I think Gildarts clive is one of the 12 Spriggan. This may be possible that when Gildarts fought Acnologia, Zeref was the one who saved him. After that maybe they had a long chat about world, magic, war, dragons etc. Zeref convinced him that Acnologia is real deal here and they need to stop him and told him about the Lumen Histoire is the only chance they have against Acnologia. After they said goodbye, Gildarts made Lumen Histoire his life's mission to find.
But when Makarov asked him to become Fairy Tails next master and told him about Lumen Histoire and Mavis. He went to Alvarez Empire to see Zeref told him about Lumen Histoire and then after some time Zeref declared war on Fairy Tail to get Lumen Histoire and end Acnologia for good.
So i think may be he is one of the 12 Spriggan and this is the reason that he is always away from Fairy tail. So i think in his away time he go to Alvarez empire and known there under the name Nine Heart or Blood man or something else.............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I honestly doubt Gildarts would be a Spriggan. He's had a mentor role in the story, and has had many in the guild, like Natsu, look up to him. Plus, he's a very moral character, fighting for what he believes is good and the truth. There's no way a guy like Gildarts in his right mind would be a Spriggan.

I find that very unlikely. Gildarts is basically a father to Natsu and literally a father to Cana. The guild is a treasure to him. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be among the spriggans. We already have Serena from Ishgar within their ranks. The only way I see Gildarts being there is in an attempt to infiltrate and dismantle the organization from within but that imo, is likely what Serena is already doing. I'd see no reason for Gildarts to be a spriggan

The only way I would see that ever happening is if Gildarts found out that Natsu is END and he is working for Zeref to find out what really END is and if Natsu is in any danger.

I don't think Gildarts is a spy since the Alvarez Empire planned to invade Ishgar 10 years ago at that time Gildarts didn't know about Fairy heart

I'm curious on what you guys thing of about both Jacob and Bloodman. To be honest I don't see Jacob being one of the stronger Spriggans mainly because he's surrounded by both August (hinted to be the strongest of the Spriggans) and God Serena (the strongest wizard in Ishgar) so to have a fair battle against the Saints Jacob would have to be on Ajeel's level (relatively). But on the other hand, Bloodman seems like the real deal. His alias "The God of Death" makes me shiver thinking about how strong he must me and the fact that he alone is planning on taking on Sabertooth and Blue Pegasus as a whole, makes me thing that he isn't someone to look down on.

Here are my Spriggan rank predictions alongside my ideas for their magics, and who their "main" fight will be with for the arc(Might still have minor fights- Like Ajeel & Erza) ~

1) August. Multiple Magics(He is the King of Magic after all...). It looks like Warrod could fight him, but I don't think that's his main fight, I like the idea of Crime Sorciere coming in as no one except the Saints seem to cover the West, and I also have a pretty loose theory that Jellal's dad IS August, so maybe some heart string pulling?

2) Bloodman / Nienhart / God Serena / Jacob. Bloodman's power could be poisoning people's blood or something crazy like that, to do with blood, I can see Yukino fighting him, and since Mirajane and Lisanna are heading North too, I could see that connection between Yukino and Mira return during a fight, also I want more badass Mira! It's too hard to tell Nienhart's magic already, just spitballing, but maybe since his name is Nine Heart, he might have 9 lives, or maybe some other power which can reflect nine hearts. As for opponents, quite hard to tell at the moment, no one that is fighting at Hargeon has a big signal flashing "NEINHART OPPONENT INCOMING!!!", maybe Wendy & Chelia? Only because there's really no one else I could see them with, but I don't think that will be Neinhart's "main" battle, but you never know, we had Wendy vs Ezel. As for Yuri Drey.*ahem*... God Serena, I have this sneaky suspicion that he might use Lightning Magic? It's almost as if I've seen him use it before..., anyway. Pretty obvious he's fighting Count Hyberion and Wolfywolfhiem, but I do see Gildarts coming in at some point. Hey, Jacob, really like your forehead... ehm.. I mean... I don't know how he assassinates people, maybe by exposing them to the majesty of his skull on his skull. Anyway, he seems to have his eye on Jura, I would actually like to see him assassinated, to strike real fear into people, like "These guys ain't messing around". As for otherwise, idk...

6) Invel / Brandish / Dimaria / Ajeel / Wahl. I actually think that Invel might be a slayer, hopefully an Ice God Slayer, since we haven't seen one of those, he could be a 2nd Gen Ice Dragon Slayer, but I very highly doubt that. As for pairings, I'm quite sure that Gray, Juvia & Lyon are gonna fight him in a joint fight. Brandish.. after this week's chapter, highly doubt she's staying with the Spriggan 12 for much longer, I see Lucy playing the hero and taking down Marin and saving Brandish, then Brandish tells Lucy about what really happened between her & Layla, then Brandish defects to Ishgar's side. I could see Brandish fighting Dimaria as they seem quite friendly, and I would like to see that relationship after Brandish defected. That brings me to Dimaria, who I don't really know what she uses magic-wise, could be an ability similar to Erza's. Anyway, I either see Brandish or Erza facing her. Ajeel seems like the kind of foe that usually gets handed to Natsu, the first male foe, Zancrow, Jackal, etc, but I don't think that will happen due to Natsu's big role in this arc, so maybe someone else, but as far as we're aware, Ajeel is still in the area of the Guild, so that rules out some others that have left to handle the other sides, I think he is also a user of Sand-Maker magic. Finally is Wahl, who I think uses a kind of requip with machines, and it's quite obvious Laxus is after him, so that's quite easy to predict.

Yea I can see this happening, one of the spriggans or Zeref will say something like "August might know the most magic, but <insert shield here> is the most powerful"

But do Alvarez really need another dude/chick on August+ level?

I like the idea of a springan who is a slayer... but with a twist. We have seen lachrima being used to give slayer powers to mages. So how about a springan with multiple lachrima from different type of slayers. Say, we see a lachrima for an ice god slayer and he also has a lachrima for ice dragon slayer. And as a result he can combine both powers and use it ice dragon god slayer magic. Of course, it doesn't have to be that element but I think this would be an interesting twist.

I see your point and that is interesting. It would be cool and unique but if that happens, that person better be on Fairy Tail's side. If he/she is one of the Spriggans or on the opposing side, then Ishgar definitely loses. I don't think it would necessarily be a case of ishgar instantly loosing. It would definitely be a powerful bit of magic to fight however the dragon slayers nowadays are playing a different game so to speak. Barring double elements (which might even be an inferior combination to double slayer magics) there is evidence that all DS now have access to dragon force. Well, rogue and sting already had that and have since grown considerably. Wendy has been shown using it on her own. At this point it is only natsu and gajeel who have yet to display it at will.

I can't say for certain, but I really think August should hold the title as strongest Spriggan. He looks the eldest and looks like he has the most experience. Kinda like an Alvarez Hades.

Just cuz some other dude is the crazier one doesn't mean he is the strongest. The calm guys are always more badass, not the hyper loud mouths.

Plus, I kinda dislike it when they say "...but little did you know, he ain't the strongest on our side... HE IS!!!muahahahaha!!!!"

Cuz then, when the stronger guy loses, they can be like "You know, we were just faking it, cuz THIS GUY is our strongest dude!!!muahahahah!!!!"



And then when that guy loses, they can be like "You see, we actually tricked you so that we can stall you and complete this even bigger plan that will doom you all. THIS DUDE is our ACTUAL strongest guy!!!! muahahahah haha haha!!!!"



And then when that guy loses, they will be like "You know what? F*ck it! THIS DUDE IS OUR STRONGEST GUY and the only way you can beat him is for Erza to use her massive Power of Friendship and Nakama Power Speech!!!MUHAAHAHAHAHA THAT B*ITCHES!! PEACE!!!"

Since other wizard guilds and the Ishgar gods are participating, I believe that all of the Spriggans will be around Ishgar god level. Here's how I think they will rank:

Above Mard Geer level:
August (close to Zeref level)
(Strongest spriggans)

Ishgar god level:
Ajeel/Wahl/Brandish
(Mid tier spriggans)

Jura level:
Weakest spriggans (Jacob?)

Mard geer was powerful but I am not so sure that he would really match up to any of the springan. He might well be weaker than any of them. After all, the springan are supposed to be well stronger than what gildarts was 1 year ago. It did take natsu with dragon force to do anything at all to mard geer though...

I think the same as well. The general idea about the spriggan is that they're a lot more powerful than the normal villains FT are used to. I doubt there's any of the past villains (Mard geer included) that are as powerful as the spriggan. Well except Acnologia of course and probably hades due to his unlimited magic supply.

About the spriggan strength, we don't have too much on them right now. August at the very least is likely among the top 3 strongest. I doubt we can say for sure that he's the strongest because even though makarov said he was on a different level, he also said he hadn't met all the spriggans yet.

Mard Geer doesn't seem to have the attacking power of a Spriggan, but his durability/endurance is good enough. Honestly Ajeel's feats don't really outstrip Mard's by much, only the AoE of sandstorm and sands of death. Algeria and Momento Mori aren't nothing to scoff at, and Mards speed/agility was pretty good.

My guess is that Mard Geer is weaker than all of the Spriggan, but he'd be hard to beat for a few of the shields.

You can't tell at all. All of them are hyped to be on GoI level.

The strongest one currently is Brandish simply because she's the only one with concrete feats so far.

I am not sure if alegria counts as a technique for mard geer. That was the actual base wasn't it? Momento mori is definitely dangerous if it outright ends your existence.

I am not sure if he would be hard. Take erza for example. We saw her fight good old ajir. Even when she got her powers back when she fought on her own she ended up with a somewhat ever disadvantage even after using swords which specifically took advantage of sand's weaknesses. And erza is nothing to scoff at, specially if her power increase over the timeskip was comparable to natsu's. If she grew as much as suggested then even the actual gildarts from 2 years ago would be nothing to her right now. Just look at how badly natsu beat bluenote. Once way or the other bluenote took what seems to be one of gildarts stronger moves to defeat. In turn natsu beat bluenote with a dragon roar. And in her base form erza has regularly been stronger than natsu. And then we have erza vs ajir... Ajir bested her at every turn. It took a jupiter shot and her strongest armor to barely do the trick. If natsu can defeat bluenote with ease, I can easily see the springans doing that plus some more to mard geer.

Why would Jacob be on Jura's level? Even Ajeel who's been portrayed to be the the weakest Spriggan 12 can only give Jura a high diff. Ajeel is below Mard featwise, though he would give him an extreme diff due to the nature of the match-up. Brandish is also being portrayed as a low-ranked Spriggan 12 and she's Mountain level via hax, so that would probably put mid-high ranked Shields (I'm predicting Jacob, Invel, August, God Serena and Nineheart) and low ranked Shields who focus on destructive magics (Wahl) at large mountain level DC and the other low-ranked Shields (I'm predicting Dimaria and someone else) slightly below at city level. I think Bloodman will rely on extreme hax.
