I agree with pretty much everything you stated except for the fact that you ranked Brandish as one of the lowest ranked Spriggans. I'm curious as to why you did this because I was under the impression that although she doesn't seem as strong as the likes of August, she still was a force to be reckoned with. Even if she was one of the lower ranked Spriggans, I find it too hard to believe that Brandish would be ranked among Ajeel.

I feel like August ranks the highest among the spriggans that Makarov knows about . There are still 3 left whose names are unknown to him . The guy in the armor looks pretty strong..
I agree August seems to be the strongest of the Spriggans due to Makarov's little portfolio describing his unlimited power.

I think Brandish is she strongest from Low ranked tier lvl.
But she Other get very fucking monster,i thing dimaria is powerfuller than Azeal and Brandish.
Bloodman like very strong too i thing he is mid ranked tier lvl.
And Invel,God Serena and Neinhart the strongest of Spriggan.
August highest Spriggan he is over Invel,God Serena and Neinhart,he is big lvl like Zeref and Acnologia i thing.

Just from the way Brandish has been portrayed so far I don't think she is one of the weaker Spriggans, even if she's one of the stronger lower-tier Spriggans. And if August were to be as powerful as Zeref and Acnologia I don't think he would be serving as one of Zeref's Spriggan 12. Although he could be working with Zeref just to defeat the bigger threat (Acnologia) to betray Zeref, he would have to fave the whole of the Alavarez kingdom and Zeref, which I don't think he would be able to pull off.

Makarov's comments rate them like this:

1) August
2) Ajeel, Brandish, Di Maria, God Serena, Invel.

Then there is Wahl, Ninehart and Bloodman who Makarov never met, so they could be in group 1 or 2.

That is basically the info we got, I am not going to speculate on who is stronger than who apart from August. They should all be very powerful and it would be hard to tell who is stronger because it will take big efforts to beat them.

I don't think ranking Ajeel and Brandish on the same level would be smart. As I've said before, the way Brandish has been portrayed shows that she is extremely powerful (although not on the same level as August) and we've seen that although Ajedl is strong, he is evidently one of the weakest Spriggans.

Where is it portrayed that she is stronger than Ajeel? She's possibly stronger - but it hasn't been indicated to me at least that she's any stronger than Ajeel. And Ajeel is evidently not one of the weakest yet, because on evidence only August has shown a superior feat (and this is debatable). I do think that Ajeel could fall to the weaker Spriggans though.

Well we had originally had both Natsu and Gary trembling at Brandish's power on Caracoll Isalnd. Gray even mentioned that her power was of the charts, where as none of the Fairy Tail wizards have shown that kind of fear towards Ajeel. In my opinion I also thought that Ajeel was one of the weakest because Zeref chose to use Ajeel as the first Spriggan to come in contact with the fairies and I chose to interpret this as Zeref's way of starting off with his weakest shield, whether Mashima intended for it to be that way, is up to interpretation though. Where as I felt as though Brandish was only sent first to accomplish an infiltration (explaining why she was seemingly one-shotted and why she chose to target Lucy). If Brandish is infiltrating Fairy Tail's base, it would show the amount of trust Zeref has in her and her power. Although this is all pure speculation, this is just how I chose to interpret the past and current situations.

On Caracoll Is I just thought they were surprised to see someone of that power randomly, not in Alvarez yet at that point. Natsu's arm thingy went off for Ajeel and Brandish, and Gray said that Ajeel is probably on the same level as Brandish. Your speculation about their roles being related to power levels is fine imo but everyone is doing the same - speculating that is.

After this week's double issue I think it is fair to say that Wahl is one of the lower ranked Spriggans possibly even below Ajeel. Although it is arguable that Wahl wasn't finished off by the Thunder God Tribe and Ichiya, that would mean that he was forced to play dead just to survive, unless of course he had an addititional motive.

No there seems to be a misconception here. Even if Wahl is down for the count after this chapter, dead or alive, I still rank him way higher than Ajeel as per my original listing. A battle doesn't prove who is stronger, you have to look at the logic behind it.

Take this for example. Ajeel fought Erza in a 1v1, but that was the only thing he had to do, focus on Erza.

Wahl on the other hand was focusing on taking down the Jutsu Shiki, not obliterating FT. It was a fluke that Wahl was beaten if he actually was. Ajeel was ready for Erza's attack, but Wahl wasn't ready for a sudden attack by Freed and Ichiya.

Freed was supposed to be stuck in his position because Natsu and Gajeel and Wendy hadn't taken out the Western Front. Wahl had no idea that Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy had defeated the Western Front AND use Warren's telepathy to relay the message over to Freed.

Therefore, Wahl had no way to know that Freed was eventually free to move around, since he assumed Freed was stuck in that place to keep the Jutsu Shiki up. And of course, at that point blank and a burst shot, Freed and Ichiya could easily rip Wahl to shreds.

Had Wahl anticipated the fluke of Ajeel's squadron on the Western Front and the capability for FT to relay the message through telepathy, Wahl wouldn't have been beaten.

In my opinion, under neutralize circumstances, Wahl could even rival Laxus himself.

That very well could be true, but even if Wahl wasn't ready for the attack, I don't think a Spriggan should be able to be taken down by the likes of Freed and Ichiya. I understand the notion itself and I understand what you mean, I just personally don't think that's why he was take down. I also agree that Wahl's power could rival that of Laxus's but that comes without saying. The Spriggan's are meant to be on par with God Serena, the former strongest wizard in Ishgal. But I do also think that Wahl could only keep up with Laxus because of his ability to use lightning to his own advantage.

Well his Weakness Soldiers and attributes are already OP in itself. Even if Wahl didn't have counter-electric properties, he could still be on Laxus level.

Wahl's weakness magic rivals Gray's logic in itself. What took Gray hard work to win battles by thinking and logic, is second nature to Wahl due to his Weakness Detection capabilities.

I have no problem if Wahl is taken out right now. It just goes to show not all strong characters last long. It'd be too predictable if Mashima made it like:

Stronger you are = Absolutely last longer in battle

Weaker you are= Faster you will be fodderized

It goes back to the core logic and ancient conception of battle. There are such things as unluckiest and odds. In other words, something unexpected can happen or an exterior factor can go against you leading up to your fall.

That is exactly what happened to Wahl, it was out of sheer luck on FT's side that they had the necessary utilities and exact timing to beat Wahl. It was obvious Wahl was superior, but something that wasn't supposed to happen, happened. That's the kinds of things I like, it keeps things interesting and unpredictable.

The whole point is that Wahl's defeat wasn't fodderized. It was a progression of the plot and twist that led to his fall, something that I appreciate if it is true. I liked this fight and still think highly of Wahl. I'm still placing him mid ranked tier Spriggan level along with Inbel.

I am pretty sure Ajeel is superior to Whal when it comes to power but I feel like all are equaled out in someway. I will only go off the ones I have personally seen.

August
Brandish
Ajeel
Whal

The rest I can't really say as the rest would remain specualation. IMO God Serena seems overrated though. Looking at the other 4 Gods opf Ishgar power him being stronger then them makes sense. Wolfhiem seems more physical then nuke power and Warrod seems to old to actually fight in good combat.

All we really know is that August is stronger than everyone else.

Ajeel is somewhat underrated because technically speaking, he has the best performance. I don't see why Brandish would be stronger than Ajeel. So far all we've done is see her shrink and enlarge stuff. The scale of which she can do that doesn't outclass the scale Ajeel's sands can reach. Wahl was oneshotted by Ichiya and Freed. His weakbots didn't actually manage to make anyone go all out either. Nobody was seriously injured by him. On the other hand, Ajeel at least managed to seriously injure Erza.

From what we've seen so far of the Spriggans, I'd say it goes August > Ajeel > Brandish > Wahl. Out of those four, August is the strongest seeing he blocked a large-scale attack from Laxus that would've done major damage to Ajeel had he not stepped in. Ajeel is next for me because he's pretty much taken out one of Fairy Tail's strongest for the next chunk of the fights even though he got taken down himself. I can see him coming back later in the arc, however. Brandish is next. Haven't seen anything of her fighting, just shrink and growing things. Wahl goes at the bottom because Ichiya and Freed took him down in one shot.
I don't really want to speculate on the other spriggans because we haven't seen them in action yet, and only seeing them in action can help us determine where they lie in the scheme of things.

Although this is pure speculation I think Brandish > Ajeel because I'm pretty stuck on the chance that Brandish is only faking to be down to steal Fairy Heart from underneath Fairy Tail's noses. If that were to be true, that would show that Zeref has a great deal of trust in her power. She also remarked Ajeel has pesky (during the Sand World) which gives me the idea that she thinks of him as an underling.

Brandish only said he was creating unnecessary work for them by using Sand World because as its a sandstorm, it would lower visibility and could make it harder to find your opponent. That and it would trigger her hay fever. Not really that much to say she actually thinks of him as a lesser mage, but she might seeing how she is so judgmental. But then it'd pry into a more of an ego thing, which was Ajeel's problem.
Now that I think about it, the three spriggan that we've seen in magnolia so far have had some sort of ego problem. For Ajeel it was his god syndrome, for Wahl it was him not having a weakness and him being able to exploit others', and for Brandish so far it seems she's just cocky and thinks of a lot of people as lesser beings.

Eh to be honest, it's quite simple to explain why Brandish is definitely more powerful than Ajeel. For one, Brandish literally just shrunk a house with a snap of her finger.

Two, Ajeel's entire sandstorm around Magnolia couldn't even defeat an Erza. Brandish can shrink the town to the size of a pebble with a flick of her wrist if she really wanted to given that she didn't have hay fever.

I don't see how Ajeel = Brandish let alone Ajeel being stronger.
