident and got a bounty of 440m.
Dressrosa, 500m.
Point proven, we have at least 2 incidents that we know of. Bounty goes up with incident. There's no sense to the idea it's strength based when there's no way to determine strength without watching the fights which the WG don't get to see for the most part.

I'd advice you read and did some research on bounty as you're terribly mistaken in so many aspects of bounty.
They don't know what he did, lol. He only gained a bounty because Joker made him the biggest target. No one knows about his CoO or longrange shot. His bounty is raised to 200m because he played a huge role in the incident. Nothing to do with strength, lol.
According to your logic they dont need to know what and how, they only need a result. Law and Luffy would be forgotten for all eternity if Usopp didnt demonstrate his strength in marksmanship.
Lol, I'll bring up whatever I want. You don't have to respond.
The fact is the WG cannot attribute bounty based on strength since bounty doesn't take into account how fights transpired.
He got a bounty for playing a huge role in this incident a la Zoro.
You're more or less reiterating what I've said, shows you're beginning to learn somewhat. All they have is the conclusion.
You got me totally wrong but ok, not the first time. They have a conclusion yes but how do they know to who to give the bounty since they dont know who defeated mr 1?
Nope, he's not an exception, lol.
Anyone involved in an incident gets a bounty.
That is a fact. Not sure how you can dispute this other than you just feel the need to, lol.
Blackbeard not an exception? I think i showed you few facts that he is an exception in my previous reply.
He was involved in a known incident of big magnitude. Fight against Ace. Incident, threat, result, call it however you want it. No bounty.
Nope, my theory doesn't get undermined by this, yours does, lol which is why it's obviously wrong.
I said bounty is attributed for leading an incident or being involved which Nami was.
If anyone is having a hard time, it's you, lol. You claim it's about strength, but she did nothing strength-wise.
It undermines you more than you know but you simply cant see since you are too sure in yourself. Chopper was as involved as Nami, he didnt get same increase. Kinemon, Kanjuro and Momonosure are as involved as they are, seen by Fujitora and yet no bounty increase.
His bounty would have gone up for Impel Down and Marineford. They don't know he lead, they only know they worked together. He's not the master-mind as each had their agenda as implied in the manga, lol.
They know precisely that Luffy infiltrated Impel down, no one else. He is the mastermind, he is the leader. All those who joined followed Luffy's lead. You ss with smoker is irrelevant, he didnt say strange alliance with Ivankov or Buggy or Jinbe. He mentioned Crocodile since he knows of their history.
People only make exceptions when they can't explain anything properly, lol.
You make exception whenever something doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense because your theory is wrong, simple as that.
Whether you like it or not, they are exceptions. No system is perfect to have no exceptions. Just because it has exceptions doesnt make the system wrong.
Even the anime producers called the Strawhats "Exceptions among exceptions". Go tell them that they are wrong and exceptions dont exist and they dont understand it and thus calling them exceptions. Lol.
Again, according to you all one has to do is participate which is wrong on so many levels. Momonosuke, Kinemon, Kanjuro, Kyros, Tontatas, Blackbeard... All participated and still no bounty.
Lol, actually, you're wrong again buddy.
Kinemon, Kanjuro, Momonosuke, Kyros, Tontatas have been seen and participated along SHs and no generic increase or normal increase.
Common sense is that it doesnt take strength to punch Celestial Dragon and thus no bounty. They didnt publicise Luffy defeating Crocodile and still got bounty. Whats the difference? Proof of strength, buddy.
Lol, I never said he was weaker than Snack.
If you read properly or follow what people say, people believed Snack should be stronger than Perospero since he's a commander.
The point is Bounty doesn't reflect strength, lol. It just reflects the accumulated magnitude of incidents one has been involved in.
If you would think that bounty shows strength of those guys you wouldnt believe Snack is stronger than Perospero. I already told, just because Strawhats are involved in incidents and doing everything doesnt mean Snack and Perospero were involved in such. For a fact we know they werent.
Nice, contradicting yourself, lol.
You said Caesar was worth 300m because of his strength.
Now, Luffy's isn't just about his strength.
A lot of resorting to fallacies, lol.
I am not contradicting myself at all, it you who sees red and nothing else. I always said there are other factors included, i always said Strawhats are exceptions.
Again, just because Luffy is involved in everything doesnt mean every character is involved in the same. It is a fact. You are assuming. Only thing we do get to see from such characters is their strength, fact. And no matter how perfect a system is, it will always have exceptions.
According to your logic they dont need to know what and how, they only need a result. Law and Luffy would be forgotten for all eternity if Usopp didnt demonstrate his strength in marksmanship.
You got me totally wrong but ok, not the first time. They have a conclusion yes but how do they know to who to give the bounty since they dont know who defeated mr 1?

Lol, nope. It doesn't undermine. People get bounties for participating in incidents as long as they're recognised. People like Nami or Sanji didn't get any bounties at Alabasta because they weren't recognised.
You still haven't caught on that Chopper is unknown because he only fights with points. Even Wikia has this right, lol.
Nope, wrong. He promised the WG he'd bring the head of someone valuable in order to become a Shichibukai. He was unknown until now despite the fact he fought Shanks. It was obviously something that happened secretly of which even Whitebeard didn't know about. As he's no longer a Shichibukai, of course he'd receive a bounty after an incident.
If you would think that bounty shows strength of those guys you wouldnt believe Snack is stronger than Perospero. I already told, just because Strawhats are involved in incidents and doing everything doesnt mean Snack and Perospero were involved in such. For a fact we know they werent.
Nope. It's because he was involved in Alabasta that Luffy received a bounty. They just covered up the incident by attributing it to Smoker and thus promoted him. It would have been suspicious if the SHs had been involved and received no bounty.
The only reason the WG even came to Alabasta was under the pretence of going after the SHs when Smoker's true motive was actually Crocodile. This might be a bit too esoteric but try.
You like to make me repeat myself, even the spectators noticed that we are going in a circle. Again, no one knows that Zoro was the one who has beaten Mr 1, same as you want to claim that no one knows what Usopp did.
No one knows who defeated Mr 1. It is a fact, except his partner and Nami, no one else saw the fight. If you pull your "only result matters" straw - how do they know who should get the credit for defeating mr 1? Again, you are making me repeat myself.
Wikia is not an official source of information, you could be behind it as well so that source is irrelevant. I did my research, buddy. Fact is Strawhats never killed anyone. If Kaku and Lucci are alive and kicking it is common sense to assume that Kumadori is alive and kicking as well. He knows who he fought and that it was Chopper. Again, you like to make me repeat myself.
Nope, Oda doesn't just give bounties,.
He only ever raises bounties after incidents, lol. Name one time a bounty has ever gone up without an incident? You can not.
Of course i can not. Oda is still trying to make the story plausible and giving bounties without anything happening would be bad story telling. He still choses not to give bounty even when things do happen. He gives them when he thinks the time is right.
I was very specific in a previous reply regarding this. We know for a fact that that Snack, Perospero, Cracker, Smoothie, Katakuri and countless others werent involved in incidents which SHs have been involved in. They didnt destroy Enies Lobby, they didnt punch Celestial Dragon, they didnt break in and out of Impel Down, they didnt participate in War of the best, they didnt defeat 3 shichibukais and countless other incidents where SHs were involved in. It is a fact, like it or not. Like i said, just because main characters are involved in all of it you cant assume that all others were involved in it as well. Like i said, Katakuri may have never needed to lift a finger since all intruders were scared away by Snack and Cracker and he still has bounty of 1bil.
Nope. It's because he was involved in Alabasta that Luffy received a bounty. They just covered up the incident by attributing it to Smoker and thus promoted him. It would have been suspicious if the SHs had been involved and received no bounty.
How was he involved in Alabasta? By crossing Crocodiles path over and over. If you cover that up there is no proof that he was involved. Just being involved got him 70mil increase at that point in story? Highely unlikely.
Then why is Urouge with 108m able to do as much if not better than Luffy could against a Pacifista pre-skip? Was Urouge apparently 3x weaker than Luffy then?
You like to make me repeat myself, even the spectators noticed that we are going in a circle. Again, no one knows that Zoro was the one who has beaten Mr 1, same as you want to claim that no one knows what Usopp did.

There are many things that can be done besides Enies Lobby or taking part in the war of the best.
There are many things that will be recognised as incidents and end up generating bounties.
We don't need to know what they did, we just know they've been involved in countless incidents. Perospero and Katakuri easily have been Pirates for 30 years, lol.
You don't get a bounty for doing nothing buddy, doesn't work like that, lol.
There's a reason Robin's bounty remained at 79m for 20 years, it's because they were unaware of any thing she'd been involved in, thus, inability to raise bounties.
Brooks bounty stayed at 33m for inactivity. It only went up after he'd been involved in an incident.
Incidents are what raise bounties, not just doing nothing or reputation, lol.
How was he involved in Alabasta? By crossing Crocodiles path over and over. If you cover that up there is no proof that he was involved. Just being involved got him 70mil increase at that point in story? Highely unlikely.
Lol, ye, just like Sanji just being involved got him a bounty raise of 153. Nami too got a bounty for simply being involved.
Bounties go up for being involved too.
Luffy was involved, and got a bounty increase. The WG covered up Alabasta by giving Smoker a promotion. Luffy's bounty would have been higher, but they gave him just a 70m increase.
Their presence in Alabasta was known, was the entire reason they sent a fleet there buddy or did you forget? They just covered up their activity there by giving Smoker the promotion and making out like the SHs were just there to take advantage of the chaos in Alabasta rather than credit him for it to save face. Which if you knew, you'd understand why Fujitora publicly announced that Pirates saved Dressrosa.
He still was involved in an incident with collateral damage, still represents a threat, got a result as you like to call it. Still had no bounty. You claimed in the previous reply that he was involved in an incident and received bounty, because he did the fundamentals...
You cant accept that exceptions exist. Even exceptions among exceptions. Just because you dont want to admit doesnt make it false.
As i said previously, Kinemon, Kanjuro, Momonosuke, Kyros, Tontatas and Choppers, Namis, Sanjis, Brooks involvement in Dressrosa with different outcome, even tho they were involved in the incident. Again, Celestial Dragon incident with different outcome. Your theory is all except bulletproof.
Again, Kumadori knows that it is Chopper, he literally saw him transform. Enies Lobby was destroyed to the ground by buster call with all defeated members of CP9 present. And a fact that SHs didnt kill anyone. If Kaku and Lucci are alive, what makes you think Kumadori isnt?
There are many things that can be done besides Enies Lobby or taking part in the war of the best.

We don't need to know what they did, we just know they've been involved in countless incidents. Perospero and Katakuri easily have been Pirates for 30 years, lol.
Enies Lobby, Impel Down and Marineford are 3 major locations of the Marines. If they werent involved in these locations what else is there to be involved in to get 1bil bounty?
If Snack and Cracker were enough to deal with everything, what else is there for Katakuri to get involved in to get 1bil bounty?
Luffy was involved, and got a bounty increase. The WG covered up Alabasta by giving Smoker a promotion. Luffy's bounty would have been higher, but they gave him just a 70m increase.

Ace's presence in Alabasta was known too, he even fought against Smoker. No bounty increase. Sanji was involved and defeated Mr 2, no bounty.
The idea of covering things up and increasing bounty is contradicting.
He still was involved in an incident with collateral damage, still represents a threat, got a result as you like to call it. Still had no bounty. You claimed in the previous reply that he was involved in an incident and received bounty, because he did the fundamentals...
Any incident done on behalf of the WG is pardoned as long as it's not excessive and giving them bad publication. Thus why the WG for a time allowed Weevil to continue to do as he pleased despite the fact there were lots of casualties in the fray.
Blackbeard was also acting on a promise to the WG, of course they wouldn't give him a bounty if he was doing so to become a Shichibukai.
Well of course he received a bounty after the lost his Shichibkai status, that much should be obvious, lol.

Lol, Sanji and Zoro's bounties didn't go up for defeating Pacifista. That's false. Their bounty remained at 77m and 120m respectively until Dressrosa.
Only Luffy's bounty went up because he participated at Marineford.
The punching of a Tenryuubito would be covered up as not to encourage rebellion and no one knows of Impel Down which is hwy no bounty was received from it. It was covered up. You're clearly unaware of the Impel Down Level 6 prisoners escaping as being kept a secret, lol.
Enies Lobby, Impel Down and Marineford are 3 major locations of the Marines. If they werent involved in these locations what else is there to be involved in to get 1bil bounty?

Irrelevant buddy.

Blackbeard was also acting on a promise to the WG, of course they wouldn't give him a bounty if he was doing so to become a Shichibukai.
It is not irrelevant and BB wasnt doing it on behalf of WG. Lafitte only asked for a little bit time so the seat doesnt get filled.
Same situation, Law involved in Rocky port incident which got him the seat among Shichibukais got bounty increase and for the same thing Blackbeard didnt get bounty.
All Strawhats are recognized. A marine officer is literally looking at all their bounty posters and calling them Exceptions among exceptions. Go tell the producers they are wrong lol.
Lol, who said Kumadori is dead? Think you're responding to the wrong person here buddy.
The WG do not know Chopper is the one who transformed into Monster Point which is why he has only 50 beri,
Lol, Sanji and Zoro's bounties didn't go up for defeating Pacifista.
Oh boy, so many contradicting things to respond to here and you are confused that you dont know what you are supposed to answer.
Yes, Sanji and Zoro didnt get bounty for destroying Pacifista, that was my point, because you previously said that recognized characters such as Sanji and Zoro do get a bounty for an incident. They didnt get it for that incident. Recognised characters Luffy and Usopp got no bounty for taking out Celestial dragons.
They dont want to encourage movement against Tenryuubitos but they want to encourage taking out Shichibukais? Contradictory, buddy.
No one saw Zoro beating mr 1 but somehow Smoker knows it and Zoro gets bounty, while they know who wrecked Impel down and didnt get bounty because it was a cover up but the cover up in Alabasta got him the bounty increase. You are gonna fry your own brain with so many contradictions.
Logic is perfectly fine. We know for a fact that Snack and Cracker defeated and scared away all those who went into Totto land. We know for a fact that they werent involved in incidents at 3 major locations of the Marines.
Katakuri is undefeated yes, he would also be undefeated if no one ever attacked him, bcs as the fact states, Snack and Cracker dealt with everything.
For a fact we know he doesnt have to deal with intruders and for a fact we know that he wasnt involved with Marines 3 major locations. What got him the insanely huge 1bil bounty? Picking minor fights with some irrelevant characters?
Nami, Chopper, Brook and Sanji didnt do much in Dressrosa either and still, bounty got increased. Another contradiction, buddy.
Basically, your every single point can be proven as a contradiction to your previous statements. No wonder you think your system is flawless when you cant see the flaws and have double standards and contradictions for every point you make.
Same situation, Law involved in Rocky port incident which got him the seat among Shichibukais got bounty increase and for the same thing Blackbeard didnt get bounty.

The SH crew were involved in an incident, therefore, since they were seen and recognised, they got bounties.
Ace was responsible for nothing in Alabasta, therefore, no Bounty increase. He did nothing notable in Alabsta. Not like he went to disturb the Shichibukai system.
Good attempt though, lol. You're literally the only person who thinks the WG actually know who Chopper is, lol.
